Don't quote me but this singer was a former adult film star so the lyrics hold a different meaning when that imfornation is known. Great disco track.
I read that as well, perfect lyrics for an adult star trying to break into disco😂😂😂😊
You are correct. I was in college when this came out and her "adult film" history was well known. Even in the pre-internet days, the radio DJs use to point her history out when this song came up in rotation for air play.
Yes it’s true. Traci Lords also had an album I loved called 1000 Fires from 1995!
If you notice in the song it says get the cameras rolling and get the action going what else could this song be about. I have heard that rumor also
Correct ..Not entirely sure about "former adult actress ." Maybe was still working in the field or recently retired.
Ms. Andrea True was a porn star who had some top 40 hits in the late 70s. RIP Ms. True ❤
If your definition of having "some top 40 hits" is having 2 hits, including "More, More, More." Um, okay... She had 1 other top 40 hit with "N.Y. You Got Me Dancing" when it peaked at 27 in 1977. Some people would define "More, More, More" as a 1 hit wonder because it fared so much better on the top 40 than "N.Y. You Got Me Dancing." That's not my definition of a one hit wonder though.
An iconic Disco hit from 1976. I remember it well! In the 90s, a group called Len sampled this song in their song "Steal My Sunshine".
Yes! the sample comes at the 3:40 mark in the song
When Steal My sunshine came out our DJ would begin with this song and then slide into steal my sunshine when those pops began to show us how it was sampled!
They reacted to it a few weeks ago.
And Chevrolet used this Steal My Sunshine song in their commercial which played right before I heard this reaction. Weird.
Bananarama covered it too.
Andrea True was the 'stage name' of the singer Andrea Truden, singer, actress, and porn star. She was working in Jamaica in a TV commercial and found that she couldn't transfer the money she made out of the country, so she invested in studio time to record this song (and a few others) with Gregg Diamond under the name "The Andrea True Connection". They ran out of money during recording, and gave the tapes to the studio... who released the music to disco DJ's and the song became a hit.
Andrea True was an adult film star in the 70s. This song is about filming one of those adult films.
Very true!
Oh wow
Yes. Was written by one of her male co-stars from the adult entertainment industry. 😂
Porn rock pre-Prince 😉
“If you want to know how I really feel , get the cameras rolling get the action going “ Yeah definitely about making an “adult “ film
The songs of the 70s never disappoint
More disco for female friday - Vickie Sue Robinson - turn the beat around; Carrie Lucas - dance with you; Evelyn “champagne” king - shame, I don’t know if it’s right; Andrea True Connection - more, more, more; Silver convention - fly, robin, fly; France joli - come to me and of course some more Donna Summer - try me, I know we can make it and love to love you baby; sunset people; state of independence (this is a cover produced by quincy jones and featuring an all star choir of backing vocals from the likes of diana ross, michael jackson, lionel richie, dionne warwick, and more).
Yesss all great song requests!!! I'd also add Thelma Houston's "Don't Leave Me This Way", and I'd love to see a reaction to Randy Crawford & The Crusader's "Street Life", and Cher's "Take Me Home"! I hardly see anyone reacting to these, and they're awesome and iconic songs!!! 🥰
I have a song in my head for 10 years plus and cant find it. All i remember is " and i will and i will and i......will ....." in the chorus. Any ideas what song it is?
Great recommendations!!
@@Augfordpdoggie Could it be this classic - Love Will Keep Us Together by Captain and Tennille? czcams.com/video/_QNEf9oGw8o/video.html
@@Augfordpdoggie It's the song by Captain & Tennille "Love Will Keep Us Together" from 1975! Amber & Jay did a reaction to that song 2 years ago!!!
The lyrics take on a new meaning when you find out the singer is a former porn star.
Love it even more!!😊
Watch the video it's not much just her standing on a stage singing it and dancing , but it really gives you the nostalgic feel of the 70s
That instrumental part that Amber was talking about at the end of the video was sampled by the group Len and their song, Steal My Sunshine, which you reacted to not so long ago. This song was a classic on the disco scene
Knew both songs and never until now realized that Len borrowed it from this song. Old dog learning new tricks.
Ms. True was performing at a disco near me one night in ‘76 so I am happy to say I got to see “More More More” performed live! And that high “Your looooove” at the end was not easy to do live, God rest her soul…
That rhythmic piano playing is great. It holds the groove throughout the whole song.
Andrea was a very interesting woman. As I’m sure others have pointed out she was an adult film actress for years before she recorded music. She was in Jamaica doing some other acting work when she recorded this, wanting to break into music. It turned out to be a big hit. She didn’t have a technically amazing voice but she really made it work for the music. After her disco stuff, she also recorded a rock album in the early 80s that was only released in Europe. When Len sampled this song for “Steal My Sunshine” in the 90s, there was a bit of revived interest in her, but she never did music again before she died.
