- This time, `the man in a hat` visits locations in both Norfolk and Suffolk in England.
Firstly, a visit to the town of Bungay in Suffolk - a town with many ghosts and legends, followed by a trip to the Norfolk Broadlands, to the remains of a medieval undercroft (cellar) at St Olaves Priory. Later, we visit the site of an ancient Priory at Bungay.where we carry out a night investigation and capture some interesting EVP and a particularly weird event ..... As always, the documentary and investigation is presented by Chris Halton. - Zábava
Perfect way to spend my Labor Day here in the States...if you had been my history teacher when I was in high school, I would have made an A+...LOL...I, myself, think your videos/presentation is pure perfection...lots of love from Tina Perkins!!
The idea of a Shakespeare night in such a quiet little village almost brought me to tears..... sounds like my version of heaven.
It`s a nice town, Brian :)
Hugh Bigod is a paternal ancestor of mine...interesting stuff! The stomping grounds of my forebearers.
Interesting. Thanks, Andrew.
I drive a bus everyday through bungay and never knew there was so much history around me i love these videos and bungay
Yet another wonderful video from a beautiful looking location. The name is also a winner Bungay. I must look it up to see where the name originates. Thanks Chris for your great work.
Just for those who wonder why the pub is called the 'three tuns' a tun is a large barrel that holds:1. A large cask for liquids, especially wine.2. A measure of liquid capacity, especially one equivalent to approximately 252 gallons (954 liters).
Loved this! We lived in Ramsey Forty Foot in East Angelia for three years. We loved living in England and sometimes I miss it, especially in the fall months. Keep up the great work. ;)
Awesome video! Great history! 👻👍
Thanks for your kind comments. It`s a lovely old town, and an enjoyable shoot. I wasn`t aware that there was an appreciation society - but I`m not surprised :)
Fascinating video again. I had a friend who was Parish Priest of St Edmund's RC Church and have spent quite a few holidays in Bungay - love the town.
It is a lovely little town Jeff. I loved travelling around the place as it has so much history. :)
I was hoping you would get the chance to walk around St Edmund's in the video. It is a lovely church, albeit a bit young in terms of churches, constructed around 1897.
Jeff Walker its a s*** hole i live there nothing but crime and its a noisy place
Karts and engines Perhaps you should move out and the place may improve...
As always, a rich & interesting wander through timeless places. I love your episodes as much for the history & to see off-the-beaten track old buildings from ancient times. Superb! Thank you from California!
Hi Chris. Evy here. I would like you to look at 9:02-9:04 or so; at your elbow---maybe an orb coming at you? I loved the little tid bit on the reason there are so many holes in the raised walkway. Thanks for the great effort on the sites and history.
Great video. I always look forward to watching your work. Very interesting.
I like you Chris love ghost and history and the paranormal
There is most certainly something in the cellar of the Three Tuns Chris, it was my job to clean and open the cellar bar during the 80's, I had 2 experiences of playfulness from the spirit world. Also some of the tunnels still exist, I've been in sections of them when my husband (a restoration builder) work on many properties around the town.
was there today. love it in there
I am hooked. Do you ever get scared? You are a brave soul. Thanks for what you do I have learned alot..Have a sweet day!
Despite being a paranormal investigation, this video made me feel at peace :)
You have always very good music in your videos and videos are very interesting too.
Hi Chris, another fabulous video :) Love your point about the removal of ironwork during WWII @18:04. As you rightly say, most of the metal taken was never used. Still worse, much of it was scrapped at sea. More disgraceful though, is the quietly kept secret of the railings found in London's posher parts. Pretty much all of that stuff was never even touched, let alone considered for removal.
The metal was generally inferior for war work, but I guess it was a way of getting everyone involved with the war. Thanks for commenting :)
Thanks Joanna! Very pleased you enjoyed my video. Looking forward to my next shoot already! :)
yes I was once walking my dog at night I herd the monks
Tom TheHammy omg tom😂 you're everywhere
this was excellent .. enjoyed the historical commentary as well as the night time investigation and "voices" from the past that seemed to acknowledge your presence
Great interesting
As always Love your videos!!! Lots of love from a Canadian fan!!!!
Very interesting as always Chris & Sean, great history lesson thrown in there as well; keep up the great work! Cheers.
Thanks Barb - The area has a lot of history, so it was fun sharing some of it :)
Black Chuck is a very serious old East Anglian legend and not to be trifled with. His pawmarks are burned deep on the wooden church door, so beware!
excellent another gem Chris u make me feel that i am there with you
A pleasure , really enjoyed your film :-)
Lol! You make me blush, Gina :) Thanks for your support!
