He's very impressive, but f1 is an odd thing. Many inspired drivers, Hulk or perez just don't show the promised once lauded. Of all the names listed only the king has gone on to dominate f1.
As a Belgian it was really sad to see Vandoorne's immense talent being wasted away in the shitty version of an already shit car due to having a seat next to Alonso

*Vandoorne* always impressed me with his tire management/strategy... I *_really_* hope the *McLaren* is actually competitive in 2018 as I’m so happy to have a *Belgian* to cheer for in *F1* again (pretty sure *Thierry Boutsen* was the last and that was a *_long_* time ago !!), extra excited because *Vandoorne* is from *Kortrijk,* the same town as my father !!!

Where the heck was Luca Fillippi??? The guy was simply magical! Sure he never got an F1 drive but his sheer exuberance and brilliance at the wheel made him so flipping exciting to watch!
Luca was pretty good, I agree but never really looked like a champion in waiting. 2nd half of 2011 was easily his best season. It's a shame that Luca is struggling so much in Formula E right now; consistently lacklustre performances even for a rookie.

@Jotarototo mmmm yes and no, vandoorne in my opinion was sacrificated for mclaren, and that car was a shit from hungary to abu dhabi, idk, now i think leclerc its better but for a little diference( sorry if my english is bad i am argentino :)

Benjamin Banna It's best in F2. What you do before or after is irrelevant. You can destroy the competition in F2 and then retire, that doesn't make your F2 acheivements any less.

Agrover112 No disagreement here. I was just pointing out that winning or not in F1 doesn't make your F2 races any better or worse.
F1 is bit like Bollywood where only if u have connections finnancial backing or are son/relative of driver then u can get easy passage doesnt matter how shit or talented you are its smooth. Otherwise If you are even 1 bit slower or give even 1 thought about you you are the likely one out because $ is more important. Or be so good noene can speak a word against you.

TheNick34752 While Bianchi was good and definitely had potential, scoring points in a freaking Marussia! I do have to say that Leclerc statistically has an edge over Bianchi. This is Leclerc's first season in F1, and he is delivering regular points score finishes. Bianchi did not. Not to tone down his talent, but Leclerc is in a class of his own right now!
Wolf Jongmans Sauber is far more competitive than Marussia so it is pointless to compare them like this. I think Bianchi was as good as Leclerc
Leclerc won the F2 title and dominated in his first year where as Jules didn't win on multiple attempts, saying that I think Jules got better when he arrived in F1.

Vandoorne was an absolute beast in F2. He doesn't impress in F1 yet, but his F2 career was outstanding, so P2 is pretty deserved I would say.
- Yes but Vandoorne won in his second year. Hamilton, Hulkenberg and Rosberg won in their first year with Hamilton and Rosberg now world champions and Hamilton fairing up much better than Vandoorne in his rookie season against Alonso. Hulkenberg also had the most impressive junior record of all the current drivers (I don't know that much about Leclerc's though), so all three should really be ahead of Vandoorne despite his domination of GP2 in his second year, because all three would have done the same had they had a second year.
