  • The time has finally come for another home theater update tour in 2023 on my journey to endgame. My previous one back in Sept 2021 was one of the most popular videos on my channel and I can't wait for you guys to see all the work that has been done. While I was originally planning to do these annually, I skipped 2022 due to me doing so many upgrades that I wanted to include in the tour. Now at the end of 2023, I can say that this room has pretty much reached the vision I had for it 5 years ago. Lots of new additions in terms of seating, comfort, and of course recreation for adults and children alike. Stellar audio and visual quality punctuated by my ultimate speaker upgrade, flagship home theater processor upgrade, flagship audiophile 2ch amp, and a wireless hi-res music streamer to boot. It's amazing to see how this space have evolved over the years! Come check it out with me!

    I remember your theater, i think i saw it featured on another channel. Yeah your theater transformation is awesome and it acheives exactly what you said, its a multi-functional space and has fun for everyone. I knew u were gonna say that pop-a-shot would be popular. I have the same barstool style with black metal frame, swivel and grey leather, but mine were from indoor furniture, custom made for 46 inch counter. But very good quality, 10 years still good. My only thought, you could add to arcade- maybe some RGB lights/neon signs, retro decor or a black area rug under the machines. Kinda set it apart as a separate "room". That kinda messy/dark arcade room sorta feel. And maybe a black popcorn machine between theater/arcade, even if just for decor. But thats my 2 cents, your room is amazing. Youre inspiring me to do an update video of my room too. That pool table looks awesome/good quality.

      Thanks for watching and sharing this comment! Those are good ideas about the arcade lights/signs. I've been targeting a popcorn machine for a while but we tried one on loan for a bit and it was a pain to deal with so I didn't end up buying it. Still may do so at some point but it dropped on the priority list based on that experience. Great feedback and suggestions tho 😄

    Great video and love what you transformed this space into. Great component selection. You definitely have the power to feel the music and the bass! How is the surround volume with the speakers that far back?
    Great Job!!

    • @TruTechnoGamer
      @TruTechnoGamer  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Thanks for the kind words and for watching the vid! Great question on the back surrounds. While I could imagine they would be more immersive if they were closer, I can actually hear them pretty well from my main position. I would say that I may lose some of the smaller ambient effects in movies but when there is panning effects behind the camera in games and movies, I can hear those pretty well. The room correction and bipole design helps to fill in that space back there pretty well. When you look at the room, sometime I may have folks sitting the bar stools or even in the back area for movies. For those situations, those rear speakers work well to "include" the rear of the room in the action. And even for large group music where I want to fill the room, running my system in surround or All Channel stereo mode is great for really filling up the entire space and those back speakers do a wonderful job with filling in that entire back area.

    Nice job ,you're singing my song I've been rocking my JC5 with my Paradigm Founder series 120H's and Parasound A23 + 's for my C90 , and surrounds . I have recently picked up the Paradigm XR13 too go along with my Velodyne DD15 and a third nearfield sub. Recently replaced my Gustard A22 DAC streamer with a Master Edition Eversolo DMP - A6 and added a linear power supply. Also will never give up my Oppo 203 ....I can listen to music and movies all day . Paradigm makes some amazing audio .

    Agree with your phylosphy building and choosing on your own use case and what you like (not choosing what everyone says is the best). Like you, being a dad, for me I had to incorporate my current audio system as my accountant (wife) doesn't understand the hobby so I have chosen wisely 😉. Because of my use case that includes every type of media and use including listening to music, I ended up with a 85" 900C tv, RZ50, and my matched EmpTek E55ti towers in red burl finish and surround speakers (no $ for speaker upgrades) and I am very happy as I built my system around my specific use case. Like your video and approach, now it's time for you to enjoy!

    Beautiful system, but you are wrong I do my streamer on my oppo.
    The oppo is roon ready I use roon with qobuz and sound really good.
    I had the node but I return it because I didn’t need it. My primary playback is records.
    Also you can have both at the same time I use a parasound p5 as a pre amp since the pre has a HT by pass so you can use the best for music and movies.
    By the way how you like the outlaw for atmos I was planing to get it for my atmos but I saw people had issues with buzzing sound.
    Cheers!!

      @TruTechnoGamer  Před 7 měsíci +1

      Thanks for watching and for the comment. Interesting about Roon for the Oppo. I don't have Roon at all right now but was looking into considering it once they sorted it out on the Anthem AVM90. I'll check it out once I go there. The outlaw is great for what it is. It's a great value with solid performance for the price. For the atmos, it's more than enough problem. No problem with buzzing on my end.

