In the UK the commercial rock and pop industry seems to have overwhelmed other popular music, I cannot for instance imagine a large concert hall, as we see here, being filled with people for this genre of music. Britain has lost it's eclectic taste, partly due to the narrow confines of BBC output. But thanks to CZcams we can regain it to some exent

Andrea has such a terrific command of her musical delivery she can put it in the background and just enjoy. She connects with the tune and the audience on a level few singers do. She literally lights up the stage with her personality. It doesn't hurt that she stands on the shoulders of a first class jazz combo either.
A perfect summary of what we see in this performance. This is the only time she joined the Ground Sisters. If you compare the sisters to Andrea, you can see how difficult it is to get all the moves down.
The only thing missing here is some trumpet playing to show the full package.
These guys are the best combo behind any young singer.

I love to come back to this easy song and hear Andrea with her early "girly" voice, nevertheless on top of the song, syncopating in her best "princess" style. Then she has some girl fun, joining the dancers. The lines of text following vibrate with the joy of a sweet sixteen!

The music of Portuguese speaking people is WAY way over the top. When it comes to the Brazilians, stunning genius with sound. Like Andrea Motis, they are very sure of what they're doing, and having an absolute ball. She enunciates something like a child, out of grand sophistication. Gorgeous.
+Nityanandi Nityanandi, if I'm not mistaken, these people are neither Portuguese nor Brazilian, they're from Barcelona, Spain. And almost every song I've heard from Motis and Chamorro is American jazz. As for her enunciation, well, she almost doesn't speak English at all, so she gets full credit for a stellar job of memorizing foreign lyrics. And I think we agree entirely on the result. It's pretty darned wonderful.

Explêndido, Joan Chamorro. Maestro de primeira linha, cantoras e instrumentista geniais, toda a orquestra, inclusive. Passo horas e horas ouvindo vcs, repetindo as músicas, o bom gosto é muito.

Yes, she and her pals have become beautiful young women and their talents have blossomed accordingly through the years, but I do believe it physically impossible for a human being to be cuter than Andrea was this night. Feeding off the audience, it's like she awoke to the possibilities before her and her inner light (dharmakaya light, if you will) became uncontainable.

Very good version but too fast.
I agree, and they are speeding up during the song. Not very steady timing and way to fast. I do not like the vocals either. Sound a bit like Donald Duck with the flu. ;-)
The 30,'s recordings of this ala Ted weems and Gold were faster than this before everyone was taken by Nina Simone's version.Andrea's tempo is much easier to dance to anyway.Love the cute vocals.
