- This is a tour around Carefree Arizona in North Phoenix. We should guys around the Carefree Sundial then up to Tonto Hills and everything in between including Desert Forest. Carefree is a small town and mostly a relaxing place to retire. The prices up here are a bit more expensive than you would find elsewhere in Phoenix area but you certainly are getting what you pay for. Including lower prices for homes, safe town with relative peace and quite in the high Sonoran Desert.

Living in Arizona is quite a unique experience because of the vastness that the state offers. From the Sonoran Desert in the south to the high country in the north all the way up towards the Four Corners east and the Grand Canyon in the west. Known as the Grand Canyon state, Arizona is diverse in many ways. The state tree is the Palo Verde, the state cactus is the Saguaro, the state bird is the Cactus wren. Desert Mountain is where the $$$ is....we were there feb. 2021 visiting friends in their 2 million dollar home on the foothill of the mountain....absolutely Beautiful up there....Love your videos....

I love you're videos on Carefree and Cavecreek, also I think we lived there around the same time from the early 90s till about 1998. We actually owned or leased the Shell station on Cavecreek and Tom Darlington if you remember..

Last time in the Phoenix area I did a share in a condo and drove over to N. Scottsdale for the contract work. Prior to that I did some work for Uhaul in midtown Phoenix and shared a house east of midtown. Either way the traffic got worse and worse. Now I'm establishing work from home for my work. I love the southwest and plan on returning after my time here in Colorado. Colorado Springs getting to look like Phoenix traffic as more companies and new houses multiply. I don't mind a little chill in the winter and a dusting of snow now and then. Over 60 myself I'm looking for peace and quiet and less traffic when I go the supermarket or want a bagel and coffee while I do a crossword puzzle.

My wife and I have camped in the Cave Creek/Carefree area on occasions, at Christmas time, when early morning temperatures were close to or even a little below freezing. Once the sun starts to come up though, it does slowly warm up but not to the kind of temperatures many would expect in Arizona, where, as they say, "Arizona, oh, it gets too hot there". When evening comes, the temperature starts to drop quite sharply, and it can become quite windy.

It’s around 2500 feet depending on if you are up a foothill or near a wash...

They have been known to get a tiny bit of snow here. It is a slightly higher elevation than Phoenix so yes, but it's never much and quite rare.
