  • This is a video that as far as I know, has only been on HBO once,in 2003. It shows the dynasty years of the Oakland Raiders and Oakland A's in the 1970's. It also gives folks a idea of how much the city loved it's teams and how it's teams loved the city.

Has anyone noticed that when you look for the 'Autumn wind' that the intro doesn't say anymore "The battle hymn of the Raider Nation" People forget that it was way back then (1974) that we Raiders (team and fans) were the first to carry the label of 'nation'...Thank you NFL Films.

I know. It is like the brooding soul of the city. Misunderstood, hated, reviled and yet the Raiders are a nation like no other; fearless, proud and indomitable, truly America's team.

That is why I am still after all these years a die hard Oakland fan! Turning 58 in a week, been a Raiders fan since day 1 and A's fan since they moved to Oakland. People today still ask me why? From now on I'm going too refer them to this four part video...cause that's why! Nuff said! Thank you very much for posting this.

The warriors are not the Oakland warriors they are the golden state warriors played in Oakland but played for the championship at the cow palace in San Fran so that's why they weren't on. I root for the Warriors but not a fan. Just because they are still in Oakland for now.
