      Hey Cassandra!
Just for you to have a bit more context on Ciara’s outfit, it’s inspired by her husband, who by the time was the Seahawks Quarterback (which might explain the color of the dress), Russel Wilson, and actually won a SB with that team, so that’s also why she’s wearing the ring. I thought you might find this facts fun or interesting.

Billie Eilish was staying covered by choice while she was a minor. After turning 18 she did that Vogue cover which gave off sorta Marilyn Monroe vibes, and decided to show off her "more feminine" side on her own terms, and waited until she was 18

Met Gala is an event to raise funds for the the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The designers pay for a table for the celebrities. Each year there is a theme. It is for the museum's costume unit hence the garments.

For anyone who’s curious how the met gala works basically most of not all people attending are chosen by a designer who has a table at the event to wear and model a look for them, their design is their ticket in, otherwise it costs $35,000 for a ticket, the designer table however is $200,000-$300,000.

As Shayri have mentioned, It's based on American Fashion and iconic figures over the years. What may help in getting ideas for the Themes that maybe also help with ideas of future "Met Gala as Skin Care products" is watching Karolina Żebrowska's "Spotting Historical inspiration at the Met Gala" series, and her most recent one actually helps with explaining this years is anything American. (I would also love to see you go into the history of Skin Care overall as the Historical Fashion side are actually seeing how Skincare bases we have today go even farther back than we Originally thought. Abby Cox did a video about Face Cream and a potential Zinc Sunscreen done in the 1700s a while back)

Ooh I love seeing you mention Raya and would love a brand overview. I randomly found them on Amazon and they were afford and I fell in love with a few of their products...the Glycolic Exfoliating Mask (intense enough, but not painful!) and the Skin Recovery Mask (Holy hydrating, Batman! It make smy skin feel like butta!). I haven't tried many of their products but they seem to have some really great actives and nourishing ingredients in my (non-professional) opinion. I have repurched my two faves multiple times and they have sent me a sample of one of their lighter moisturizers, which I adored, but just haven't purchased cuz I have so many others I love. I love that they have a chart for skin types and purpose of each product. I would LOVE to know more about this brand.

The theme of the met gala was In America : A Lexicon of Fashion. Meaning anything in the last 100 years of America that influenced American fashion, people, was fashionable or iconic at some point. It wasn't American beauty standards or America. Though someone dressing up as the American flag would very well have fitted since Americans do wear their flag as clothes & accessories.
Lupita nyong showed up in denim, which has been a big part of American fashion.
Sierra dressed up in a sports silhouette, since sporty fashion is a thing in America. It was inspired from her husband's Jersey iirc.
Billie Eilish showed up in an old Hollywood style look, because again that's a very iconic classic American style.
If you were going to do this video then probably should've researched. Would've taken you 5 minutes to read one article on Met Gala. Keeping with the theme means chosen skincare brands should've been American, or trendy/big in America. PC fits since its made in USA & Saturday skin fits since Kbeauty is popular in America, dunno about the other brands.