    Great video and much appreciated for the time you spent putting it all together. Mad props on choosing all the right gear. I’ve been researching for months now and the Persona seem legit. Not sure I could pull the trigger though! Time will tell. I have two questions after watching your two part video “end game”. Now that you have invested so much $$$. Are you truly satisfied? I mean does your set up give you that feeling you got when you were going through the grind of finding the end game setup/sound? And secondly, with regard to the bluesound node, does this mean your speakers are fed the signal from its dac? If so, isn’t the dac in the avm90 much better? Love your HT setup and I hope you truly are enjoying it! Peace

    • @TruTechnoGamer
      @TruTechnoGamer  Před 7 měsíci

      Thank you for watching and commenting. Your questions are excellent and difficult to answer here 😀. I'll start with perhaps the easier one regarding the Bluesound Node. You're right I didn't make it clear in my video but I'm NOT using the built-in DACs on the Node. I'm just using it as a digital pass thru to the AVM90 and using the processor's DACs which are (as you pointed out) much higher quality. That's a big part of the reason why I didn't invest in some super high priced DAC to being with as it didn't make sense for just digital pass thru. Now to the "am I truly satisfied" question...short answer is 'Yes" I am. That said, it's touch because I still have a lot more to experience with my system to really take in what it's capable of. Still lots of learnings that is impacting my perception of the system over time. But as of now, I don't have any FOMO, regrets on my choices, or sense that I need to upgrade any of the core components. I'm working on a video now that will wrap up my thoughts and I promise to go into more details on this question 😉

      @@TruTechnoGamer Thanks for the reply and for clearing up the dac question. No doubt you are satisfied and I assume, growing throughout the whole journey! Look forward to seeing your final thoughts video. Give it some time and enjoy the experience!

    Your home theater is Beautiful. Question? Have you tried moving your towers to the far left and far right of the room, and then move your front left sub where your left tower is. Your center channel is a beast just like your towers. I think it will increase your home theater experience. You'll will be able to really hear the sound move across your front stage. My towers are 6 to 8 feet from my center channel and my front stage sounds very dynamic. My room is 22 feet wide and my towers are damn near corner loaded. They're not in the corner. They're 2 to 3 feet from the wall. I have 6 Ultra towers in my setup.

    • @TruTechnoGamer
      @TruTechnoGamer  Před 7 měsíci

      No I never had my towers in the far corners although i did have them a tad bit farther out than they are now. Having my towers that far apart really wouldn't work in my room, especially on the front right side where it would block the walkway to the bathroom and the playroom for the kids. Same reason I don't have wide channels in my theater currently.

    I had to turn my SB16'S up to -8, to really hear the bass. What's the volume do you use for your subs. What tweaks did you make to get your subs sounding better, other than moving locations?

    • @TruTechnoGamer
      @TruTechnoGamer  Před 7 měsíci

      If you're turning up your subs to that level just to hear the bass, there is a problem with your room or your processor config. My subs on only at -18db on the subs themselves and the bass can be too much at times for some guests. I have plenty of headroom with the SVS subs but it sounds like you may be in a null in your room or your EQ is off. Most of what you hear with a sub (good and bad) is due to the room so keep that in mind when your dialing them in.

      Yeah I thought about it, but I generally prefer TVs over Projectors any day for a number of reasons. Not the least of which is the fact that I'm a huge gamer and TVs are much better for that purpose than projectors IMO. Also, image quality of TVs is better, especially since my room is not fully light controlled and not dark most of the time we're viewing.

    Personas are really nice but is it an end game theatre? No. Those speakers are more geared to music. Less so HT. They’re great for HT. BTW, I have paradigm studios. Personas just aren’t at the exceptional level for HT that you would get with compression driver HT speakers from a company like Ascendo.

    • @TruTechnoGamer
      @TruTechnoGamer  Před 7 měsíci +2

      Thanks for the comment and I get your point. I've done extensive vids on my thought process with the Personas and while you are absolutely correct about them for HT, my goal was to elevate the music quality in my system while still having a quality system for HT. In other words, my goal was to find the best system to excel at both music and HT even if it's not the last word at either. In my experience, I felt the Personas came closest to that. They sound amazing for music while being highly dynamic with a wide sound stage, highly efficient, and great "disappearing" act for HT. Sure something like JTR or Ascendo would eclipse it in pure HT applications, but they don't have the music performance of the Personas IMO. So it's a delicate balancing act that I feel the Personas excel at 😄

From my home theater equipment level, I really don't have much further to go (or more importantly that I'm willing to go).
