Great job! I appreciate all the hard work that went into making and editing this video. Super smart to use Jengo Fett as your base. Been wanting to make a custom “book of boba” version myself using the Bandai 1/12 model, but I might have to try your way… keep making videos!

@@xxvenomxsnakexx9995 Thanks! So the figure gets sticky if you play with it for a long time(sweat from hands) and you can't use it for photoshoots involving dir/mud/etc?
@@WylunCustoms i'm trying my first dye right now, do you think a coat of primer after the dye would help the paint stick or is it dye leaking out of the figure?
I never got to do a update video but I have answered ppl in the comments. It's not that the dye faded. It started to bleed through the paint I had over it. I tried many things like coating the dye first then painting over the clear coat, nothing worked. Dye to this day is fine. I still have this figure bc I wanted to do a update lol!. Since then I got the sh Figuarts and Hasbro Boba fett, so I just was content and moved on. 😌
dying looks so much easier than painting, i have a fortnite wild card mcfarlane figure im using as a base for a Dallas from payday 2 custom and just dying the figure brown gets like half the custom done for me right there
especially on the moving joints where you get rub, without dye you have to sand down the joint till there is no contact but it can still come off and expose the plastic underneath this is basically turning he plastic the color you want
I also use mod podge and I get a super matte finish when I mix it with a bit of water
thanks for that tip!
I've had a half started custom sitting around that I've wanted to do the rit dye method. Glad to know it's so straight forward.
it is pretty straight forward, but remember to coat the figure after you dye.
That came out amazing, specially using jango made it more size acurate, this is the way
That looks awesome! Great job.
awesome work man. i am thinking about making a boba custom this way as well, so i am glad i came across your video!!
hey there, ya, take a shot a it.. also watch my other video on a follow up i did regarding Dying figures. Its a tricky process. good luck on it all.
That turned out really well.
Man thank you so much for this tutorial. This is the way.
no problem, also take a look at my part 2 "update" video of this I uploaded, much needed info also. good luck! This is the way.

I just don’t like Jengos articulation I’d rather use regular Boba
I agree, the Jengo's articulation isnt the greatest, im actually working on second one now and trying to get better range on his elbow joints.
👍🏻 good job looks good
Is there a way to get a smoother finish from the mod podge?
is that empire boba fett?. how does that figure dye? I cant get ahold of a jango for a custom
Have you done he-man figures? What would look like to do he-man black .
Huh. Interesting. I never would have considered mod podge. Smooth work. Keep up the awesome. :)
Dude the best part is there's different ones for the level of sheen to it.
@@OmegaShenronDragon Oh? You have my attention. :)

OH man, Take 2? Who cried about George's comments yesterday that you have to do it again..LOL
Does the paint chip or nah? I’ve heard that dye stains your fingers
Does it work with 1/18 fogures
What paints do you use?
Green lantern product placement?
So, would older gijoe figures be considered "hard" plastic?
What are the chances of dying a black figure white?
Good job, dude.
Hey, thanks!!!
Thanks for sharing! Is modpodge waterproof?
Nope

thanks! actually repainting him to make the green lighter

I heard that the dye fades after a few years. Have your dyed figures faded since this video?

Nice work 👍🏻💯👌
thanks!
Haha "Time to dye"
Damn I did one off the regular Boba figure but now you're making me think
a trick: watch movies at flixzone. Me and my gf have been using them for watching a lot of movies during the lockdown.
Great , now make me one.

So dyeing the Figure makes the color more durable than just straight up using paint.
especially on the moving joints where you get rub, without dye you have to sand down the joint till there is no contact but it can still come off and expose the plastic underneath this is basically turning he plastic the color you want
Nice job! For these customs you should buy the bootleg figures instead of using the real ones.
You need to dry brush the figure, the figure looks like he is wearing brand new equipment, which should not be the case.
well in the show he actually repainted all his armor to look fresh. Even the new SH figuarts version is totally clean.
