As someone who is trying to get back into things that bring me life, doing card tricks has brought me joy again. I love seeing people's faces in awe trying to figure out what I'm doing. These are great to great tutorials 🙌
So glad you have rekindled your joy for card magic, there is a lot to love about it and about the ability to share that joy with other people.
That’s so great and very relatable. We wish you the best. 🖤
Magic, conceptually isn't realistic. We know that. The real magic is in the wonder on the spectators face. The not knowing; and this deception always brings a smile upon my face.
Great effect!
I've done this a few times and made adjustments to my setup pile.
The odd card is placed in the middle of the setup pack instead of the bottom and I use a black card on the bottom as my spotter. Spread the entire deck faceup to start to show everything and then create my two piles from there.
An extra final reveal I use, I have another full deck of cards in the box on the table beforehand and mentioned I've also made a prediction the day before revealing in the other deck a face down card being the final odd card.
Reactions are pretty amazing. During the shuffling process, I let them riffle shuffle etc, do all the mixing.
Thanks for sharing this trick.
Genius!! I'm a try this out later
This is an OLD effect and I’ve always loved it. I used to keep a folded paper with multiple folds that would reveal the predictions. Ended up opening to a full page showing the final prediction. Good stuff. EDIT: made this comment before the video finished. I see you mentioned the paper. Mine was printed out but same idea. 😂
What?! I have not seen the solution yet but this is like magic!
Amazing trick mate...thanks bro
great trick.. will try today on my walk about..
Amazing ❤ mind-blowing magic 🎉
You're spreading joy and surprise. I am using your tricks as I go around to Senior Living facilities, re-hab facilities and entertaining shut-ins. Your tricks are so much fun to perform and they never fail to bring joy to the spectators. Thanks from all of them!
Wonderful! What a beautiful way to use magic. Good on you!
What a great effect! Absolutely loved that one. Really convincing with how mixed up they all are right from the get go!👍👍
Glad you like it!
Holy cats! Mind blown.
thank you very much.
I started a new social care job recently, supporting young males in residential care. They were having a bbq today: I'd made it known at my interview I liked doing card magic. One of my colleagues remembered this, and invited me to do some. I did this one in front a group - along with a couple of others you've posted. They all went down very well - which was a relief 😊
Great job man! Sounds like you smashed it! Keep up the good work
Excellent. Love your effects. One word of caution: When you spread the cards to divide into 2 packs , make sure you keep the cards above the 3D together. I messed up by splitting them the wrong way ... duh !! Lol... In presenting the deck . My way to do this : Spread cards face down and ask - " are any of these cards face up ? " they say no .. Now turn them over and say - are any face down? - they'll say no .. now pick them up and spread them in your hands , slowly adding, and all the cards are mixed right? - at this moment you can cut at the 3D and kinda compare packets , saying OK, this looks like 2 evenly cut packs -- which one do you want ?? Boom ! Nice touch-- makes no difference who has which packet . ❤
Good point!
I saw this trick a good five years ago, i really gobsmacked when i saw it, then surprised how straightforward it is to do.
Your is different in a big way, especially when you shuffle the cards together. Yours is a lot quicker and easier to do.
That was the goal! Glad you like it
That was really good ❤
Awesome! My son and I are learning these. Amazed. Thanks!
My pleasure guys! Enjoy!
So fun. Love it. Thank you so much.
You are so welcome! 🙏
Excellent trick and explanation. I can't wait to try it out. Thanks
Hope you have fun with it. 🤞
Matt WOW!! What a trick thank you so much for sharing my new favourite trick take a bow 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
You're so welcome!
Wonderful 🎩
Love it!
Thanks!!
Matt...You're absolutely correct...I surprised myself, twice! There really is "magic" in the cards. Your style of presenting and teaching is a joy...I have now nailed 6 of your tricks and I think my grandsons will most likely drop their proverbial Jaws! Cheers
Awesome! Congrats 🥂 I’m sure your grandsons think you’re the best grandad ever!
