VIDEO DESCRIPTION:
Jim built this rig from the ground up and combined two jeeps to make this 1987 Comanche what it is today! The aluminum camper was built in their driveway, and the Sunbrella canvas topper was installed afterward. He also custom designed and attached a grill bumper with lights and a wench.
The interior is unbelievably spacious, with a bench seat that opens up for storage, a full kitchen with a two-burner stove, a deep sink, and a massive eighty-five-liter top-loading fridge. They have a pass-through into the cab allowing the dogs to maneuver around and more storage access when parked. This was home until the exciting news of their pregnancy. Just weeks shy of her delivery, they moved into a rental to start a new chapter!

First saw this build on a couple photos long before I started mine. Seeing the interior is absolutely amazing. Craftsmanship and thought that went into it are on another level.

I love the DIY trucks/camper combinations. Seeing the Unimogs at the overlanding expo was educational too if you are of similar enthusiasts. I honestly can’t wait to build mine, there is so much technology and innovations out there that i want to put into a build. Build a camper truck, build a jetski, build an electric bike, and the list goes on.
This is definitely my all time favorite tiny home/overland build ever!

Very creative. Trouble obtaining insurance for a vehicle that you modified so much?? Finally someone who has a window near stovetop!!
I have some light mounts on the hood with some Nilight fog lights. Great for looking off the side of the road. I put them on my Forester and my Shuttle bus. It's great to have that option with no modifications! I spent between $50 and $100 on the setups, and definitely worth it! The sealed beam LED headlights I have and love have a projector look lens inside. I've had them a year and a half on my van. I have some Auxbeam F-16 LED headlights on my Forester and they're very bright and makes it great for driving at night.
I expected to hear you say you lost your fan lid! I'm surprised it stays on when driving, but I guess the solar panels help. Would you put any more on the roof?
