I don't care what anyone says, for me, this entire album hit me right in the feels. Went straight to #1 on my favorite Mastodon albums of all time. The lyrics, melodies, atmosphere etc. Plus, just some things going on in my life at the moment that swirl around certain songs. Album of the year IMHO. Even though there's other new music released by bands I listen to, also entirely different genres of music I enjoy. I keep returning back to this album when I'm driving.
Say what you will about this album, but this feels like such a significant moment for Mastodon. This album reaches emotional depths that I was not prepared for. I get choked up when I listen to Had It All and Eyes of Serpents, to name some, and that is amazing. Thank you for what you have created.
This album is a masterpiece. It’s an emotional roller coaster that I wasn’t prepared for. I can’t stop listening to it. Every track evokes something different but equally emotional. More people should know about this album. It’s already in my top ten albums and definitely their best work to date.
I really would have loved to have this as a full documentary like the recording of "Crack the Skye" - these little teases aren't enough! Make it a 3 CD haha
16/07 lost my father. thank you for helping me with your music. means a lot. especially now, where the whole world (and my world) is burning down. Wish you where here.
I really do not care what others think, this album is a absaloute HIT. Sickle and Peace, Tear Drinker, Pushing the Tides: It's all awesome. Especially Brann's vocals, he rocks in this album, it suits him.
literally one of the best bands ever created. these guys are at the very pinnacle of their rise and peak of their talent! I'm so lucky I was here to witness it.
The music alone brings you out of space, but watching them play brings you to a new multiverse. They don't play music, they ARE the music. They probably snore making cool harmonies when they take a nap in the same room.
I love the throwback sound to 70's rock era(America's Ventura Highway comes to mind here) combined with more modern rock sounds. Teardrinker also has some of that 70's rock sound (Blue Oyster Cult-esque).
It's official, now I can't decide which is my favorite Mastodon record. Hushed and Grim is a masterpiece, and I can't stop listening to tracks like Eyes of Serpants, the Crux, Sickle and Peace, Savage Lands, Teardrinker and Pushing the tides. Love you guys, keep up the good work 🤩
Such a great album! Best of the year IMO. Saw you guys twice on this tour, NYC & LA before I got locked down in Canada again w Omicron wave. Awesome shows and great way to get travelling a bit again!! Plus I’d never been to NYC before. All the best in the months ahead!! All going well maybe a Toronto or Montreal show? If so I’ll be there for sure.
AHHH IM not late to the party after all !! HOLY FUCK THIS IS AMAZING!!!! thank you so much for the glimpse into the studio, I will utilize every bit of knowledge I can gleen from this.
I'm impressed guys. Very professional CD. You guys got a really weird style of writing and I love it. Wish you played out more in Atlanta. I live here and have never had a chance to meet you guys. I used to be a sound engineer for about 30 years and I really miss the live shows since COVID hit. I got a laser show put together for one of your songs too if you're ever interested in seeing it. Peace boys. Great work.
His vocals or bass? I think his bass is a little quiet on a lot of songs especially the bass solo in Teardrinker, definitely should have been pushed a little more to the front
These studio style music videos showing the actual playing and recording are great. Would love to see more full videos like Toe to Toes!
Agreed
Except they’re not playing studio audio.
I second this statement!!!!
Hell yeah. Folk metal 🤘😎🤘
that song is epic.
Troy's vocals are so soulfull in this track.
Sickle and Peace starts off so whimsical and floaty and then just turns a 180 and crushes you with a sledgehammer.
Thats honestly the best way I've heard someone explain that song. Beautiful
0:55 - Awww that so sweet of him to put a picture of Troy on his shirt.
Fantastic track. The album overall is incredible.
One of the best examples of a metal band maturing i know!
Agree
Couldn't agree more!
I just love the way he says "Where there is none"

I love Troy's voice on this album, you guys did a great job with Hushed and Grim!
I agree 100%, in fact i think this is the album with the best vocals the guys have done
Agreed
Troy needs to sing every single song.

They are on a whole new level now... Up there with the great classic rock albums of all time.
It really is. I can't stop raving about how good the album is. Sickle... is SO SICK. I was a mess after hearing "Had it all" 😭😭😭
This album is a masterpiece. It’s an emotional roller coaster that I wasn’t prepared for. I can’t stop listening to it. Every track evokes something different but equally emotional. More people should know about this album. It’s already in my top ten albums and definitely their best work to date.

You named three singles when talking about how good the album is lol
@@Tdrummer888 Well, i also like More than I could Chew, too. Just because they are singles doesn't mean I'm posing
such a great album and this track is a barn burner
This is true genre-defying brilliance
Love it!
literally one of the best bands ever created. these guys are at the very pinnacle of their rise and peak of their talent! I'm so lucky I was here to witness it.

These guys... doin' their thing for years and still RAD! Neverending cool sounding riffs!
I would love seeing one on Peace and Tranquility.
Looking forward to seeing you live in June. Thanks for all the efforts in providing these wonderful pieces of music to us!

Fantastic, but this needed to be a full video. :)
Troy is such a beast
These clips are too short!!! I loved the making of Emperor of Sand videos, any chance we can get something like that (if the footage exists)?
Yo. Awesome Record.

I'm in love with Troy's warwick ...

Don't you want them anymore ?
Easily my favorite song on the album.
I think H&G is the album where Troy's vocals sound the best.