Love this Chris so cool your vidio
Fantastic show again i loved every minute of it and i am sure the evp at 15:41 says "Percy" not patsy...but thats just me lol thanks again for sharing your work with us all...cheers!
Brilliant investigation. Beautiful scenery and very atmospheric. As usual I enjoyed it immensely. Very English country town, makes me feel quite homesick. The added history makes it so interesting. Keep up the good work :)
Thanks Georgia :) Very much appreciate your words and continuing support!
I am amazed at this and it's a wonder you haven't put all your travels on a disc as your historical knowlage of the area would be nice to listen to audio only as i could listen all day and night so keep up the good works detective and we will await your audio disc when it is at all possible thankyou ps you are missed on U tube
What really bothers me is that the churches no long are in use...no worship going on at all. What a shame. Those places have history and we should be maintaining them with a congregation! God is not surprised however...we are a stiff-necked people, wanting our own way. Love these vids. England is so beautiful with much history. Thanks.👍🇨🇦
Thanks Evy :) I`ll check that out, and pleased you too enjoyed!
love your videos and its so exirting love thebold churches and castles
i.m realy facinating its a lovely place. il love old churchs and priorys . the history xx thank you chris.
While you don't sem to have much luck in contacting the ghosts,I do enjoy the tours of the old villages and history Thanks!
Think if you got there later in the night you would have gotten more. But still great sites to take a look around.
Really very good indeed , very informative and enjoyable guide to our historic town. Did you know there is a Bungay Appreciation Society on Facebook ?
Thanks Donna - Greets to Canada :)
Another great video by a great video producer and commentator! Very professional, very well done, very well shot - everything about it spells perfection! (Sad that someone gave it a thumbs down - don't know why or how in the world they would manage to do a thing like that...But I guess some people are just weird that way.)
At any rate, great job on the video Constantine! I liked how you walked up to the camera & delivered your presentation! (Also, good filming/shooting there Sean Kim!) :-D
under the buttercross in bungay is a chamber which was a prison cell type thing.. think you should of come over to the old grammar school by the victorian cemetary, thats still visible as a school from the outside but converted to flats, a few here have said about a sighting of a man walking the old corridor and a bell ringing..
Thanks, Jay, that I didn`t know. Thanks for sharing. :)
All that metal was dumped at sea- it was never used. After all, how many wrought iron aircraft have ever been made?
Unsigned buff is a reference to an unsigned headstone.
Thank you. Lefemme :)
Chris, if you see this comment, can you tell me who did the music for this video? I’ve been looking for one of these pieces for a while now. Thank you! Love your videos!! ♥️
I can`t give you the actual name except to say it was a composition by Kevin Macleod.
I miss Chris Halton.
Still around, Ed! :)
Thank you! :)
Thank you :) I hope to travel out further, so who knows? There are some great locations in Cornwall.
I miss The Man in the Hat para-documentaries of yore...
I will be returning, Annika :)
Thanks Wayne :)
Thank you :)
Thanks Red - More investigations (and music) on the way! :)
A bit off topic here Chris, but has your account been hacked? I am getting notifications supposedly from you, but they turn out to be posts by someone with an American accent, the recent one was about an American one legged spy. I love your ghost and legends posts, it's refreshing to see someone who doesn't scream and charge about like a fool, while their friends are throwing buttons, coins, and faking ghosts walking upstairs.
chris when you where talking behindvyou are strange moving people very strange way there walking !
Please you enjoyed :)
Thanks Linda :) Very much appreciate your support. It seems that this might be a good video, as I have earn`t 4 thumbs down! That`s normally a strong indicator that a video is being enjoyed by the majority :)
Have you done any research into Prestbury Gloucestershire ?
Wait, theres no fence around it. It's right off the sidewalk?
chris at 10 .56 theres a figure behind you and its hiding walking like a gohst or figure so weird,, did you notice that ,,
It could very well be, Rach :)
O M G !!!! Did anyone else see the ghost of a monk having sex with a tree ?
...there was something...just a blink...time between 9:08 / 9:09...on chris' (from view of those who are watching) right arm. or maybe i am just a bit crazy...
This the 2nd story l’ve watched, just wondering why the speech is out of sync with video?
Hi Chris! I run Kentghoststories on facebook. Love your videos. I wondered might you be interested in doing a video especially for the page?
I lived opposite wightmans for about 5 years, nothing weird happened for me :(
Don't know how they managed to build theses buildings
Chris I am come to Norwich in August 2018 can we meet some wear in Norwich

It`s a pity you`ve shut your YT account Alan, so we may never know!
I hate how he says BunGAY everyone I know says Bungay like bungy and I am pretty sure that is how you say it
Yep, there's always one that will dig deep enough to find something of no importance to bitch about. Good job pussboi!
