IRON Series 30 Min Dumbbell Leg Workout - Calves Included | 11

  • A straight forward but seriously intense leg day session to build strength and muscle in the hamstrings, quads, glutes with some calf isolation in there too!
    The timer will be on for 60 seconds per exercise with 30 seconds rest inbetween each set!
    For this workout you will need some dumbbells, your mat and a yoga block/stepper to elevate the front foot during lunges.
    The dumbbells I am using for your reference are 2 x 15kg dumbbells. I will also use 1 x 20kg dumbbell for the paused goblet squats at the beginning of the workout!

    Oh man....I hate leg day and I really hate lunges...and I hated every minute of that...many expletives were used throughout....but I'm soooooo glad I pushed through and did it! Thanks for pushing me Caroline! Your workouts are the best!!!

    My favourite series so far. The length of each workout is just perfect, I am always in a rush but want to have a nice workout. The format is perfect for me. It is challenging enough, on some days I wish I had bigger weights, currently using a pair of 10 kg each and one of 5 kg each. Thank you Caroline for offering us these amazing workouts. Time spent with you is both beneficial and mentally balanced. We will be forever grateful! 😍🌷🐰

    The audacity at the end to ask if I enjoyed this workout 😂 I’m enjoying it now that it’s done! I didn’t think it was possible to do lunges for half an hour but my shaky legs will be reminding me all that that I did it.

    I don’t usually comment, but there was so many negative comments on this I felt I should. I loved this. This was a good, SOLID leg day! Yes, it is longer work periods, but that’s when you adjust the workout to suit your level of fitness. For example; if you don’t want to work for 60 seconds, set a number of reps you want to hit and use the rest of the working period for your rest. This is what j do because personally I like to go heavier with my weights. I’ll get a good 10-12 heavy reps in, and rest for the remainder of the time. Thank you Caroline for these amazing workouts! I am so glad I found you! 🩷

    I have to tell you, leg day has always been my least favorite day. I have knee injuries in both knees that limit my mobility, specifically the depth I can manage when squatting and lunging. This is my fourth program with you, and slowly but surely my lunges and squats are getting deeper and my legs getting stronger. I wasn’t able to touch my back knee to the ground before your programs, and now I do it every time. I am grateful that your workouts have forced me to slow down, and above all, perform the movement correctly. My knees have been pain free for the longest time, and I attribute it to the strengthening of the muscles surrounding them. Thank you for this! Although physical body transformations are exciting and most sought after, I am most pleased with the strength and mobility I have achieved. We take so much for granted until we are injured! You are an amazing trainer and human being. I am forever grateful, Caroline!

      You can do it!!! I am 57 and I just keep trying and keep going. The first week on Fuel I couldn't even do any weights. lol. I feel so accomplished now on Iron because I am up to 10 pds!! You got this!!

      Never a true word said Matthew. The finisher will do just that once the calf sequence is finished. Walking may be painful for a few day!! 😂😂. Caroline's calf sequences are brutal!

      Hi Briana...I was excited too...and I loved it! I really enjoyed the lunges...as my weights are only 12,5 kg I used the yoga block for all the weighted lunges and found that worked well! I loved the craft sequence, finisher and add on! All great! Happy Monday! Matthew

    WOW. I am now aware I needed lunge work. Good grief…incredible workout that totally exhausted my legs…I am shaking uncontrollably and that FINISHER…it finished me. I LOVE YOU, CAROLINE. You are the best! You got me good, my body doesn’t know what hit me…hah…I shall walk carefully today…:)

    I won't get tired of thanking you, Caroline, for great workouts👍👍👍 After them, I am energized for the whole day. Today I stopped at 54% to catch my breath, the pulse was 174. And also, it's good that no one sees my face during calf exercises, you can see bulging eyes, nervous smile and just horror🤣🤣🤣, but I like it, thank you🤩🤩🤩🤩

    These are my favorite workouts. I love that they are shorter in duration and I can increase my weight ability. I think I will do this series more than once. Sometimes the longer workouts overwhelm me and I need to wrap my head around it. These I look forward to so much. Thank you Caroline, you are doing such a wonderful job for us all.

    Thank you Caroline for sharing this amazing content with us. My girlfriend introduced me to your chanel. We did your advent calendar and epic endgame together. Now we are focusing on Iron. It’s great to work out together and we are both having a lot of fun. Additionally, I personally don’t miss the gym at all with your workouts. Haven’t thought about being a homework guy before the end of 2021.

    Love it when leg workouts include calves - with the calf raises, it's a bit surprising just how much I feel ALL my leg muscles working including quads and glutes. For legs, I'm still at 7.5kg each and don't feel ready to up them yet, but did this day's BW finisher with weights for more of a challenge.

    I'm glad that I chose to jump into IRON after completing Epic I, II & III, bc this program has been really agreeing with me! Really enjoy the 60s work/30s rest: I'll go slow and steady, focusing on form and breathing, and like that the workout flies by. It's quite relaxing, in a way. I also feel encouraged to lift heavier, which has been going great. I was unsure the first two days bc I would complete the workout feeling great, filled with energy and wondering whether I did enough, whether I should do something extra. I didn't because I trust you, and this trust has certainly been reinforced by the soreness in my muscles in the days following lol. 30 min is most definitely enough, I've learned. Tbh, the past 3 months have been odd for me. Yes, I've been working out diligently but I've succumbed to binge eating quite badly. I've never experienced this before so I've been struggling to get a grip on it. I'm hoping to break the cycle by loosening the reigns: no more weighing and logging everything I consume, no more weighing myself, no more additional exercise and allowing myself to have what I'm craving. I will consider it a win if I can manage a clean month. Trying over and over again with the food tracking hasn't been working, and may have ended up having the opposite effect on me, I suspect. We'll see. Anyway, despite all that, I feel like my body has still been changing for the positive.Taking in my body visually and by touch, I keep looking better (especially so since starting IRON - idk if it's my imagination or not). And I keep getting stronger, which is what really matters. I'll do my best to tame this beast 😤😤😤😤 I'm grateful to you always. Thank you, Caroline. I hope you and your family are warm and well

    A calf sequence and a bodyweight finisher. We are going to be in for some serious burn 🔥 today. Lots of lunges to keep us on our toes.

      Bet you weren't smiling for long when you got into this session 🤣🤣 as Caroline says it is seriously intense. Unreal burn. The calves were really hard to do for some reason. Struggled to keep holding the weights today for some reason. Used 2x15kg & 20kg for gotblet. Add on done too calisthenics lower body and a favourite of mine but was fiery after the other session. Bulgarian lunges caught me today as legs were tired but ploughed on. A great way to start this week.

      @@annereidy515 Goodness Anne you really did go for it today. Some days we're just more weary then others. It sounds to me as if you really loaded the weights for this workout so not surprised the callisthenics add on felt hard. BLs get em every time!!
      Definitely a brilliant start to the week, though that said this series has been superb all round so far and I'm sure Caroline will keep us pushing those workout boundaries for a few more weeks to come. Enjoy the rest of the bank holiday weekend. Catch up tomorrow.

    All I can say is thank you for not adding a hold onto the forward lean for the finisher! 😂 That was a tough leg day and I started sweating the first minute! Did the add on 20 minutes and that was tough but glad it was body weight only❣️🌹

    I did this after the hamstrings focused workout (day 16). At the beginning, during the elevated lunges I felt invisible tears roll down my face (so poetic), but then I surprisingly started to enjoy this whole thing!
