Wow! What an adventure! Thankfully all turned out well. Amazing how much you need to know in order to sail. Thanks for sharing. ❤️

Thanks! It was definitely an adventure, but not the kind we prefer. LOL! Fortunately Juliet has been running beautifully ever since.

Stressful indeed! But all part of the adventure! 😉

Thanks, really interesting oil loss conundrum and eventual diagnosis of the engine oil cooler. With such a problem occurring at sea with little to no wind I will definitely remember this. Thanks for sharing everything as it happened :-)

Thanks for your comments! Yes it was quite the mystery. We actually consulted many different sources for their opinions before we finally got a definitive diagnosis. Definitely one of the more interesting experiences of our cruising life so far!

Way to go , Charlie… You showed great engine and mechanical prowess…All California guys of our vintage have inherent engine savvy in our genes….Ala American Graffiti 😂😂😂True drama on the high seas, and of course, it always happens in the middle of the night!

maybe it’s that chinese writing on the pressure gauge?

LOL! Yes, that's a bit confounding. This boat was built in Taiwan, so there are a few places where there are labels that we can't interpret. Fortunately this gauge has a needle that indicates the pressure! 😉

@@svjuliet6055 Glad it all worked out. I was on pins and needles watching your video. It took me back several months ago when we grounded Key Lime Pie on the entry to Santispac. That shoal goes out so damn far into the center channel. We didn’t manage to get loose till wee into the night, on a moonless night. We knew there were couple of tiny islands in between us and Santispac, but our chart plotter did not coincide with our radar. It was “trust the chart, or trust the radar” type of a situation. I trusted the radar to dodge the islands. We made it!!! lol

@@sailingkeylimepie-pirateflag YIKES! We've been lucky - only a very brief grounding when our windlass jammed up while trying to weigh anchor in San Evaristo a couple months ago, and in the frenzy of trying to free it up we drifted over a sandy lump in the middle of the anchorage. But we managed to power out of it. Glad you got free! Ahhh...the challenges of cruising. And yes, we know that shoal at Santispac! It's a doozy!
