Watching this back like 15 years later and seeing the explosion on the bridge just hits way harder as an adult and understanding exactly what Kurama did when taking away everything from his own daughter because he wanted to keep her alive. And such a cruel way to end it all, but I really hope Mariko finds happiness with her parents in the afterlife.

It’s heartbreaking to know the brief moment of the acceptance she craved for so long was all she had and ever will know. The only solace I can truly take from this is that she will not suffer anymore and is together with her family…
Your Lie in April was Ok, but it didn’t make me as sad as this. Probably because you figure out she’s gonna die earlier on. A Silent Voice was good, but the manga is way better! Had me crying in a lot of moments.
I honestly thought he wanted to protect Nana by pretending to love Mariko and sacrificing himself killing Mariko (Nana's enemy) knowing about the explosives but turned out he actually loved Mariko.
At least she died knowing she was wanted. Her story is heartbreaking considering another one of her kind damned her to be born like that. Her backstory is in episode 10
