Thank you for these - I started BJJ-classes abt 1,5 months ago and these "basic" videos are a good way to learn stuff. Everyone teaches techs a little bit different, so you never know which way is best for you. I get those attacks from mount much better after watching this, so thanks again!

Very good stuff. Watching these videos as a beginner white belt, yesterday’s class if realized that I wasn’t getting smashed anymore. I tapped out everyone I rolled with yesterday and also noticed that I’m finally making transitions to side control with less effort and saving a lot of energy not have to muscle my way to side control. Thank you for your great tutorials. I can’t wait for the tournament in Houston Texas January 23. I’m psyched

Your videos are very informative and helpful. I've been on the edge about starting Jiu-Jitsu, but after watching your videos and getting a better understanding of the in-depth breakdowns of the fundamentals, I feel more confident about starting out and more motivated to join a gym. Keep up the good work!

I just had my 2nd jiu jitsu class and at the ended up sparring with 4 different members at the end of the class. Unfortunately the last person I had to sparred was 6'5 350lbs and is in decent shape, its not just a big person, its a giant! I was crushed to the point where I couldn't even breathe because of exhaustion and him applying all his weight on my chest. I dont want to get that crushed again since my chest is still sore and wondering what would be the best positions for me to keep myself from getting squished? I am only 150lbs with short legs and dont even think my legs can wrap around his waist lol

It seems the people that handle it the most frame against me with a good grip and a scissor sweep set up to keep my weight off of them. Just be careful not to get your knee pushed down cause the pressure will be back.
