Sickle Forging (c1965)

This film is a compilation of two films from the Hawley Collection. The first one is a brief introduction to sickles and reaping hooks by Ken Hawley and this is followed by footage filmed of sickle forging at Webster & Senior (Morsens), Prospect Works, 132-140 Prospect Road, Sheffield. Sadly the forging film has no commentary.

First comment. ...... Films like this make me appreciate the old tools I have, as they show me the great skill of those that made them.
It breaks my heart to see old tools thrown away.
