I refuse to believe Viren dies because of a few things
1. The "happy ending" team Zym achieved feels off, so something is going down.
2. Viren and Soren need to talk 😭😭😭
3. I refuse to believe he just died w/o talking to Claudia one last time - maybe he thinks it won't do her much good but she *needs* that closure!!!

So what happened basically is that they showed the first episode of s6 and I spoiled it for my self(hehe) so it’s confirmed that viren is dead and also the teaser trailer remember what Claudia said?
(Smth along the lines) “ my mom left me, my brother left me and my dad is gone” soooooo ig he’s dead😐
It really would be a great plot twist for the "bad team" to need to stop the others from freeing him.

I’m not convinced that Viren is fully dead either. The QnA on the dragon prince website after season 4 stated that their are still some meaningful interactions between Soren and Viren coming up, where they address Soren’s trauma over what happened at the Storm Spire. How can that happen if Viren isn’t alive?
I think that even the sacrifice might have been more of a test of Viren’s conviction to dark magic. That or maybe the spell was more what was needed to free Aaravos.
I just hope he isn’t dead, just because I feel like there is a lot more we need to see from Viren. Season 5 made him so much more interesting. I want to see more of his backstory, and also his relationship with his children and possible “redemption”.
I put redemption in quotes because he’s done a lot of messed up stuff that can’t ever be forgiven. (What he did to Rayla’s family and the Sunfire elves just to name a few). But like what his younger self said, he can still move forward and choose to be better, even after everything he’s done. Do with him what they did with King Andrias from Amphibia, where he realizes his mistakes, helps saves the day, and that earns him a lighter punishment.

Maybe he's not, but the way he realized that he'd taken such a dark path and chose to avoid further dark magic with the realization Claudia was following in his footsteps, I think based on the cliffhanger he's dead since it was almost implied he'd already chosen to distance himself from his past mistakes and let himself die as "redemption"
If he doesn't die I'd love to see him become more like Callum and learn to sense or connect with the arcanum, maybe he could use his arcane knowledge to further "train" Callum while try to help Rayla, especially since he was trying to help himself and improve his standing

i think aaravos cant lie because of his connection to stars and how stars can tell the future and stuff, but nothing is stopping aaravos from telling half lies, like you said, so maybe he wanted to come back in virens body, which is what he meant went viren would rise, he wouldn't rise mentally but his body would. since aaravos isn't in his body he might still be alive? idk, but i love your theories ❤️❤️
I hope he's still alive somehow as well. A moment between him and Soren would be cool but I'd be more interested in a moment between him and Rayla. Remember she dedicated the last 2 years of her life searching for him, I'm curious how she'll react when she finally gets to confront him and he apologises for all the shit he put her through.

It would be so fun in a way if they're forced to interect but Rayla can't kill him, like he was the firts person he have ever killed, her instintics are all telling her to do it again, but she has to stay there and look at his dead face HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH, poor Rayla

I too believe that Viren isnt dead. From what I have heard, Viren re-alived Sorin with the same spell Claudia used to re-alive Viren, But the weird thing is that Sorin didnt die after a month so yes I do belive that Viren isnt dead
I would love it if viren joined callum and gang and acted as a figure to steer callum away from the temptations of dark magic by using it himself and try get Claudia to give up dark magic or perhaps the two of them later become primal mages
Viren clearly is not dead yet at the end of season 5 so the fact they did not kill him off at the end of the season almost certainly means he will live on next season either by what you said where the resurrection spell wasnt actually temporary or if claudia refuses to let him die and does it herself or something
At first i thought Viren get what he deserved when Rayla "killed him" in S3 but now each time i watch the end of S5 i feel very very sad for him because this time he'll leave this World full of regrets and haunted by all his mistakes. i really hope that somehow he'll survive and help Team Zym to defeat Aaravos and save Claudia from what she became by his fault both.

OK!! U change my mind, now i also think Viren isn't dead. But i still am very sure Aaravos have never lied, i mean, in that theory u said, how much of it was really a lie?? People a lot of times forgot that lies and hiding the truth isn't the same thing. In a lie u change the truth, u tell someone what u want them to hear, but hiding the truth is only about not getting in the subject the person wanna hear, Aaravos has done that before in ig his second interection with Viren (After the...birth....rise....idk of Sir. Sparklepuff). I have to admit with or without theorys, im very confuse of how they're gonna solve that puzle in season 6, is so much happening at once

If Viren dies then this would the final nail in the coffin for this show. Why did the show spend so much time redeeming Viren? What would even be the point if no one knows that viren has redeemed himself? His redemption arc would be filler and would only exist to convince us that Viren wasn't pure evil.
Viren needs to interact with our heroes before his death.