Very catchy song from the disco Era. This one went to #4 in 1976.
Yes, this was a very big hit at the discotheques ! 💃🕺🏻
I loved it growing up and loved "Steal My Sunshine" by len for their use of this as a sample. I sing my nephew sings "Steal My Sunshine" during the instrumental parts!😂😂
My friends and I boogied down to this at the disco… while singing along💯💯
Donna Summer- 'Love to Love you Baby' and Euthymics 'Would I Lie to You'- it's their most rocking song- and the horns are brilliant! Or Annie Lennox's duet with Aretha Franklin- the feminist anthem 'Sisters are Doing it for Themselves'
Would I lie to you is a great upbeat song and great video as well !!
"Get the cameras rolling get the action going" This was about her time when she did adult movies "More More More."
This 1976 song sounds great with Silver Convention's "Fly Robin Fly" from 1975 and Odyssey's "Native New Yorker" from 1977. And another great seventies disco track that's mostly instrumental is the classic "Sound of Philadelphia" from MFSB (1974), one of the seventies Soul Train theme songs.
Native New Yorker is one of my favourite records ever.
And how about "I'm Feeling Fine Now" by New York City? 😊
She's no tramp but she's no lady....line from Native New Yorker, a song I loved
Thanks, I completely forgot Native New Yorker... ❤️
@@oldiesgeek454 It's "I'm DOIN' Fine Now", produced by the great Thom Bell, who also produced the best records by the Delfonics, the Spinners, and the Stylistics.
There is an all female band that are sisters (plus one brother) called The Corrs. Extremely popular at the turn of the century. The song “Breathless” was a mega hit during that time. Good one react to, great harmonies. Incredible talent with that violin incorporated with modern music. Style of music reminds me a lot of Belinda Carlisle
OMG! Love them! All that Irish vibe... with magic violin... They're so talented!
Runaway has to the the first one to react to. Pubs still erupt in singalongs when that one comes on. ❤
They are awesome. I got into them during my discovery of great Irish artists who weren't necessarily huge here in the US. Big fan of Clannad as well.
@@paul.kristoff It's my favorite!
Yaaaassssss! The Corrs!!
Always loved this song! Haven't heard it in years. A true disco classic. Thanks for doing this one!
Most disco songs were extended play to keep the people on the dance floor! This song had plenty of air play, reaching the top ten on the Billboard charts in 1976. Andrea True was an adult movie performer before becoming a recording star. She died in 2011.
Such a great song. I think I had it on one of those K-Tel compilations albums.
K-Tel Dynamite was the first record I bought on my own as a kid, K-Tel had awesome compilations.
I bought that also
You might recognise the instrumental break at 3.40. It was sampled by Len on their hit Steal My Sunshine.
I never noticed it before (granted I’d only heard this song in passing and hadn’t given it much attention), but there were two spots in this song where that sampling was very apparent.
Yes, glad someone else recognized that. When Len came out with that song I'm like "I l know that clip" !
This was another mainstay at my mother's parties in the late 70's/early 80's. Us kids would sing it when eating our favorite foods! Another song with a similar vibe is "Single Bed" by Noosha Fox. Have a great weekend! ❣
I love Single Bed by Noosha Fox.
More like my parties!😂😂DJ days….😂😂
☺@@SusanJohnston
Well...uh...she was a porn star.
Thanks for playing this song.❤
She was an adult film star turned recording artist.
This is pretty early disco-era. Big hit in its day.
I had never heard this extended version before.! What a treat. Loved hearing this on the radio that spring.
Yes, 'over-the-air' version, in the day, was a bit shorter.
This is the album version. The whole album is pretty good.
This was the album version, which was also the flip side on the single. Side 1 had the short radio edit... side 2 had the full album version.
Interestingly, the 12 goes for big bucks yet the same version is available on the lp and can be had for $5 or less. Granted the 12 plays louder/hotter but depending on circumstances not worth the extra cheddar in my opinion.
A number( not all) of earlier 12’s were essentially the album version,no edit or remix.
This song was HUGE. Often sampled but never duplicated. It's a great summer type hit.
This was the 1st disco song I ever heard, and then I fell in love with 70s disco
This brought me right back to my clubbing days!❤❤
One of 4 top 10 US Disco chart hits for her.1976
I could watch this girl dance for hours, so genuine, thanks you two
This song brings me back to Saturday mornings with my sisters ,cleaning the house blasting the radio and taking breaks to dance to our favorite dance songs .😂 this was one of them .❤ I was just a kid my sisters were teenagers . Great memories 🤗
WONDERFUL !!!
