The village of Ktikados in Tinos: "Harmonious coexistence and traditional tradition..."
Ktikados is a traditional and particularly picturesque village, near the town of Tinos with a unique view of Kionia .
The heyday of Ktikados peaked in the 18th century, but from finds in the area it appears that it was already inhabited since geometric times.
Walking through the village, you will come across most of the typical elements of Tinian architecture (traditional houses and churches, cobbled alleys, arches, lintels, fountains, laundry).
The village is mixed and the population is divided, with the Catholic and Orthodox elements coexisting harmoniously.
It is worth visiting the Catholic church of the Holy Cross, one of the oldest on the island, and the orthodox church of Ypapanti (or Megalomata) with the icon of Panagia Megalomata.
The two major festivals of the village are the Elevation of the Holy Cross (September 14) and Ypapanti (February 2).
In Ktikados, the custom of Agapi is revived on Easter Monday .
For hiking, the path that starts from Ktikados and leads to Chora is offered.
Access
It is 6 km from Chora. You are following the new Tinos-Panormos road network (starting from Tripotamos Avenue). At the central intersection, continue left and after about 600m turn left towards Ktikados
