LYRICS
I'll never know what led me down that path,
what made me lose my grasp (what made me lose my grasp).
But now the years have passed and I know in my heart,
no matter where I am. I won't follow that path.
There are things that I've said there are people I've hurt,
there are moments in time when I've been down in the dirt
and I know that it's hard to let go of our pasts
but in each one of us there is hope for fresh starts.
So if I hurt you, if I let you down just remember we were close, we were down.
I found life, I found this and it's all of your strength that got me through it.
Just know that I know you went through the same shit,
even if you were too fucking proud to admit.
So brothers in arms, let's march home towards calm,
towards oceans and shorelines with open arms.
So if I hurt you, if I let you down just remember we were close, we were down.
I found life, I found this and it's all of your strength that got me through it.
So brothers in arms, let's march home towards calm,
towards oceans and shorelines with open arms. [x4]
So if I hurt you, if I let you down just remember we were close, we were down.
I found life, I found this and it's all of your strength that got me through it.
I'll never know what led me down that path,
what made me lose my grasp (what made me lose my grasp).
But now the years have passed and I know in my heart,
no matter where I am I won't follow that path. - Hudba
The girl that Joel hugged that broke down crying, that hits me really hard. That's just proof of how powerful music is. Amazing job by Amity Affliction.
was a boy lol
Im not saying the message isnt powerful or good, which it is, TAA lyrics are the closest lyrics Ive ever seen that related to me when I was depressed
But Ive seen Scene girls cry over literally anything lmao that dont mean much
@@Marksman5147 I'm not a scene girl, but I would probably cry too if i got to hug Joel
The pinacle post-hardcore band of this decade
Nobody cares lol
I first heard this song when I was a miserably depressed 23 year old going through the toughest breakup of my
Life. Now I’m 32 years old and have my demons in a chokehold and am 100x happier than when I was younger. Still love this band and this song.
Man you know, it’s funny you say that. I’m sitting in my car straight bawling my eyes out for no reason. Thinking about how I felt in the old days. I too found this band in dark times, it fills me with emotion knowing that I don’t feel like that anymore heading in to my 30s.
Respect 👊
This band is so underrated.
Underrated? They've been well known globally for quite a while.
Other planets need to know about these guys.
BMcknightC lol yes! I agree my fellow inner city youth.
+9999
10 000 000 views , roadrunner records yes so underrated hahahah
i love the beginning of this music video. that girl in the pit is just enjoying the music to the fullest
its beautiful, you can truly see how music makes you feel.
Mariba Loar at least i wasnt the only one to notice this :P Also she looks pretty hot too!
Always a plus
+Mariba Loar That's a guy lol
+HmmZack It's a guy/
+h3aveNsHaZe how did u think that was a girl.
2:07 The reason of why i believe in music
Beautiful
one second that broke hearts
There aren't many things that can invoke such an emotional response as music. It's amazing how ingrained it is into our DNA.
True
I honestly love The Amity Affliction. Even though I knew of them when they started getting big back in 2012 due to Chasing Ghosts, I didn't realize how much I loved them until I saw them on the Hollow Bodies Tour with BlessTheFall. Seriously, this band has gotten me through so much, and I hope I can see them next month when they come to Chicago again.
They came to Chicago recently for the disobedient tour it was amazing
Me too dood
This will always be my favorite Amity song, nothing could ever overtake it.
facts, but THERES SO MANY
im not gonna lie when i saw that girl bawling her eyes out hugging the singer made me die a bit inside probably cause my empathy level is like way of the scale
on amity afflictions website their lead singer (Joel Birch) wrote his own "open letter" about the meaning behind the lyrics of their new song 'don't lean on me' it's a bit hard to read but he goes on about how he tries to sympathize with his fans and so on. its worth the time
Dude I thought the same shit it gave me chills!
I was just like Awww cx
So...does anyone want to have a kick back as we play TAA and sing our hearts out. Especially to this song. Anyone?
This band is going to be around for a long time.
They have and they will be around for even longer.
So Trueee
this comment has indeed aged well
Still relevant
still my fav banddddd
I ain't gonna lie. I'd probably cry too if joel gave me a hug. 💯
If this song helped you and gave you hope or a reason to live your life drop a like
Fishing for thumbs
The Amity Affliction gave me hope and a reason to live
They showed me there are far too many reasons for me to stay here on this earth.....90% of them are their songs
I've only known about this group for like, 3 months? But istg. The most life changing group I have ever gotten into. I love these dudes.
Same bro. I found out about them like 6 months ago, favorite band right away.