Matt...did I hear you correctly during one of your video's that you offer "magic course" of sorts? If so, where do I find this link and additional info. Regards Tom...Toronto, Canada
An absolutely superb effect. I’ve been performing for 20+ years and this is completely new to me. It’s fooling everyone I’m showing it to. I LOVE it. Thank you sharing it with us.
Fantastic! Glad you’re using it buddy! Enjoy!
Appreciated your efforts for showing every single details also that canva thing thanks man keep making people happy❤️
Thank you so much 😀
Best..Card Trick…Ever!! 👏👏👏 Thank you
You're welcome!
Great! Beginner here, but I've been tinkering with a trick idea (no gimmicks or slights, easy force) and realized a shufflebored stack could be recycled at the end of shuffleboard for what I have in mind! I'd love to hear your thoughts and improvements, and share if you like it. Great videos!
That is one awesome trick. Gotta try this...
You should! Let me know how it goes!
Great performance. This is one of the best tricks I’ve had from BBM and this one has a different twist which is awesome
Thanks buddy, so glad you enjoyed it!
A really nice trick, well explained, thanks!
Thanks buddy!
I tried this - the first time it didn't work. However, after trying again, it worked. Tried a third time to make sure it wasn't a fluke - it worked again. I've done the instagram thing you spoke about (with a thanks to you in the description) and I can now add it to my arsonal of card magic/tricks 😊
Well done for keeping with it! It’s well worth the effort.
I’m not even sure how or why this works, but it does. Mind blown, thank you very much. 🖤
You’re welcome 😊
I think this is a great trick to follow another trick where you force the three of diamonds to be their chosen card. Also: I think the effect has much more impact if you leave the cards entirely in their hands after you split the deck into two packets. You can just instruct them easily from then on. They can shuffle both packets to their heart's content. You can explain to them how to make the flowers out of the packets. They can flip and mash to their heart's content. Once they've finished flipping/mixing and done the last flip and squished the piles together back into one, It doesn't even matter if they're in a neat pile. All that matters from there is which cards are face up and the fact that they match your prediction. Squaring the deck up yourself just creates unnecessary suspicion even though It's actually fair and you're not actually changing. anything. If they do everything after you split the deck for them, and you never touch the cards again during the trick, it will hit much harder.
Agreed 👍
@@MattMcGurkThanks for sharing this one!
Yes this is a fantastic trick. I did it only last week to a group and the reactions were great. I have the set-up above a short card do i can riffle up to the break.
Fantastic! Nice idea
Learned this also from Oscar Owen, your version is smoother and easier. Thanks for sharing!
Love this one 🤯😁♣️♥️♠️♦️
Wow what a great trick. You are giving me great pleasure as I am learning all your tricks as they are so much fun. Another truly great trick. Make sure you keep them coming
You got it!
When is the next trick coming
Soon. I’m going to try and film something this weekend. Very busy installing a show onboard the Celebrity Equinox, but it’s will be uploaded asap!
I am so saving this video. Great video
Awesome! Thank you!
Great trick! I saved this video and subscribed. Thanks for producing the video.
This is an amazing self working trick.
I've seen a very similar one that was called 'except the ace of spades' I can't remember it exactly but it was similar to this, I think the jokers were involved for some reason? Anyway, an impressive trick that is nice when you know you're not gonna stuff it up with a botched sleight of hand lol
Let’s you focus entirely on the presentation 👍
I love this trick. Reminds me a lot of Lennart Green’s ”Rain man” which I have been performing for many years. Simon Aronson first published the principle in 1980. By the way, it spells ”Shuffle-bored (it is a play on words).
That’s awesome! Yes I’ve combined a few ideas. Thanks for the shuffle bored insight, I missed that!
You are very welcome.
