About TAROM (from Wiki):
TAROM (Romanian pronunciation: [taˈrom]; legally Compania Națională de Transporturi Aeriene Române TAROM S.A.) is the flag carrier and oldest currently operating airline of Romania, based in Otopeni near Bucharest. Its headquarters and its main hub are at Henri Coandă International Airport. It is currently the first and largest airline operating in Romania based on international destinations, international flights and the second-largest measured by fleet size and passengers carried.
The brand name is an acronym for Romanian: Transporturile Aeriene Române (Romanian Air Transport). Over ninety-seven percent (97.22%) of TAROM is owned by the Romanian Government (Ministry of Transport). The airline transported almost 2.75 million passengers in 2018, with an average load factor of 74%. The airline joined SkyTeam on 25 June 2010.

The 737-500 was offered as a modern and direct replacement of the 737-200. It was launched in 1987 by Southwest Airlines, with an order for 20 aircraft, and it flew for the first time on June 30, 1989. A single prototype flew 375 hours for the certification process, and on February 28, 1990, Southwest Airlines received the first delivery.

I flew the same route last week, terrible experience with this company. You say it and I confirm it. When checking in, the ground stewardess was so grumpy that I thought, man, resign. When boarding there was no TAROM crew, no one was there. People stood up while the plane was taxiing to the gate. Not friendly people. Too bad, Romanians are friendly people, but that is hard to find in this society.

Around a month ago I flew on a TAROM Boeing 737-800.
From Arad to Antalya.
My flight was much different, we had checks, barely any turbulence but my least favourite part was the landing.
We had snacks, and we could even buy soup, etc.
Considering the comments, I'm surpirsed.
Maybe it's because you traveled on the 737-800 and not the -700, or maybe they improved in the meantime or maybe you were just lucky😂👍 Hope you had a nice time in Antalya, I just returned from there this week, video comming soon.
I had a flight from Suceava to Antalya and i can confirm what you say. I also flew with a 737-800 and the only thing i didn't like was the landing. Pretty hard, but alright.

Well you should try some airliners from North America. After you fly with Rouge in Canada, Tarom looks like Emirates 😄

I just flew it recently the opposite way you did . AMS to OTP. Having flown from OTP to MAD in February 2022 , I can say it has improved . They’re back offering catering services ( not the best food but decent as far as short haul flights get ) . They offer a selection of drinks and it’s actually quite nice . Give it a try again in the future .

I was flying TAROM a lot before COVID from AMS to KIV with a layover in OPT. The chairs are still better as the blocked middle seat at other airlines in Europe. Catering was always okay, cold salade and cold mean, coffee and liquor. Not great but oké. I prefer to fly with Turkish on that route because the have better business class but I think it’s still better as some other five star airlines where you get a apple and water on the same route.

tarom has a weird thing going on. they were left in the brink of bankruptcy. they plan to retire their 737-700, and all their A318s in favour of the B737 max

Well that's definitely one airline I won't be flying. Some aviation CZcamsr tried telling me that all European airlines have to operate under the same rules and regulations under EU law, which I knew wasn't the case. Many of them don't as you can clearly see here.

I dont know why you didnt get any welcome drinks or a meal as I flew on Tarom to Amsterdam on their 737-700 Happy 66 years livery and I was served food and a welcome drink.

I flew TAROM from Istanbul to Bucharest the other day using an older Boeing 737-700. I walked into a time capsule as large CRT monitors hung from the ceiling and the seats old and plushy. Plane could also have benefited from some water and soap. But an interesting experience none the less.
That's what I call an authentic aviation experience😂 You don't get that on many intra-European flights anymore
Hoe can this be a 4 hour flight? Bicharest Amsterdam should be less than 2.30hrs
I don't know, but I remember the flight taking about 4h. Maybe due to the airspace closure over Ukraine or due to weather / heavy traffic.

