On the resolution front a bunch of Cine cameras have high resolution sensors, notably the Komodo, V-Raptor and most other RED cameras.
That said it doesnât change the other aspects you mentioned. I LOVE my canon R6iiâs but hated the R5C. I couldnât get on with Sony as an ecosystem but I also love the footage from the FX3. If you need a stills body the A7RV has by far the nicest out of camera colour on a Sony, If I had to Sony it would be an FX3 and an A7RV, but for less money I can have 3 R6iiâs that give me identical colour and AF performance for interviews.
Like anything elseâs there are gonna be trade offs.
Very interesting to hear, you both are going to Sony. I have the same Problem. Owning the R5, but it is to bulky for me. For photo-stuff I use my Leica Q3, but for filmmaking the Canon is a little bit to lazy or for my purposes (making videos from my bike-adventures, Vlogging) to big. I also miss great tiny glass for the RF Mount. Maybe I will try out the Sony ZV E1.
Congrats on the FX3! I'm looking at its little bro the FX30 (I shoot the A7RV & A7cii). For what it's worth, I think the a7iv/a7cii, XH2s, Lumix S1 are really balanced hybrid cameras. However, I think Nikon Z8/Z9 is the sleeping giant for hybrid + high mega pixel.

but also this has been a great convo, since I have also been debating on where the future of my camera kit is going to look like. I currently shoot with Fujifilm and just have been so curious about the new stuff Lumix has been putting out.
Yall mentioned the potential to save money on the Sony ecosystem which kind of ties into Geneâs episode about figuring out how to be business smart. Could yall go into this more in depth on a future episode for the people starting out that end up getting drowned in the âyou need to buy thisâ side of youtube?

I used to shoot on Canon. But I hate the RF lens ecosystem and how they limited the RF mount to only Canon-brand by forbidding other third-party manufracters from creating RF-lenses. They truly dug their own grave with it. I switched from 200D and EOS RP to a Sony ZV-e10.

I sold my A7siii and went back to Lumix.
Gene a sony bronie???? lol I mean I love the C70/R5C, those would be my pics from the Canon system. But as I find myself more of an on the go/easy build and breakdown person and the fx3 is a great fit for me and I mean.....it did film The Creator haha so pretty capable for video. The A7IV has been a fantastic hybrid for the last 3 years

Sony still has horrible menu systems. Canon always has the cripple and is limited on capability. C70 is amazing but cropped sensor limits space sometimes. Sony hybrids have amazing low light capability and the best DR and log profile slog3. Canon R5C only has clog3 which gives more DR in highlights, but isnt the best log profile with the most DR. Sony hybrids having no internal ND's make it a no go for me. I can get a used C70 with Canon's best log profile Clog2 for less than a used FX3, and I do video only - so that would be my next jump.
Why do you need a hybrid? You can go fx6 and get nd filters build in. C70 isnt much of a hybrid. Besides the body in functionality it isnt a hybrid. Sony meny system is actually pretty good it used to be horrible. But fx3 menu system is perfectly fine