Another nice trick 😮
Thanks again 👍
Thank you for sharing this beauty, btw I just became your follower no. 10101 😂
That’s awesome man! Welcome to the family 👍
thank you sir. I'm getting back in magic since i was a 10year old. So thanks for these fantastic tutorials.
You're very welcome!
consider my mind blown - great trick
Thanks so much man!
Thanks. Figger'd out how it works, and developed other tricks on this format.
Good job!
This is very awesome
Thank you Rosie 👌🏻
Totally gob smacked. I’ll think I’ll be using this for….. ever!
We’ll done mate!
I just want to say .. I am very picky about the tricks I like to learn and perform .. there are so many on here that state they are the best trick ever and I end up turning it off even before the tutorial…. However .. this trick you showed ( and explained very clearly) is well up there with those I enjoy showing and leave the bewildered victim thinking …. How ??
That’s awesome man, I’m glad it made the cut! 👍
wow... this is incredible. I am wondering, how could it working... but i am wondering much more, how could someone find out such a trick? It is great! Many thanks for sharing with us! :)
It’s one of my favourite tricks. Many greats have worked on this idea. This is just my take on it. So glad you enjoyed it.
hi Matt as a kid you ran my magic circle you really supported me with the magic and drove me down to Blackpool one year for the convention, So weird seeing your face pop up on YT all these years later im 38 now! hahaha good to see you again.
Good hearing from you man, are you still dabbling?
@@MattMcGurkYeah not to quite the same level as when I was 12 but I do really enjoy watching the finger flinging stuff. I gave up on that muscle pass in the end though I remember you blew my mind with it and I practised for ages after. I still use that retention vansih you taught me as well it gets everyone and learning the pass at that age as well haha life skills bro thank you.
So this trick could be done with any cards, and any number of cards as long as it doesn't look too uneven. Which means you could make any prediction you like in any way, which is nice. My first thought was to have a second deck of cards where the top cards are the same, in a random order, and use them to predict what cards should be.
Absolutely buddy! You can taylor this howvwer you like. If you come up with any good ideas, just let me know!
You made another prediction that came true.... I fooled myself!
Another BRILLIANT trick. Thank you so much. Cant wait to try this one out in the community,
Could you give a bit more detail where/how you created the slide on your instagram? Many thanks. Btw, Ali Bongo had a very way of unfolding the paper predictions.
Hey! The slides can be created very easily in any photo editing program. Just make the slides 9:16. You can customise the font and style to your liking. Hope this helps 👍
I once watched a movie, produced in around 1993....but i dont know it's title. A young newbie magician showed how to make dissapear a coin in his hand to a professional magician. The professional magician responded by snapping his fingers and produces the whole deck of cards in his hand. Tilli now i am still wondering if such a trick can be done, or just a special effect 🤔
Great performance, hope you're enjoying the cruise (assuming you're still on it)
Loving it thanks! Great ship and the crowds have been fantastic ❤️
Learned this from Oscar Owen. I like your version better. Thanks!
Awesome! Thank you. That’s very kind!
A fantastic order from chaos effect. Nice tutorial as well. 👍👏💪😊🪄✨️✨️🍻
Hi Matt, if one wants to do several self working tricks in a row but they require different set ups, how do you deal with that. Thanks!!!!
Good question!, I generally will only perform one set up trick at a time. It may be possible. It’s just a matter of pairing up the tricks so that the first doesn’t disturb the order from subsequent tricks
Just unreal.. thank you so much this is fucking awesome 😂😂😂
Glad you liked it buddy!
Great trick! Quick question though. How do u make it sio the spectators actually flip over a pack over easily? I find that some ppl arent good at handling cards and might drop a few cards from the mess.
You can omit the Rosetta shuffle with those spectators. Just have them cut some off one pile, turn them face up and then riffle shuffle them into the other pile. You can always do the riffle shuffle for them and have them push the cards together. I much prefer not to touch the cards and have them do the mixing.
