My coach says that I am leaning right (I’m rowing with a starboard oar). Does anyone have any advice. I don’t feel as if I’m leaning so I don’t really have a reference point
Main trick with leaning is focusing on sitting on both your butts equally, just stabilize your hip by using some core muscles. Howeve best way to analize the problem is by filming your rowing in an angle where this leaning could be seen. The look how and perhaps also consider why your leaning. From there you can try to fix it. Furthermore you probably dont feel like your leaning since it might be just be a little bit and your body is just to the position so it doesnt feel off.
@@graceringwood9938, I had thought about that; but I had also asked myself, "Is such drag significant?" I suppose if it had not been, you would not have mentioned it. And it does make sense, with a blade so long and wide.

My coach FRICKIN INSISTS that my inside arm showuld be flat......
Why rotate the blade? Is that not too much of an effort?
Its to prevent drag with the wind. If you keep the blade in the square position (perpendicular to the water), it will slow the boat down.
