    I recently changed the upper wishbones on my brera, just jacked the shock so the bolts could go through the springs didn't have to losen the bolts on top.

    Right now it's the front left shock absorber that's to be replaced.

    Question...there was a part on the wishbone that you greased which moves slightly.... Does that cause any knocking sound sometimes?

  • @biostrong
    @biostrong Před 5 lety +7

    No need to undo the shock and the wishbone bolt. Just compress the spring. It's actualy easier on the ground with a jack and a stand under the lower wishbone.

    • @ItaliaAutos

    • @therushden
      @therushden Před 5 lety +1

      My 147 was a pain for this. You checked the yellow plug under the seat? They tended to work loose on my 147. Some people used to solder them in. Think you have to get a reader to turn the light out, mine I used to catch it early and turn the key one click, let it settle then turn it off. Used to sort it if someone had moved the seat.

      I've heard about the dodgy plug connections before but I've never physically pulled it out, just a visiual told me it looks undisturbed so I left it.
      I'm out of ideas so I'll go in with some contact cleaner when I get a chance. My air bag light is on permenantly.
      I do have the multiecu scan but it can't connect to it, possibly a different cable needed, which I've just ordered.
      Pesky thing. Any other ideas welcome

      vw is too cheap for double wishbone. and audi is overengineered, there is probably 5 bolts to hold the wishbone in, made to be easy to assemble, but break when you try to take it out after 10 years ;)