Used to dance at the Disco to this song back in the summer of 76. It was a huge hit ,everyone went crazy when it started to play and all of us running to the dance floor. You should have put on the live video of Andrea she was so good singing this song. She passed away in 2011 at 68. Keep up the great work, would love to hear and see more 70's Disco
Yes I just posted to them about her video performance of this song.
It seems to add so much more more more...
Are you referring to the Don Kirshner's Rock Concert performance. If so, yes She and the band did a great job and seemed to have so much fun with it. Sometimes that "Real" performance just makes it all the better. Andrea and Connection did the song True during that performance. The band was just spot on.
Oow...remember this song...catchy! Good pick 😊
The follow-up from the same album "Fill Me Up (Heart To Heart)" is really catchy and has a similar vibe. Andrea was an adult movie actress so that's why this can work on a double entendre level. The songs are solid though. I loved this album as a kid.
Fill Me Up ( Heart To Heart ) is my next favorite song especially when you hear the piano playing solo.
Thanks for reacting. Bring back great memories from the Summer of 1976. So many great songs from that Summer. Female Friday suggestions from then Diana Ross - "Love Hangover" , Vicki Sue Robinson - "Turn the Beat Around" and Maxine Nightingale - "Right Back Where We Started From
A little dirty song but fun as hell to dance to.
Great 70's tune. Love this song! Classic disco song and huge hit. As others have mentioned, she was an adult film start that starred in a good number of films in the late 60's and 70's. Funny, no one cared back then. We weren't as uptight about things like that. Today, it would be the demise of an artist.
Love this tune! I think Andrea True was a porn star...hence the lyrics "Get the cameras rollin...get the action goin" lol.
Wow!!! Nothing better than Andrea True Conection on a friday night! 💃🕺🪩
These wonderful disco songs were perfect for the dance floor. They kept a steady beat, perfect for couples dancing, which is still taught today in ballroom dance studios. The dance element is sometimes not realized by new listeners. Hustle / Disco is a beautiful dance form.
Believe it or not there were good disco music . You have to see John Travolta in Saturday Night Fever , so many good ones or original Car Wash , excellent music there ❤️
They reacted to "Saturday Night Fever" on their movie reaction channel and was taken aback by the subject matter and a few violent scenes.
"N.Y. you got me dancing" isFIRE!!!!
"More, More, More" was one of the early disco hits and still one of my all-time favorites. Interesting story behind the song, Andrea True, and Gregg Diamond.
I love the song, very cool, as well as realising that part of that song was sampled by Len for Steal My Sunshine in the 90s.
True, I instantly liked that song because of they re-worked this groove.
@seanswinton6242 both great songs of summer ☀️
Memory flashback: Me and my best friend on the dance floor at a popular disco in Cincinnati when this came out singing at the top of our lungs and doing a dance we designed especially for that song. Oh how I miss those days!
This song was so long, now I know why the radio had a condensed version of it. I remember this song, never danced to it, just heard it on the radio. That was like mid 70's I think also one of the many popular disco songs. Yes, 'Len' sampled this song for their 90's hit "Steal My Sunshine" you two reacted to that about a couple of months ago and that was a fun video to watch too. I enjoyed your video reaction. ☮ and 💕
This track is a "True Banger."
Yes🎉
Oh wow I haven't heard this song in ages. A great song and mainstay of the 70's
Class of 76 Disco,, baby!
I think we need to hear some Eruption now you're on disco. "I Can't Stand The Rain" and "One Way Ticket."
Next disco song: Thelma Houston, "Don't Leave Me This Way"
In the UK in 1976 we had a long heatwave for weeks and weeks and this song always reminds me of the long hot Summer of '76
This song has very deep lyrical content. From what I understand it’s about more, more…more.
In all seriousness, this always filled the dance floor at my parents parties.
Another 70's female group you haven't reacted to yet is The Honey Cone. Their signature song is Want Ads.
Still have the album, Soulful Tapestry, from 1971. I like Stick-Up and One Monkey Don't Stop No Show even more.
I second it. The Honey Cone is a must for Female Friday!
One Monkey Don’t Stop No Show.
Try Dionne Warwick with the Spinners “Then came You”!!🤘🔥
3:41 Sampled by Len in 99 with their one hit wonder 'Steal My Sunshine'
She was a wonderful actress too.
One of the most iconic hits from the beginnings of disco, what fun!
Love this song. The horns are incredible. And that break starting at 3:40 is delicious.
GREAT SONG, GREAT REACTION, KEEP UP THE GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!
I was about 7 when this song came out. We didn't have a lot of resources to tell us the lyrics back then, but I definitely remember the "how do you love me?" line.
They released this video just a few days after I requested. Thanks for being so responsive. Takes me back to the mid-1970s.
Disco Classic!!! Canadian band Len sampled the instrumental break in "More, More, More" and used it as the backdrop for their top-ten single "Steal My Sunshine". (1999)
YESS! My absolute favorite song!!! RIP ANDREA!!
