  • "You have high cholesterol", this is one of the phrases most feared by humanity and is part of the cast of ancestral fears that have shaken our civilization since time immemorial, such as "The wolf is coming!"
Much of our fear of cholesterol comes from the mistake of classifying foods into good and bad according to their macronutrients, so it is common to hear that if it contains fructose it is bad because it raises triglycerides or if it contains protein it is Keto and lose weight.
In reality, food is like guns, it is neither good nor bad, it all depends on how we use it and with what intention.
It is necessary to think of food in a global way, taking into account how the body uses them and not based on their calories or carbohydrates. In this way, a nutritional recommendation can be made based on the real usefulness of the food.
For example, it is known that foods that contribute to raising cholesterol are those that contain more refined sugars. But eggs are considered a cholesterol-lowering food because they contain cholesterol. It has also been known for a long time that the egg does not increase cholesterol, as I will explain below, in addition the egg also contains lecithin and is a very interesting food for brain function, in general the egg is a very useful food.
Another example would be cheese, which contains saturated fat but is also an important source of beneficial probiotics. It is suspected that these probiotics would make cheese have a beneficial effect on cholesterol as I will explain in a moment.
We cannot judge food because it has a suspicious ingredient, but rather because of its behavior on the overall health of the person.