Oh yay, as requested at the end of the video, ask and you shall receive, and woo, sorry it's a doozy. This is one of those times where my comments lean towards many paragraphs (okay so I rambled in places and put way to much that could do with some edits so it might appear overwhelming for some and for that, apologies. (Update: I had to split this up, so part 2 is in a reply below this one), again, apologies.). If you want t o skip reading, I completely understand why, but if you are one of those curious individuals, maybe something good can be gleaned by the dense verbiage therein. There will be a few notes, including details I've found relevant to the discussed subjects, which I hope clears up some confusion regarding the theme and provides some examples of the motivations behind some attendees looks, as well as exploring some comments made in the video.
In regards to the gargantuan price tag, beginning in the 1970s, the Met Gala & it's fees have and always fully funds the Metropolitan Museum of Art's Costume Institute, which makes it free for the public to attend & view. If they only did public funding & donations, it would take forever to even begin to cover costs to maintain & show exhibitions/instilllations for one year. In this case the high prices makes quite a bit more sense.
The current theme is from a two part exhibition, that will end in September 2022. From the Met's website, here is the general overview:
"The Costume Institute's "In America: A Lexicon of Fashion", launches a two-part exploration of fashion in the United States in the Anna Wintour Costume Center. It establishes a modern vocabulary of American fashion based on its expressive qualities. Smaller in scale than Part Two, this portion of the exhibition uses the organizing principle of a patchwork quilt. A signature quilt begun in 1856 from The Met's American Wing collection opens the show, and serves as a metaphor for the United States and its varied cultural identities. Approximately 100 men's and women's ensembles by a diverse range of designers from the 1940s to the present are featured. Enclosed in scrimmed cases that represent three-dimensional "patches" of a quilt, they are organized into 12 sections that explore defining emotional qualities: Nostalgia, Belonging, Delight, Joy, Wonder, Affinity, Confidence, Strength, Desire, Assurance, Comfort, and Consciousness. Part Two, "In America: An Anthology of Fashion", opening in the American Wing period rooms on May 5, 2022, will present sartorial narratives that relate to the complex and layered histories of those rooms. A catalogue showing both installations will be published in May 2022. "
Below are some discussed highlighted attendees:
*Dan Levy: The actor/writer/producer (and son of of comedian Eugene Levy, who not only played his father on "Schitt's Creek" but is also one of the major comedic actors who played a part on popular American comedies between the late 1970s to early 2000s), collaborated with a designer from Lowe's Jonathan Anderson, who took inspiration from American artist and Aids activist David Wojnarowicz, whose work focused on civil rights and LGBT+ identity. Lowe' also made a donation to Visual AIDS, an organisation Wojnarovicz supported, that continues to promote AIDS awareness and education. Levy & Anderson built upon Wojnarowicz's queer art piece of two men kissing (won't name the piece here, but the title is from a homophobic cartoon the artist had come across). Anderson wanted Levy to be "...our gay superhero... Through his comedy, he is able to knock down cultural barriers. We wanted to make something that allows him to make queer love visible and we found that through the seminal works of David Wojnarowicz." In his words, Levy stated "“I’m a pretty introverted person, and I tend to avoid big parties, so this was a big step out of my comfort zone. Jonathan described [the look] as a superhero for the community, and when I put it on, I definitely could feel that. And to me, that’s an America that I want to be a part of. Rather than feed on the message of hate, we wanted to celebrate queer love and visibility. by acknowledging how hard artists like Wojnarovicz had to fight, while also presenting the imagery in a way that offered a hopeful message. Tonight, we’re celebrating the resilience, the love, and the joy of the community while honoring a crucial American voice that was taken from us too soon. There’s a lot more that needs to be done [in terms of LGBT+ equality.
*Lupita Nyong'o: She is a Luo Kenyan/Mexican talented actress/producer who comes from a prolific family, including her father professor/author/politician Peter Anyang' Nyong'o and cousins Stanford/Harvard educated technology entrepreneur Isis Nyong’o Madison & Yale professor/scholar/ performance critic Tavia Nyong'o. Lupita always does something unexpected on the red carpet on any event she attends usually looking beat for the gods and put together. In a dress that incorporated denim (a fabric based off of French twill "serge de Nîmes" or "serge of Nimes", historically associated with the working class & rebellious individuals) designed by Versace, her look had a molded mane hairstyle, designed to echo the delicacy of tulle, took inspiration from Brooklyn based conceptual artist Lorna Simpson. Lupita's hairstylist Vernon François conveyed "[Simpson's] take on texture is powerful, and I wanted to imitate the effortless wave and movement that she conveys in her work. Lupita is incredibly visionary and adventurous. Not only does she have the most versatile kinky, coily, hair but the ability to wear and show the beauty of all hair textures, I’ve always wanted to bring this technique to life within the Afro hair experience, and doing it for the Met Gala is mind-blowing " Additionally, as indicated by Cassandra's take on Lupita's hair, the lady with the cinnamon buns is a character, Princess Leia Organa who also served as her planet's senator & later became a rebellion's General, from a film series, "Star Wars", that is still a major influence on American pop culture & science fiction films/tv shows. Leia was portrayed by Carrie Fisher, the daughter of classic film actress Debbie Reynolds whose most well known film was the American musical "Singing In The Rain" and Carrie's father was famed American singer Eddie Fisher. Carrie had a terrifically sharp witty comedic timing & sense of humor, was a prolific writer whose acerbic semi autobiographical book "Postcards From The Edge" was adapted in to a film starring Meryl Streep & was one of the best script doctors in Hollywood, often making the screenplays she worked on exceptionally better. Her & her mother had a bond so strong, that when Carrie died, her mother died the following day out of shocked grief & heartache. Carrie's daughter BIllie Lorde is a successful actress herself, who recently gave birth to Carrie's first grandchild, and is currently associated with anthology horror television series "American Horror Story".
*Gemma Chan: Her look by Prabal Gurung, a Nepalese New York designer whose siblings are Pravesh Rana Gurungan, a India film director & Kumudini Shresth, a teacher and social worker, was based off the "Dragon Lady" style of classic Hollywood Chinese American actress Anna May Wong, considered the first Asiana American movie star. . Even when dealing with anti-miscegenation, when Asians were shunned in favor of white actors playing in Asian roles, Wong was able to achieve a huge level of success, becoming one of the most popular and well paid actresses of the silent film era. Out of her contemporaries, Wong was one of the few able to transition to talking pictures and television (if you've seen "Singing I The Rain" that's a great example of how some actors had difficulties going from silence to speaking/singing on film). Chan is a public proponent who heavily advocates Asian representation which is sadly still needed even in this day and age.
*Iman: As stated in the video, is a makeup brand innovator, yet prior to that, was one of the first black supermodels who became popular in America whose career and public image served as a direct influence on the American fashion/body trends beginning in the 1970s, when the Met Gala first became popular. Also before his untimely death due to terminal cancer, she was married to the late great David Bowie, a chameleonic vanguard musician/music producer/actor whose career was on the forefront heavily impactful to American culture.. Iman's haloed fusion pants/corseted dress evokes images of American personification Columbia, who later influenced the Look of Columbia Pictures logo along with another American icon The colossal Statue of Liberty. Liberty's design was based on work that was from a failed project of another colossal statue for a port in Egypt, that would have had features extrapolated from statutes at the front entrance of the Egyptian Temple of Abu Simbel and those of an Egyptian peasant woman, features which can still be seen in the final design of Liberty's face & hair. Through Iman's collaboration with Harris Reed, a stunningly gorgeous designer whose work is equally incredible, and also has a line of beautiful approachable wearable jewelry, add to the fact that Iman herself was an emigrated refugee from Somalia, which, like Egypt, is a country in Africa, who became an American citizen and has said "America adopted me. I’m an American citizen. I have my own company. Everything I have now, I only have because I was shown dignity.", you can see why this suitable design was so intelligently put together, well communicated & executed.

