If the Govt acknowledges there are three official languages of NZ...then how about spending more time speaking te reo Māori, help revive it, show it being used. kia ora

This govt has spent billions of tax dollars wasted helping to revive it and its still no further forward because the vast majority of people don't have a use for it.

Lets not force feed TeReo onto the nation, it isn't a language that can convey communication as well as English can ; combine this with the fact that only a tiny percentage of our Kiwi population of around 2% speak it fluently . Lastly TeReo is only one of 6 Maori dialects that were spoken originally, so by using it we are only paying lip service to a small proportion of the tribes that were speaking it.

So says the coloniser rhetoric forced down our throats throughout NZs lying history taught in our schools and put out by the racist mainstream media. Maori are tangata whenua. Our lands stolen. Our language beaten out of our ancestors by colonial rule. We are here to stay and our te reo Maori is now spoken by many non Maori. You should be quiet.

      1. Just because you dont understand Māori culture and think its more basic than English is a HUGE PROBLEM (mostly for you), you literally have no idea. We have so much to learn and there is no competition, your comment just sounds like you feel threatened and there's no need for it at all. 2. The reason why theres a lower number of speakers is because of destructive colonisation processes, or have you conveniently neglected to absorb that Te Reo was banned and punished for being spoken? Along with many other ways of trying to crush Māori culture - the amount of people, or your implied 'usefulness' is totally irrelevant, no one made you authority e hoa believe it or not! 3. Lip service? My mind is quite literally blown at your hatred. You are racist as! This is what racism looks like, sounds like, and writes like - must deal with this in a more positive way, this is just hate.