This band means so fucking much to me. I would definitely see them in concert but I have really bad anxiety when it comes to crowds. I'm kinda tiny so I'm terrified of getting shoved around and trampled honestly. But if I could see them I would.
get in there and go nuts. They have great shows and it's definitely worth it, even if you just stand at the back and watch. They have a way of turning a 2000 person crowd into a 70,000 person crowd.
Colin Robertson thanks man :3
You should visit their concert, definitely! I'm from Russia and they have delayed their concerts in 2014... So I came to TAA concert in Hamburg one week ago. And... And it was one of the best day of my life.
I hear u. I typically stand in the back at concerts.
I'll carry you on my shoulders;)
8years ago but it feels like they released it Yesterday
Seeing The Ghost Inside in this video makes it that much better
My worst days have gotten better from these dudes
Favorite band! Freaking amazing! I love anchors and open letter
How rad is that chick at the start just owning the pit
colonelcoltech wish I were her hahah
+colonelcoltech It's a fucking guy.
h3aveNsHaZe that's what I'm saying 😂😂
Pretty sure that is a dude with long hair
imagine if thats actually a dude and he sees this comment xD
2019 and still my fav.
Fuck yeah
Amity forever
I just discovered this band, and love them already. :D
fuck you kmel
this is the first song that got me into this band
Where is this music nowadays? The good times, the endless summers, the nice people at concerts... and everyone rocking out Vans and beanies in the summer. Shit. We ve grown up.
Still here 2021 baby
2022, holds up so well🖤
this is the only music video i can watch over and over and not get sick of. i love this song and video so fucking much.
This kind of music videos were so 2012/13 i really miss those times when i was younger, and look at them so young, ahren here in particular looked so young, almost like a mid teen, even if he was in his post mid 20's during those years
I don't know why but life was so great back then. We could've laugh off or lose our shit on just one funny thing, and it was all good. What changed man?
This band is so underrated. I absolutely adore them. This is what music is all about. I really believe in these guys. 💞 Beautiful music at it's best. Cheers lads
every single time I hear "I won't follow that path", I choke.
Hahah holy shit at 3:51 when Ahren's jumping into the bushes that's in Sacramento in front of Ace of Spades! So tight. I'm seeing them tonight in Sacramento for the 2nd time, I'm stoked
I miss these days. Good, melodic, heavy music. I’m so happy I got to be a part of the scene.
Once I see this song performed live I will die a very happy man
All I can say is thank you for being there for me the last 11 years ❤️
Underrated for sure!
To be fair this song changed my life. Not only the way I look at life but also I discovered my favourite band with song.
That one band that I can always go back listening to and knowing that many others relate to the way I feel. I really love this band and I couldn't ask for any other favourite band.
Thank You Amity. ❤️
Love you guys always. I’m 28 found this band when I was like 22. Lol. Forever I love you guys. You made me better myself back then thank you. :)
0:31 let the ocean take me
Amen too that 😂😂😂🤘🤘
thats a wave pool
@@nicklibertucci3295 let the ocean take me is the album after this one
I am a metalhead(Metallica, Slayer, Death, Cannibal Corpse, ETC) and I like these guys I heard of them through their chasing ghosts song they have the talent in the Metalcore industry like the band Emmure and they bring so much to the metal industry as a young group
2021 anyone out there?
This song gives me goosebumps and cold chills. That’s how I know it’s good music.
this song means so much to me i was a ragging addict for 16 years and have changed my life almost two years ago and ive made amends for the things ive done "if ive hurt u if ive let u down just remember we were close we were down" that line means so much to me.
You guys Saved me.
Holy fuck i remember watching this vid with less than 10k views
Dylan Evans me too. I just recently got back into them. I missed them a lot.
I've never heard this song before, but it's fucking great. Now it's my favourite one
Dylan Evans dude same, they've grown a lot of fame and it's actually pretty impressive
been listening to these guys newer stuff lately and cant get into to it..I always love this song though..is it just me or is there a definite sadness to this song..gives me instant blues
This song has got me through so much, everyone hates on me for listening to this music. This band has so many relatable lyrics for me and other who deal with anxiety and depression. These lyrics keep me so motivated to move forward. God bless guys
I was just starting freshman year when this came out. I'm now in my 2nd year of college, god I feel old..
This song is amazing. I want them in Brazil
0:07-0:13 that girl singing the beginning of the song. 🤘
Nicholas Castleberry
I want to know who that chick is.
I will find you.
And i will mosh with you.
I dont know who she is, but i love her, i na non-creepy ass way that is
@@AlphaKiloPolitics Dunno bout you guys but I'd smash 10/10 lol!
AMAZING, BEST
I can just feel the love. Between the band, family and fans. Simply makes it hard to not fall in love with the band back. The world needs more bands and love like this.