(Continued from the prior comment. Apparently CZcams can't even because of the length of it, so what you gonna do, right?)
*Billie: Eilish: Her gorgeous Oscar De La Renta, dress pays homage to one worn by Marilyn Monroe at the 1951 Oscars and Grace Kelly (who in real life later became a literal princess herself of Monaco) as Frances Stevens in "To Catch A Thief"in a costume designed by Edith Head, a notorious designer who was one of the real world inspirations for Edna Mode in "The Incredibles", along with Vogue editor in chief/Met chairperson Anna Wintour and late actress Linda Hunt. The overall look bears shared elements of Scarlett Johanssen's red carpet appearances (especially some of Eilish's features paired with that blonde hair color) & the signature styles of Elizabeth Taylor, Marilyn Monroe and Mae West.
*Grimes: Her look is styled after a techno futuristic warrior concept, and meant to look towards the future of American fashion, incorporating an original mask designed by the costume department of Denis Villeneuve's 2021 adaptation of Frank Herbert's "Dune", a custom “Bene Gesserit” gown by fusion tech/haute couture crafter Iris Van Herpen in which van Herpen describes as “inspired by distant futures,” and spent over 900 hours perfecting made from mirror-finished liquid silicone individually hand-cast & arranged in a 3-D laser-cut labyrinth onto a nude illusion bodice that melts into 26 meters of gradient-dyed hand-pleated silk, custom Lillian Shalom cyber metal elven ears, jewelry by Etsy designer Sofia Pavlova, an accessory portable lightbook lamp (in reference to the books of Dune and possibly the illuminative aspect of the acquisition of knowledge, in essence knowledge being power, which ties back to the warrior theme) that is currently listed on Amazon at around $20 USD and a sword that Grimes describes as " based on a western European sword from the end of the Middle Ages around 1400" cast from the melted down parts of a Colt AR-15A3 semi automatic rifle which is listed by name as a banned assault weapon in the state of California. That sword is now a permanent part of The Metropolitan Museum of Art's collection.
*Kim Kardshian: Yes agreed, that silhouette is typically now associated with the certain body ideals in American culture directly popularized by her & The Kardashians media influence , but the material used designed by creative director Demna Gvasalia of Balenciaga, it is effectively the type used for constructing T-shirts, which over the last century is a garment definitively associated with American fashion. The dual cape at her feet represents the shadow of a bright harsh spotlight being projected on a figure, thus the sharp edging. Even as a shadow of herself, so to speak, people know who exactly it is under that mask, fully made up face and all.
*Kendall Jenner: Her dress, which took 2,500 hours and 30 beaders to complete, by Hubert de Givenchy, was based on and a callback to Audrey Hepburn's transformative Pygmalionesque character Eliza Doolittle's costume, specifically a gown designed by Cecil Beaton (even the paper on which the original Beaton design is drawn has a nude color to it).

please, please, please, yes, do review the Augustinus Bader cream. I tried to research it and it all seems a scam to me. A guy who happened to have some research on how to help burnt victims and all of a sudden his super secret formula is magically skin renewing, as with those said burnt victims. Except it's two separate things, the guy's reputation as a doctor (which may be totally true) and what's inside his magic cream and what it's capable of. Two different things. It's as if a famous tennis player were the face of a cosmetics product and a promoted side effect of the said product would be that people who use it start being really good in tennis. I am not saying the ingredients do not look good for a moisturiser, but they do not look groundbreaking, magically skin renewing good, like nothing else out there good. Somebody somewhere actually tried to find out what's in the super secret TF8 or what it's called (I think they tracked down the patent?) and they were good, but generally widely available and no groundbreaking ingredients (sorry, I cannot find the article right now). Also, it's always way down the ingredients list, so there has to be little in each product (maybe it's so potent, who knows...) So I am not saying it's a bad cream, I am saying, the brand is misleading people by implying that the cream can do much more than it really can (technology that can renew skin in burn victims kind of miracle). That's why it's so damn pricey, because it is surrounded by this medical miracle aura, I absolutely do not believe in. So I would be really, really grateful if you could look at it and say what you think, because you're much more of an expert.
