This was a great watch. I have just invested in a new Godox AD300Pro light and some new modifiers and will be using some of this valuable information as a template while I get used to the new kit. Thanks as always to Daniel, Kaydence and Seth for some excellent tutelage.

I always love watching Daniel’s videos and in this video I especially appreciated the philosophical discussion about how to make the “subject” of the portrait see themself looking good, looking like themselves instead of changing the shape of their face or make them look different from what they actually look like. As always, great job guys!

Another excellent video! I know it is recorded live, but I love that the technical glitches are not edited out. It shows the rest of us how pros handle the situation and that knowing you gear inside and out is super important.

I really enjoyed watching this, great job!! I've spent the past year learning cinematography and while there is certainly some crossover, I've learned a heap of new things. I might have to try some headshots now, perhaps with a cinema lens :)

By the time the TTL issue was resolved, it may have been more efficient to just take a light meter reading at the beginning of the shoot. Any final tweaks could then be made.
On another note, the quality of the Profoto lights did not make up for all the technical issues and lighting adjustments that were required. Any decent brand of lights (e.g., Godox, Westcott, Elinchrom, etc.) would have gotten the job done.

Sixteen minutes in and i bailed when i saw it went for over an hour. What i found disconcerting was that the angle of the light cast a shadow under the persons nose, which was ignored at least until boredom overwhelmed me. Sorry if thats harsh

Same here, it seemed like the guy is experimenting for the first time. Being a professional, every move should be second nature and not so much trial and error. With a little bit of experience you get a feeling for all different light setup situations and the first or at least the second picture should be already excellent.

Un détail mais c'est pas cool de mettre la photo d'un modèle en couverture et de faire les séances avec une autre.