One of the best female singers of that era was Precious Wilson and her band Eruption was Disco gold.
One Way Ticket and I Can't Stand The Rain show off her epic voice.
The song was originally recorded in 1975 in Jamaica where True, a porn star, had been appearing in a TV commercial. Unable to return to the United States due to a government ban on asset transfers, she opted to invest the money in a studio recording to advance her career as a singer. True called on Gregg Diamond to come to Jamaica and record it with her and other studio musicians, which formed the backbone of the "Connection" project. Diamond had begun work on compositions that would ultimately evolve into "More, More, More". He decided to have True perform vocals in part due to her career as an adult film actor. Although Diamond is officially credited as the sole author of the track, True has claimed that she wrote the song's lyrics, while he composed the music. When asked about True's limited vocal ability, Diamond commented: "[Y]ou can do marvelous things with tape delay."
Great reaction, Jay and Amber.
This was quite a big hit back in the day, you should react to, "What's Your Name, What's Your Number" her too. I'm glad that you mentioned, "Fly Robin, Fly" by 'Silver Convention', they had another hit too, "Get Up and Boogie".
Love the extended version of this song, you need to try Sylvia, she sings Pillow Talk
This was a great song to dance to in the 70s👍
Considering Andrea was a former Adult Star she should not have any problem breathing the phrases More, More, More how do u like it
This just came up on one of my playlists yesterday. Grammar school me loved it and so does 50-something me!
🎶 I was lying on the grass on Sunday morning of last week, indulging in my self-defeat... 😊
Such a lovely fun song. I only found out what her previous job was as an adult decades later 😊
Andrea died in 2011 at 68. She was a porn actress in NYC in the 70s and hung out at Studio 54. This song was her 15 minutes of fame. Very catchy and all over the radio and clubs back then. "Get the cameras rollin', get the action goin' " refers to the porno movie set.
This song has an interesting history. Check out the Wikipedia article about it. Andrea True was sort of stranded in Jamaica when she came up with this song. The version released in the USA is a remix by Tom Mouton (a "Tom Moulton Mix"). The original version of the song released in Jamaica is available on CZcams for anyone that wants to hear it. While similar to this classic hit version we all know and love, the original version does have a few differences. By the way, the entire "More, More, More" album is fantastic. It also contains the singles "Party Line", and "Heart to Heart (Fill Me Up with Your Love)". Her later hits, "New York, You Got Me Dancing", "What's Your Name, What's Your Number," and "White Witch", were included on her second album called "White Witch". which, except for the "New York" track, had a completely difference sound from her first album.
Disco songs were so long because there was a dance specifically for disco. It was similar to a ballroom dance where your male partner took the lead. The dance moves took time to learn, so no one who learned it wanted to get off the dance floor too soon!
Native New Yorker by Odyssey is probably one of the best songs of any genres and definitely in the top 5 all time disco songs, especially the longer 12” single mix.
This was a good song to rollerscate to; you could cross your feet at the corners to the beat.
This was an iconic disco-era couples dance tune...
That’s a pretty good disco tune right there. 👍
I was 10 when this song came out. It was all over the radio ❤
Born in 66, so was I! 🤗 Such a magical year for disco, and music in general!
I wondered when you were going to get to this one. Wonder no more, more, more!!!
Monster disco dance hit. In LA danced my butt off at Oil Can Harry's and Studio One!! The 70's were the greatest decade EVER!!!!!
You know they would play this at 7th grade dances and we're all singing away - we had no idea what we were talking about!
I laughed when Target picked this song for their Christmas advertisement a few years back. Just wasn't right
Lol
~Red
Amazing choice from the 70s. Viola Wills' "Gonna Get Along Without You Now" is another fantastic 70s hit.
I cannot wait until you guys get into that DEEP Disco. Andrea T. is awesome but that track is merely the start of a rabbit hole that goes DEEP! Continue your journey.
Takes me back to my college disco days....love it!!
Someday also put on the song "New York You Got me Dancing" with Andrea True Connection...it's very danceable....
My clubbing days. Love this one❤
Hey, Amber, I have 2 Female Friday requests which were both huge disco hits it the 70's. Thelma Houston's Don't Leave Me This Way (1976) - went to #1 and won the Grammy for best female R&B vocal performance. And Sister Sledge - We Are Family (1979). You're going to want to play that one with your kids.
I don't know if anyone mentioned this but Andrea True was a 1970s Adult Film Star.
That's what the song was made to promote
~Red
A good song from the 70's, this got to number 5 in the UK in 1976, and has been covered a few times-Colin Ward
Hook 'em Horns!! 🤟
Danced to this song every Saturday night at the club! Fun times!!
Fantastic song, love it.
