This stuff boring?
I don't find it to be. Fishing is fishing and if I can't get out there at least I can watch you catch. Tight lines man
I second this comment. Keep them comin Elias !
Fishing is never boring, just gimme a pole and a big enough mud puddle and I'm occupied for hours! 😊
Hell no, it's winter in most of the US. If were not fishing were dreaming of it.
Did you hit your head on one of the bridges in Florida? 😁
Great video, what a nice calm day on the water. Love catching stripers no matter the size.
Thanks so much.
Anything but! Saw the video post earlier today but couldn't watch until work calmed down. You hinted about perch, and I was anxious to see that happen. I'm sure you will before end of winter.
Welcome back, man!
Welcome back to North Carolina , love to watch you fishing near the Cape Fear area
Definitely not boring. I’m really intrigued with the cruise control on the ePDL, can’t wait for the warmer weather to see what you do trolling in the big pond with it. I wanna pick up one of these by mid year so I really appreciate the content dude, especially since you’re brutally honest.
I got more effective time on water in the keys with it then I could have ever hoped for. Love it.
Really enjoy the videos. Wish we had action like that in California. And those lures you used looked really good, didn't know it was your brand, bought a few packs today.
You are a fine fisherman . Nice sea trout !!
Nice to see you're back home in nc. Probably not as much fun as the Keys fishing for you. Good to see you catching some good stuff.
The fishing never seems to turn out to be as bad as you say it will be.Under promise over deliver.
Love the vids!
moving to South Carolina next year.... I wouldn't mind seeing more NC stuff
Man, I'll take one of your 'tough' days anytime, Elias. Without going back to count, you must have boated over 20 fish in this trip.
Schoolie stripers make for a great winter trip in southeast NC !
nice winter action
👍😎✌
"a little scent, Procure 'bacon"
😂😂
Thanks Elias
Elias. If you did a blind taste test with fish. Which fish would you correctly identify? I think trout, flounder, tuna and spanish mackeral would be identifable. But in my experience people cant distguinsh most of the white meat fish, grouper, snappers, sea bass, striper, drum, sheepshead, grunts, porgy, mahi, spot, croaker. This would make a good video!
Youre one of the only pro Fisherman i see consistently using attractant. Obviously you see results or youd stop using it. Comments?
The Angler's cologne😆
It makes a difference. Not every single time. But there are times it does in my opinion.
Nope, love it. I even like watching my own at times lol
not sure what makes some of the Penns so loud. the spinfisher and slammer gets loud almost immediately even if you grease em thoroughly
I enjoyed it also
Striper filets make mighty fine tacos! Give it a try…. Our min length in AR are 18 inches, 2 daily
To me the first trip out after Florida is one I almost have to be convinced to make.
I did have a tingle of excitement to go out!
Aloha. That’s funny.
You should try a day targeting speckled trout
I probably will before winter is over 👍
Another enjoyable day on the water with you! Thanks for taking me along. How much longer are you staying in the keys? You're missing all the crappie weather up here in N.C.!
I am back in NC
This is NC vid
Aloha. That’s not a Keys fishing outfit.
Wishing that this kind of fishing was available out here in Oregon. No such luck with brackish water species.
Any tips on where to launch a kayak with light boat traffic in Wilmington? I usually go to Wrightsville Beach and skunked on both my outings during the Summer. I'd love to hook on some stripers or drum.
I would ask at a local tackle shop.
🎣🤙🏼
welcome home.
Small is ok. A guy’s gotta eat! 😅 🐟
this hot cold high low pressure system switches weve had the last week probably got em hiding deep i assume to find consistency in water conditions?
It's honestly like roulette imo.
A person needs a fair bit of experience to know how good you really are.
Just dedicated to good times, and the grind...
Aloha, and I agree. I started fishing as a kid in Ohio. Have fished, Florida, Louisiana, California, Hawaii, and Alaska since. Still fishing. I don’t think people who just watch, realize how much time, effort, and homework Elias puts in. Shame. Their loss.
