So many of the Oakland Raiders that I watched as a kid in the 1970s are gone now. I remember driving through Oakland with my dad to go to the games. Best dad a kid could ask for.
Maybe we now have a chance??? I discovered The Raiders as a boy in the late 60s or early 70s. Wow those were the days my friend. Awesome watching them beat the chargers and I live in San Diego!!! Love the black and silver!!!
Those Raiders were the most feared team EVER in the NFL and now with the rule changes, they'll hold that place in folklore evermore. 'The Autumn Wind' epitomises the Raider Mystique of that time, loved the 70's and 80's in Football, those were 2 amazing decades. You won't see a Radier team with a coach like that again. Thank you for putting this up and thank god for CZcams!
The Flores 83 team was top 3 in turnovers and penalties yet still won the SB. They might have finished 1st on both categories. Lol ... The Raiders had playoff games where Stabler and Plunkett threw pick 6s and they still won. 77 vs Colts and 80 vs Cleveland. In two different playoff games they gave up kick returns for TDs and still won. 74 vs Dolphins and 77 vs Colts. That's how good the Raiders were back then. They could spot you 7 or 14 point lead and that lead was about as safe as pulling on a tigers tail

He built good teams in the 60’s 70’s and 80 but moving the Raiders out of Oakland in 1982 was the one crucial mistake he made. Raiders had a great thing going in Oakland but he got seduced by LA being a bigger market than Bay Area! That move set the team back but overall he was a great owner

They went to the Super Bowl with 3 different Head Coaches and 3 different QBs. The Raiders got screwed in 72 and 75. 72 was the Franco Harris catch which should have been called back, 75 the Steelers froze the field at Three Rivers Stadium.
Raiders won 9 of 10 division Championships between 1967 and 1976 but only one SB. Then between 1977 and 1986, they only won two division titles, but picked up 2 SB wins.
