To each their own beliefs but so far nothing proves that anything “magical” happens when we die.
This song is what got me into this genre. This song got me through so many tough times. My friends always downgrade this genre and say how 'emo' it is and how the screams are pointless. People like them dont realise how much this type of music can affect people. The lyrics, the raw emotion. Amazing.

It can, but that's not what this particular band has focused on. The singer suffers with depression and they know people who also suffer with it. "Normal" people can have depression too, by the way, and "normal" people can enjoy the music without being depressed.

I have to tend to agree with you there I just found these guys and I'm always looking for new music I'm a headbanger from the 80s of course it was somewhat of a different time but anyway since I found these guys I've listened to 10 songs in a row and every one of them are the f****** real deal this is a really talented band and the great thing is yeah they've got the screamer and they've got the singer but they have their own sound nobody sounds like these guys really other than the fact of the screamer and the singing and they keep it simple every f****** song is great.....
I cant tell you how much this song means to me... my brother commited suicide years back and my depression took over me and I always found myself looking for his face in big crowds even though i knew id never find him... countless times I wanted to take my life after he passed but I knew the burdens id leave my family with and I took these lyrics and heard them in my brothers voice telling me not to do it.... So from the bottom of my heart thank you for this song

More than 10 years and there's not a single week I don't listen to this masterpiece. Honestly one of my favourite songs ever. The lyrics, the riffs, those drums. Everything's perfect
I understand that people may not like the screaming but at the end of the day bands like these are the ones trying to actually make a difference and affect people. These songs are not about screwing and using people but about finding yourself when you are lost and showing people that no matter what you are not alone. It's truly amazing to come to the comments on some of these song and to just see that strangers are reaching out to others to let them know they are not alone! this band is amazing and so are you guys!

The first song I heard by The Amity Affliction which helped me from what I was going through because of the chorus in the song which I feel like the band is asking me about my depression: Are you at all haunted by memories past? Are you ready to make this one breath your last? Is your chest so heavy you're ready to leave? Or are you just hoping that someone will grieve?, I chose the right decision of moving on with my life, so I'm happy that my depression is gone.
There is something nostalgic in those 2012 times when i was young and depressed, wanted to die, often cut my arms and face to blood.. and found this band. I'm 28 now and this is still my favourite band and my top 1 track. And i'm still depressed, just kinda learnt how to live with it. But somehow i want to travel back, i want to feel that again, don't know why. It felt so heavy and emotional back then, it was so true. Please, let me be young again. Let the Amity Affliction be young again.
That hits home dude. I am same age as you and still depressed like I was as a youth, just gotten used to living with it. I think we've become increasingly resistant to the overwhelming emotional feelings over the years. Like a waterfall that beats on a rock for years and shapes it. I reckon it's super unhealthy for our everyday life to be this used to feeling down, our baseline emotional level is lower than it should be. I think we will have massive regrets if we stay in this state throughout our 30s aswell. Goodluck dude

People don't hear it in music like this if they don't already like it because all they focus is the screaming and that's perfectly fine. This seems original. So let me be the first to say I’m getting a tattoo of the amity affliction band logo ghost outline and then I’ll have lyrics that say “ I had stayed spoken to a friend.” A twist on the lyrics in this song that’s gotten me through such dark tough times. I owe this song a lot. And I’m glad I reasoned with myself it was okay to feel these emotions and understand them to help myself guide me through it and all. I spoke to myself and I chose to live.

This song means literally everything to me, especially in my darkest moments when i have no one around and I feel absolutely alone. When I hear this I remember the time I did something and almost died i am so happy to be alive. It reminds me specifically how my death would affect others and when Im gone there is nothing...No ghosts, no heaven, no hell, nothing at all.

I can't stress enough how much I love this band and the message they have. They deserve so much recognition.
this was the very first amity song that I've ever heard (around same year of release), scrolling through channels and there was this, I instantly fell in love. TAA is also what got me to listen to this genre, so coming back to this video feels kinda surreal.
I haven't had the opportunity of seeing them live, but one day! one day, I'll get to see them and it'll be one of the best days of my life.
Ive always thought the screaming for bands like this was to just let everything out, the anger, frustration, sadness, just everything they have built up. Just letting it all out. And showing their emotions. Thats how i always thought of it.

Saw these guys back in February and they KILLED IT. Their whole performance was amazing, but once Chasing Ghosts started playing everyone in the crowd started freaking out. For this being the very first song I ever heard of by TAA, it's still one of my favorites.
This is the best music video for it's year.