I think in S6 Viren will survive through a deus ex machina. I mean Zubeia gets saved by a mushroom mage that appears out of nowhere. Viren will be captured by the sunfire and turned to be the same kind of prisoner like the bloodmoon huntress. Viren is an adult and should interact with other grown ups like Amaya and Janai. Also he gets confronted by the same people he had hurt the most.
Duh, Aravos already lied to Claudia that she needs to release him from his prison in order to make Viren resurrection permanent.
If it was indeed a sacrifice of homunculi that was necessary, than it could have been done immediately after it hatched from the cocoon.
Aaravos sent Claudia and Viren on wild goose chase in order to generate noise - which they did by killing Ibis - which caused his prison to be found and recovered.
Team Claudia would have never found the prison on their own.
In fact, Claudia would have never even got a map out of Rex due to not knowing about him having a map in the first place rather than knowing that Rex "knows" prison location (which he doesn't), if not for Callum figuring it out.
It was all a scheme to make team Zym recover the prison.
If the gang just sit in their castle eating jelly tarts nothing would've happened.
Next season Callum will get the knowledge of how to open the prison and them - drum roll - Aaravos will mind control his and get free.
Or something among these lines.
I dont think that Verin is going to die yet cause he walked away without knowing what happened to Claudia her leg was cut off by Rayla so when he sees Claudia in the condition that she in he might change his ways and go back being Aarivous's puppet and grab the Prison stone from Erin or Callum. Even though he told Aarivous that he is done with him but when he his Claudia in that state that she is in he might relay on Arrivous again it could be possible or Terry tells Verin what happened to Claudia.
I really don't want Callum to get possessed or die but I know the show and they will do something like it but I really hope they don't because Callum went through enough already. I will say this Aaravos said when the sun rises and remember the dying breath just means it's the last big breathe they take before death and Viren would be alive until the sun shines on his body and if they will keep Viren alive it may be in the form of a spirit or Aaravos meant Viren's body won't rise but his soul will and he may go into sir Sparklepuff's body I know I don't have evidence to back it up but it could mean it that way. For your question if Aaravos can or can't lie well here's the thing you can lie but still tell the truth or tell the truth but still lie and this is what I mean by that if you lie to someone about the truth that's a lie but if you tell a lie to someone it doesn't necessarily mean it's a lie so take this Callum lies to Rayla that he was okay after using dark magic the second time that lie was the truth he was okay physically but not mentally so you can lie and it can still be the truth now the second part you can tell the truth but still lie like Aaravos said he could revive Viren but he lied but not saying how he would do it or take it like this you can say that King Harrow died which he did but from the scene with him in season 5 we can see that while the writers did tell the truth he died but really his spirit was in the bird so they told the truth he died but they lied that his spirit was in the bird so i think you understand now sorry that took so long. I was thinking maybe do a theory on Janai and Amaya and what their relationship will be like in season 6 and what could happen and what their wedding may be like.

Why everyone misses the point that Aaravos already have lied? Let me explain.
When Aaravos possesed Callum, he said to Rayla "The moonshadow assasin, who - can this be right - isn't capable of killing?"
At this point, we all (including Aaravos) know Rayla is capable of killing, if she is pushed enough. She already killed Viren once (and spent two seasons trying to hunt him down again).
Also, when he said to Soren "The failed son, whose father wishes he had never been born" - Anyone who knows Viren knows it is not true. He maybe wasn't the best father, and maybe he is disappointed in Soren, but he would never wish such a thing. He sacrificed so much to save him when he was sick (including his merriage), and he refuses to kill him, even when his own life is at stake.
Two lies. Which makes his statement "I never lie" to a lie. So three.
So from that point, I can't really believe anythign Aaravos said.

Azula always lies. Aravos never lies. But he does stretch & bend the truth.
I dont think he died, i honestly think that aravos lied to him so they can be scared and try to release aravos immediately.
So in fact considering that Viren saved his son from a mysterious death so it would of made sense considering it's been how long.

Thanks for this video tbh I was crying then I saw Viren on that beach at this position. Idk why but I’m really attached to him. I know he did a lot wrong but idk, he really loves his children. Even if his son struck him with his sword, we didn’t see any bad emotion about that during his Black Magic dream thing.
