​​In its most simple form, an injection mold is two blocks of metal pressed together by an injection molding machine that is filled with molten material to form a plastic component. But depending on your components design requirements, this simple concept can become complicated very quickly with multi cavity tools, family molds, three plate molds, and even molds with side actions, unscrewing features, stripper plates, undercuts, not to mention all of the different materials that can be used to build an injection mold. So in this video we're going to cover all of the different types of injection molds including the advantages and disadvantages of each type so that you can make an informed decision on your next injection molding project.