Departing from Bucharest, Amsterdam is to the WEST. Ukraine is to the EAST. What has Ukraine to do with this flight? Maybe it was heavy traffic and/or 1h time zone difference. 4.5 hours is way too much.
Imi pare rau dar in ultima calatorie cu Tarom Atena-Bucuresti-Timisoara si invers Timisoara-Bucuresti-Atena era un cosmar! A intirziat sa plece din Timisoara, am ajuns prea tirziu la Bucuresti( nu din vina mea) si am pierdut zborul inspre Atena, nimeni nu m-a ajutat, indrumat ca ce sa fac( nu calatoresc prea mult) in sfirsit am ajuns noaptea in Atena asteptindu mi valiza la care nu mi am primit valiza! Valiza mii se pierduse pe drum, 3 ore am stat la aeroport in Atena pina sa vada unde e valiza....binenteles nu mi au gasito! In urmare dupa 10 zile mi au gasit valiza rupta, zdrentuita, murdara, deschisaaaaaaaa (era cu cifru) mi era si scirba sa o ating! Mentionez ca valiza era noua, cumparata cu doua zile inainte de a calatori! Ai sunam la telefon si nu-i poti gasi nicicum! Jale mare! Intotdeauna imi terfelesc valiza ! In avion nu m-au servit cu nimic si aveam numai euro si nu am putut cumpara nimic ca nu aveau sa-mi dea rest la euro si asa am ramas si nemincata si insetata! Era un cosmar pt mine! As dori pe viitor sa se ocupe mai mult de pasageri si de bunurile (bagaje) noastre !
Si mi-au spart si multe di cadourile cumparate , trintesc valizele ca in constructii...😢😢

Based on your video I think that was a terrible performance from Tarom. And I was working for British Airways for fifteen years. Which included cabin crew on the route LHR to OTP and other routes pretty much worldwide.

What? At 2:08 you showed us the b737-700 business class and this version doesnt have IFE installed at all and true its old and they are going to be retired this year because they will be replaced by b737 max 8. But what i dont understand is that in the video you published you switched to b737-800 series business class that is leased for 6 years and used before by malaysian airlines and has IFE installed… you showed us two different aircraft… b737-700 then suddenly the b737-800 appeared that has sky interior by boeing and not an outdated cabin…. Plus Your video was filmed when tarom was in a restructure period now they serve full meals in business class with welcome drinks and others… regarding that window shades are not open or the safety breach well, you showed us two different aircraft at the beginning 737 700 that has outdated cabin and then the leased b737 800 that actually has a modern sky interior cabin so… as a viewer i cant believe in the fact that there was a safety breach due to your video having low credibility… it seems for me you just wrote a title to get viewers.

Rubbish. Tarom is not Europe's worst business class. In fact even your footage is a proof that it is in fact one of Europe's best business classes. You had a proper business class seats on your flight. Most western European airlines have an idea that an economy seating with the middle seat blocked off is somehow appropriate offering for triple the price of an economy ticket. Don't expect anyone in Eastern Europe to sympathise with your hurt feelings because no one greeted you at the entrance to the plane. Such detailed expectations really belong to Lufthansa group. Leave Tarom to us who appreciate it for what it is. Genuine Eastern European hospitality with kind people giving their best. In addition I also feel duty-bound to commend and congratulate Tarom on being brave enough to more or less ignore most of the silly epidemiological measures during the pandemic. No one bothered if passengers were wearing or not wearing masks, those westerners that were arrogant enough to complain were met by stewardesses' blazed typically Romanian disinterested shoulder-shrug and most amazingly of all - full catering service was never reduced or withdrawn as it was in most other airlines at the time. Tarom has been around for a very long time, they know their stuff and their customers - almost to the point of intimacy.

I flew with Tarom this week The plane inside and out was utterly filthy. There was a large dead insect inside of the window, mould growing on the cabin lighting. The carpets were threadbare and every horizontal surface was dark grey with filth and grime, not to mention the dried food spattered over the cabin walls. There was no complementary anything and it was not a cheap flight from Amsterdam to Bucharest. I could feel the metal frame of the chair through what was left of the seat cushion. It was utterly disgusting. If a national airline displays this sort of neglect in the cabin and the outside of the plane, heaven only knows what is going on under the hood. NEVER again. Shame on you Romania!

Not surprised, TAROM are constantly close to bankruptcy, nepotism is at it's finest among the employees within the company, it's like a leech that's constantly sucking off the public money from the government. 700$ for a passenger in that so called "business" is a total rip off and as a Romanian I apologize. Just, don't fly with them anymore. Safe travels!

Yep as It turned out I forgot to calculate the time difference🤦🏻♂️And the flight was over a year ago before I posted this video. Also I slept for almost the entire flight😂😅 I'm still figuring out how to make good videos as you can see hahahah
