Finally! A decent review of this resort! Thank you. I have been watching resort reviews, trying to choose one that is best for my family. This one is always overlooked or forgotten. I appreciate that it’s huge, but we can’t all afford a deluxe resort, but wish to have a bit more luxe than a Value can provide. This video will help us make an informed decision. Subscribed!

Tip~ follow path aside the river until you see the sign for your building. If 1 flight of stairs are too much, ask for first floor room. My fav. Place to stay, sometimes you need to relax. I think you can walk over to the beverage area in the food court for milk and cream for coffee.

Here is what I was told. You can request a first floor, it’s not guaranteed but they will do their best. But if you don’t know that when booking, it’s very possible that they will not have a first floor room available. Or it will be further away.
I was also told to buy a any other type of milk or creamer if I wanted it for my coffee from the fridges.

Definitely check out the resort. They’re both great resorts that have pros and cons. The proximity to the parks with the Swan plus getting extended evening hours for being a deluxe resort is great, but the rooms are not great. Port Orleans has a good lobby area with night life but it’s big and takes forever to get to your room and some rooms don’t have elevators and it’s bus service only and you don’t get extended evening hours.

I just flip flopped between the two.
The location to two parks and dining at nearby, walkable resorts are big perks of the swan for us. It’s more compact and you’re inside hallways when you go to dining, etc. We are staying there, next time. 😂
Port O has the boat to Disney Springs, so there are tons of dining choices there too. But we chose it for this upcoming trip solely for the royal rooms, my 6 year old is a Tiana fan. I’m VERY nervous about the size of the resort and the amount of walking after a long day, and the internal bus loops taking a long time. I’m pretty psyched for the food. I have a gluten allergy and they have good GF options and I can go get a GF beignet at French quarter.
Last trip, we stayed at animal kingdom lodge, great resort, I would stay there again if I could - but we had a cast member discount that is no longer available to us.

Could I get a picture drawn by the cartoon artist for free like complimentary to their guests or is that like separate? If so, how much do they charge do you know?

Any one knows if you get the perks of 1 hr early entry and 1 hr after the park closes if you stay at this resort?

You get early park admission at all Disney Resorts. You do not get extended evening hours here. That is only for deluxe resorts. This is a moderate resort.

Everything I showed here is what they have. No lazy river, no floats. Lazy river is over at Yacht and Beach Club.

Every building in every resort has an elevator.

Hi. The 2 story buildings here (Alligator Bayou), do not have an elevator. If you want to stay here and need an elevator, request a first floor room, or you would have to spend extra for the Mansion rooms (Magnolia Bend) which are in the 3 story buildings which do have elevators. Thanks.

A 5 minute walk is too far? Good grief. You could have paid for a preferred room if it was a problem.

Preferred rooms are extra. I’m on a limited budget and pay for all of my videos out of pocket. If you’d like, you can join my Patreon to help me maybe try to book a preferred room for me to review in the future. Have a wonderful day 😊