Very enjoyable for us too. One of my fav fishing times was fishing the James River in Va. for dink stripers in Dec, caught a ton. A question for you Elias, with all the hours you put on the water, do you have a fav rod? The Dark Matters look like nice poles but I wonder why you don't break out w a Lomis or some super high end rods? I have a top of the line Okuma $200+ but honestly I'm afraid to take it in the yak even if it has a lifetime warranty.
I use the Jigging World Night Rangers the most for the heavier stuff and then Fenwick HMGs as my favorites. Try to keep it under $300
Silly question? Why would you buy a rod and not use it? What’s the point?
A boat rod, kayaking is brutal. It was a deal I could not resist. I do use it just not on the yak

Hey Eli I am contemplating getting a new Fenwick HMG 7’ to pair with a new Shimano Stradic 4000 I got for Xmas. I will mainly be using it inshore and near shore in SW Fla the Keys and in the panhandle in Appalachicola. Is yours the med or the med heavy? I’m thinking of going Med Hvy just for the big snook in S. Fla😎 whadda u think
Your videos provide variety so definitely not boring. I hate trolling as well but unfortunately it is a necessary evil to catch picky fish. I would rather jig or cast to cathem but at least with trolling I get my exercise. By the way, where are you placing your chest camera, chest mount? I think I like that view better than the one on your head.
Stripers are good eating but don't think I've ever eaten reds so I can't definitively comment.
Redfish is amazingggg
I live in Durham NC we used to catch the big stripers 20-40lbs at organ inlet but the big ones don’t seem to be around anymore. I assume this is the neuse river not cape fear since you live in Wilmington area. Do you ever catch any over 20lb nowadays
Biggest one I’ll catch in the winter will be maybe 15lb or so - bigger ones further north.
Elias, how much leader do you attach to your braid?
What is up with the striped bass? Are they regulated in that area? Preference on taste? Just curious.
Can't keep them here
Which rod is your favorite? Which reel is your favorite?
Your normal winter go-to is sheep head isn't it? You have to be missing them after being in the keys.
What net are you using
Custom built
Are the Striped Bass good to eat?
Hey man I know it’s a long shot but you don’t ever take a fan fishing do you? I know my time on the water is my peace time too but it’s be a dream to fish with you some time. Hobie pa12 no baby sitting required. (Not just trying to steal your spots)
Also somebody confused me for you the last summer when I was pulling into the Taylor creek boat ramp. They were like your that CZcams guy Elias right? I’m bald and clean shaven and look nothing like you. I just thought you’d get a kick out of that.
It would be nice to know where you're at. What state? What region?
SE NC
Great fishing why enjoy watching it why do you put those fish back are they big enough or can’t you eat them
Can't keep striped bass in NC
@@EliasVFishing Thank you very much for replying there’s some people that don’t bother to reply Best wishes from the UK
@@thomasknight1190Aloha. Please don’t be offended, but can you imagine how difficult it would be for every youtuber to respond to every comment? Especially the nasty ones? Most will respond to a specific question, and a lot of times, you’ll find your answers in the comments section itself.
Good video just a little to long for my taste
Hey I'm the 1st comment for once
Aloha. And you, my friend, get a cookie!
Do you plan on doing a real review anytime soon?
What reel? Those are mostly done on Patreon.
@EliasVFishing few years back you did a review about what reels worked well what held up and what didn't etc. It was very informative. I was hoping to see that again.
Has anyone seen the 2024 striper regs, master says we get to keep 2 stripers per this season, what did we ever do to deserve that ! Remember, rights don't require a permission slip we all have a god-given right to recreational fish for food fun therapy.
It's my right to poach as many fish as I want. I don't care if nobody else gets to catch fish ever again
Man I got excited and went and poured over the regs. I catch a lot of striper in new Bern during the spring. We still can’t keep them there right?
Not boring at all. It's February, do you know how many times I've considered how much jail time I'd get for making a few casts in that bass pro shop aquarium?