I would love to see these guys in concert!!!
the amity affliction > life
I wish COVID-19 never happened so me and all my friends can have fun all together like they’re having in this video 🥺
nice
🔥🔥🔥
this video taught me to enjoy life and to be different from others, much love TAA
ONE TO MUCH fuck ya
ONE TO MUCH lmao 😂
Su mejor tema por siempre y sin discusión. ♥
I love the girl in the beginning just vibing by herself, looks amazing
fuckin hell yeah !!! when i seen these guys live i had never been more calm since i was a young boy sitting in church looking straight through the pastor vibing with the holy spirit
Y'all are my idols. Y'all taught me to outshine the normal people and be the weirdo and have fun with life
still bumping in 2017, the lyrics are timeless.
It’s now been nearly 9 years since the first time I saw the boys. I just got home from my 14th show ❤ I love you guys
hey guys just wanted to say big ups to amity you broskies are awesome beyond measure
lord have mercy. i was just listening to them while writing my homework and i took a look at the lyrics and i started crying. i didn't really know anything except "I'll never know what led me down that path, what made me lose my grasp" and the rest of the song reminds me of how my depression caused me to hurt others and lose quite a few friends and push everyone i love away. it just hit me like a ton of bricks
:')
It did for all of us. March on towards calm.....
+anil30395 exactly...i find such comfort in their music :)
New favorite band
Love this song!
I've seen them once and going to again two times over the summer. TAA FOR LIFE
Joel looks so happy. Who would ever know he was so depressed?
Usually how it goes.
Well the video I think is showing how well he recovered
One of the best bands ive ever heard
Such a beautiful song!!
So brothers in arms, let's march home towards calm,
towards oceans and shorelines with open arms.
96 people followed that path...
fuck you kmel
Anybody else play there songs after a rough day? Its therapeutic af
This band is perhaps the most underrated band of all time!
One of the best bands ive gotten the chance to see live twice. They have a great sound and their chemistry as a band works for them. They stand up for what they believe in. They write music that speaks to their fans. To those who dont care for them, that's fine. No one is making you listen.
Vocals are so beautiful!
They sound pretty layered or corrected to me. That is what makes them shitty, just like everything else about them.
Hastein45 they actually sound exactly like this live. Stop talking about things if you have no backing knowledge.
GODofMONSTERLAND no one is making you listen to them. Dramaaaaa
2:14 blink t shirt. Sweet. Watched this many times and only saw that now
This gives me goosebumps every time
love this song
What monster dislikes any of this band's videos?
I love how they are getting smashed in every scene. They know how to have fun and relax and just be "normal." c: Party on~
yer I know right that's y I luv them
Awesome role models right?
Yeah, well yes and no, at least they are staying true to their selves Sailor1010
Becka Scott Joel's 100% sober now, so he can be a great role model!
Awww c: good! Colton Frausell
The most consistent band for a few years now, love these guys!
Loving this group soo much!!
I love this band, it helps me study, and IDC what people have to say!!!
What I have to say is... I understand you, TAA helps me to concentrate and their songs make me feel better and happy and the need to do a circle pit in my room and IDC what people have to say!!
This band helps me thru work lol
The best part of this video is the girl in the pit rockin out xD
Its a guy
It’s a dude
MY FAVORITE SONG. THANK YOU GUYS!!!!!
this is so perfect
Joel is so cute
4:02 Pretty much what I'm doing in my room right now.
that made me chuckle!
I'm basically the girl from 0:07 to 0:15
Jason Dziadyk Nice! :D
THIS SONG IS INCREDIBLY AMAZING!
this band is literally perfection.
who doesn't like this special song of The Amity Affliction?
LIKE for yeah !!! COMMENT for too bad !!!
The scene at 2:06 gave the goosebumps
Same
This album is amazing
I love this band!!!!!!!!
to people saying how did that girl not get knocked down in the moshpit, she was in the middle no one was touching her.
Who fucking car s
I've followed the Amity for a while, but is this group one of the few bands that don't have 16 year old girls ruining it for us ?
+Timmy Scott I don't get y its so wrong for teenage girls to like a band. Not all of us "ruin" it.
I guess not all of them are bad.
+Timmy Scott I'm a 16 year old girl and until now have simply enjoyed the music without any unnecessary bull...so, not all girls is what I'm trying to say I guess...BUT...I do get what you're saying and where your coming from.
I have 16 And I'm a girl . I Love rock , hardware and metal since I was 9 so
It's becoming a bigger trend because Amity are gaining much more popularity since LTOTM was released. Their sound is poppier than their earlier stuff so they're bound to get teenage girls liking them.
I love this
this makes me so happy, amity is my favorite band by far, awesome guys, awesome music.
1:05 Holy shit that's Jonathon Vigil from The Ghost Inside!
