- Satori is a yokai from Japanese mythology, known for its ability to read minds. Inhabiting the mountains, it takes the form of a monkey. By reading thoughts, Satori causes fear and confusion in people. It represents the concern with the unknown and the anxiety of having one's most intimate thoughts revealed.

Makes sense some people would be paranoid about their thoughts getting out back then. I wonder what other mind reading things there are in different mythologies
How does it make sense ?
@@I.love.you.ways777 because people where much more superstitious back then do to a lack of understanding of how the universe works. So given our tendency of thinking up creatures, spirits, and demons to explain away things or to scare children into doing what we wanted of them. It makes sense to me that this particular demon was born out of paranoia. I mean who wouldn't be a little nervous for having treasonous thoughts in a time when executions for such a thing where so common. Add a little superstition and one can easily see how people would worry about their deepest thoughts getting out because of a demon or something of the sort.
More Yokai please!
It is nice to have a Pokemon based on the Satori ~ being Munkidori
And some characters in Touhou Project
There is alot of them in Finland too !
It's a captivating journey into the realms of animal cognition and human fascination. Truly unforgettable!
Satori is "the enlightment" achieved after a long meditation process on either buddhism religion or zen philosophy...
Interesting

Seems to me like it would only be harmful to those who have harmful thoughts.
Reading minds just like pegasus with his millennium 👁️
Further proof that Kami & Yokai are the same thing. I'd be surprised there aren't shrines worshipping Satori as Kami of therapy & self-discovery.