I think selecting spectators that are used to handling cards is key. You can see this when you hand the cards out for shuffling at the start. Watch them shuffle and you’ll be able to tell the people are used to handling cards and the ones least likely to drop them. Hope this helps.
@@MattMcGurk ah, so u r saying that the ppl who at least know how to Overhand shuffle should be able to do this?
I'm glad I don't have to understand HOW the trick works! Thank you for sharing! I can't wait to show the grandkids!!!
Great trick. How would you do this if you're a grown man who's not on social media?
You could do it in the original way, I show it briefly in the video by having each part of the prediction hidden in a folded piece of paper, so that when you unfold it, it shows a new part of the prediction. See 5:53 for an example
#Lennart Green #Rain Man #Paul Wilson #Feeling nostalgic
❤
Question: Does it matter what shuffle is used by either yourself or your audience ?
Brilliant trick by the way !
No, as long as the cards are cut flipped and shuffled into the other half you can mix them however, even a casino wash. Just make sure that no cards flip over accidentally as you do it.
Many thanks.
Classic.
wow this is so old you made a small change to the end I did this so many years ago Ali Bongo showed it to me like 40yrs or more ago I think it was his trick.
This is one of my favourite tricks that always fools 👍👍👍👍
Yes one of my favourites too!
He said that they will surely say the 3 of diamonds is not even. I tried this on my parents none of them realised 😂😂😂😂
Ah! 😂 Well you may have to help some people out! 😂😂😂
This is just brilliant, thanks for the reveal. But I'm wokdering5, how are you able to reveal this without the inventor getting super mad at you?
This is my combination of several ideas by various people who have released versions of this trick. Hope you enjoyed it
Matt, I’ve tried the trick 15 times and it isn’t working. Followed your directions exactly but it keeps giving me the wrong numbers. I can’t figure out what I may be doing wrong. Can you help?
Feel free to send me a video buddy, I can take a look. You’re definitely doing something different, we just need to figure out what it is!
Is it possible to do the trick without making the flowers with the cards?
Absolutely. When they cut a pile and turn them face up, just have them riffle shuffle them into the opposite pile.
Thanks so much for the reply
Remonds me of an Aldo Columbini effect
Yes Aldo was an absolute legend. It wouldn’t surprise me if he had a take on this. Superb magician.
Is this the Gilberth principal? What is the source of the trick?
Hey, no this is not the Gilbert’s principle. I traced the trick as far back as I know. The trick started with Simon Aronson, but many magicians have developed the idea since.
@@MattMcGurk awesome! Thank you, I’ll explore more about it too..
use vine boom instead of that explosion
it'll be funnier
Thanks for the tip? Where can I get it?
it doesnt work for me i follow each step exactly but its always off theres always more face up cards lots of uneven reds and yeah what are the importants you cant. mess up
nvm i just cracked it haha
Awesome!
There was someone with the last name McGurk on Fox News. He appeared along with Greg Gutfeld on O'Reilly's show. Are you related to him?
Potentially! I’ll have a look!
@@MattMcGurk There's an I in his last name so you're not related. He got brain cancer and passed away.
Lennart Green original trick ☝👌
Yes
Since when is a 5 even?
Correct, 5 isn’t even 👍
@@MattMcGurk Yeah, ignore me. The 6 ❤️ looked like a 5 from my view.
Lennart green
Yes as credited in the video 👍
It’s good but it’s hardly the best card trick in the world. I mean, I do a signed card to wallet with the card being under my driver’s license sleeve, in a buttoned pocket, with an examinable wallet. That trick kills and has beat both Penn and Teller and Uri Geller.
Congratulations! Thanks for your support.
The commercial in the intro is just way too much over the top. Typical american style... 🤢🤮🤮🤮
😂 thanks for the feedback
But,i don't understand, why does it work? how does it function.... please answer!!
It’s Magic! And there is no better feeling than wonder. It’s not important to know exactly why it works, just enjoy it and use it to bring others joy.
