Nice forks.Great video. 😊😊😊
Great video. My local trees rarely produce anything Y shaped and useful. I've been using two sticks with tapers on the bottom to make a V. Some jute twine for a lashing and a wedge between the forks to resist the binding. Still not as easy as a nature made Y, but an alternative if a natural Y just isn't happening.
Cheers Jim
That’s a very educative clip, John ! Very nice naturals you have there ! 👍👍👍

Your Dremel sounds about as old as mine. Mines had a chattery bearing since new. 35 years ago

I drive 500 miles a week in Cornwall in my job !! Nowt unusual about that you might say ! But every bloody where I go now I'm looking for forks and not the road !!
My brother used too make them as a kid using old inner tubes.i remember when he stole a rubber tube from chemistry class at school and had the best catti around.back in the 70s.well he thought it was the best around.

Hey John, I cut a lovely fork today about the size of the bigger one in this vid. Thing is I cut it from a hawthorn bush and after steaming like you do in the vid it ain’t having none of the bending mullarky lol. Is hawthorn no good for the job or just keep steaming it ?
Is mooching what we in America call trespassing on someone else’s property? Great show.

Nice video John! Do you make any with the slot method like in one of your older videos? How long till the new edition to your family arrives?

What are we called? As in people that shoot a bow are called archers etc but what's the proper name for the cattie man? We have a skill like any other but what's our skill called? Is there even a name haha just wondered
I have no idea lol.....
GAMEKEEPER JOHN let's call ourselves "moochers" skilled in the art of moochery haha anyway mate I'm off out on the mooch with mi cattie (game keeper PPMG) and my jack Russell "Elsie" thanks for the reply my fellow moocher 👍
I recommend "stretchers"...
Peter Stanton love it mate 👍
We have a river named the Forked Deer River in West Tennessee. I'm going to start an urban legend that the Indians gave it that name in that it was such a great place to find tree forks to make slingshots. to hunt deer. LOL
I assume you need the landowners permission to cut the trees ??
Yogi Berra the famous catcher for the Yankees was not the sharpest pencil in the pack. Someone asked him if he came to a fork in the road what would he do. He answered; why of course I would simply take it. Now that I'm hanging with Gamekeeper, I'm thinking now that Yogi wasn't so dumb after all. LOL
