holy shit. The algorithm brought me here. I'm a Network Engineer, but for the last 5 years. Moving into doing IT in IDC has been extremely rewarding. I kept on getting mad at y'all playing i don't know much about this gambit... But i got into the industry because my dad being an electrical engineer, and witnessing events like Saudi Aramco, stuxnet and conversations with my future brother in law.
If you WANT a job with good pay and hours, this sector of our economy needs us dudes named Ben's.
If you work for a petroleum company.. they will pay for your
    SANS courses..
Final note. It feels very early 90s-2000s ITish in a sense where you need to be a jack of all trades at times.
    Love the episode!

MOAR! When needs episodes two, three and four of this subject. Didnt even get into what does entry into the field look like, what disciplines would be able to make the switch to OT, what skills or experience would be looked for? Is there space for something like a OT MSP for the organizations that may want it but not the maintenance.

    Some questions/ comments:
    1) For the first time, i see Tim and Andy's expressions were like, everything is flying over their head 😄 (no offence at all, same was the case with me)
    2) Definitely more such episodes please !
    3) Can we consider IoT and OT to be similar ?
    4) Could "StuxNet" have been possible, if OT wasnt integrated with IT ?

Biggest problem as a network engineer is not getting the communications requirements from the vendors that install equipment. There are different L2 protocols that meet the latency sensitive requirements on the OT side for resiliency should a link go down.
