I had pasta carbonara, mixed salad, a bottle of water, one glass of house red, which was delicious and a coffee. Total cost 23,50 euros. I would highly recommend this restaurant.

one thing nobody talks about that is likely very different in Italy than the US where I am is furniture: getting new large stuff delivered and removing or disposing of large items. I rather get a place furnished, and while I likely get rid of a lot of the furniture over time to accommodate my own taste, it allows me time to do it rather than running on day one to get a bed, chairs, glasses, spoons, etc. Nobody tells you the equivalent to Home Depot or Amazon, etc. to start.

@@italianproperty true. Almost always it is foreigners that the house as a seasonal or second home. Italian will remove even cabinets on their way out leaving kitchens as a bare room😂😂 Makes no sense at all to me, but it is a cultural thing I guess that makes the buying end far more unattractive and difficult. It is what it is I guess!

We are nearing retirement age and want to purchase an apartment or small house in a small town in Italy that we can spend good amounts of time in ourselves, and have it available for friends and family to use when we’re not. We haven’t settled on a region yet and need to return soon to do some exploring. We’re from the west coast of Canada so sadly we can’t go abroad as often and easily as we’d like. But your channel gives us a lovely link to that place we want spend more time in and we very much enjoy and appreciate your videos every week. ❤

If I may add on a personal note, I love Italy too, and have spent some time living there. I always want to go back. Oone of the most important aspects of being anywhere is the people. I so agree with your personal, and open-hearted advice. So many Italians, that I have known, and met in many different situations, have been decorous, attentive, graceful, warm-hearted and welcoming. Italians are very often, on so many occasions, also, naturally, spontaneously affectionate. It is part of the beauty of the experience of being in Italy.
You convey so much of these aspects to us, Nick, as well as taking us on fascinating and enticing property-tours. It's one-take, because you do it so well, and so warmly for us, and it's always just right, first time.

I had to pause it and run upstairs to make myself some pasta( bronze cut authentic Italian) with shrimp and olive oil, and to pour myself a glass of very good Washington state wine, to have whilst we dined together, once I started it up again.

I'm overwhelmed with the variety of costs and living considerations. If I went any further, I would use a relocation service. I've bought a few houses and have handled a few estate settlements and this is a complicated procedure and timeline that also involves travel. I'm not sure about those, who say this is like buying a house in their own country, as the language barrier has enough anxiety on its own. Thank you very much for spending time with use to do this.

Good morning Nick, Steve from Brambletye here in Abruzzo enjoyed your vlog about buying in Italy and shared a glass with you, we bought our house a few years ago and started a building company all above board in order to complete the house restoration which we are working on now. I thought your advice was as honest and as transparent as it could be, its hard to explain in real terms how to negotiate the administrative processes here in Italy but persistence pays off. Time-wise, buying a home in the US can also be a lengthy process - more than 2 months beyond a written offer. In terms of inspections (surveys), we don't have rules or laws governing what constitutes a thorough home inspection. The good thing is, you have an opportunity to look at the home multiple times before closing (legal acquisition). And of course, you can include conditions as with any contract and a window in which to withdraw the offer or even decide not to close (with legal parameters met).
Thank you Nick, for the wonderful information. While I do understand that things in Italy (not only property buying) can sometimes take a bit longer than usual, it doesn't sound too wildly different than buying a house in the States. I've only recently (maybe a month ago?) subscribed to your channel, and I must say that some of the properties you have shown are very tempting. I spent time in Italy, mostly up and down the western part of the country, in 2001. I must come back, at least to visit, but I remember loving it there and it's a much nicer prospect than finishing out my retirement days in my current town. I'll keep watching and, perhaps, you will tempt me to sell my current home and move across the ocean. Or, if I do win the lottery, perhaps that decision will become much easier.
