    Great video! I have a 2001 Saab 95 SE auto estate on which I'd like to replace the head unit, but with an android unit which will play CD's, too. I'm old hat, I know. Could you please help me out by picking a unit which will fit as snug as a bug, I hope? A mid price unit would be fine. Also, if you have experience with the latter fitment can you please list the other components I will or may need? This is my first time attempting anything like a head unit switch; my apologies for being a pain. Thanks.

    • @nathanmacnaughton9763
      @nathanmacnaughton9763 Před rokem

      Yes. If you aren't using rca cables, which is very hard to do with the stock amp considering it doesn't have any ports and it just has a big loom, then you have to buy a converter to avoid white/buzzing noise created by the signal being amped by both the aftermarket stereo and also the stock amp (located on the right hand side of the car frame down by the drivers feet on a rhd car or on the passenger side on a lhd car.) You can buy a converter pretty easily online, just have to get one for Bose / Harmen amps. I got mine from InCarTec and I find it works pretty well.

You could also look into a ground loop isolator, there are lots of videos and forums explaining how they work. Your problem does seem to be more of a ground problem. If the buzzing gets worse when you rev the engine look into a ground loop isolator. But get back to me on what car you have and I'll link you a converter. Also secured with two of the provided screws to the cage. The cage is now a little bit warped but it did fit back into the console and ended up quite flush with the rest.
