  • Hello,
    welcome to this video,
    This video is the trip report of my flight to Orlando Melbourne International Airport, Florida on the 787-9 dreamliner of TUI UK from Manchester.
    Our aircraft on the flight was this 4.4 year old Boeing 787-9 registered as G-TUIL and previously worse the registration SE-RFF for TUI fly Nordic,
    Our flight was scheduled to leave Manchester at 12:15 but a heavily delayed inbound flight for G-TUIL from Montego Bay pushed us back till 17:00 for departure and that was nearly a 4hr 45 minute delay, The previous flight for G-TUIL arrived about 6hrs late,
    Our approach into Melbourne Orlando International Airport was a very smooth and beautiful approach,
    Our aircraft landed at 20:20 in Melbourne but it was scheduled to land at 16:00,
    This gave us a flight time of 8hrs 21 minutes and a delay of 4hrs 20 minutes,

    Aww good vid! We flew on G-Tuil Oct 18th 2021 from Las Palmas Gran Canaria to Birmingham. Initially the plane was supposed to be 737 Max 8 but ended up with the 787-9. We had purchased extra leg room in row 4 on the max 8 (same as the flight out) cause my son is 6ft 2. So due to air craft change we still ended up in row 4 extra leg room but that ended up being in premium economy! Sooooo roomy. As it’s a 2-3-2 configuration. We were in the centre and row 4 so I didn’t get to see what the windows seat was like in terms of cleaning! We didn’t get any of the package that come with premium economy, as that’s not available on this route! I was more than happy with the seat and crew. This aircraft was so smooth! Unrelated to the flight, we got to see the ash cloud from the volcano on la palma!

Pointing this out for the benefit of those looking to travel in the Premium section where the last row, row 7, has no window.
    Strangely enough row 6 in front has two.

    I’ve just got back from a trip with tui 787 from Bristol to CancĂșn and can honestly say it was the most filthiest vile plane i have ever flown. It made Ryanair look clean . The problem stemmed from the fact that the inbound flight was late and they wanted cut the delay down.but for ten hours it was inexcusable . I know tui don’t offer a emirates class service but there flights are cheap long haul. Apart from that I was fairly impressed the services offered and surprised about the free drinks and main meal and landing snacks given to basic economy.

    • @alcaviation
      @alcaviation  Pƙed 2 lety +2

    • @mikoto7693
      @mikoto7693 Pƙed 2 lety +1

      Well, I can give you a pretty good reason why that Tui 787 was filthy. The cleaners simply aren’t given enough time to, you know, actually clean the aircraft much of the time. Imagine that you’re a cleaner literally halfway through cleaning one of the lavatories. You just need two more minutes to finish it. But before you can, you’re told to drop it and leave the plane immediately by the dispatcher on order of the captain who wants everyone off right away so passengers can be boarded.
      Or imagine that you’re told that you don’t need to wipe the folding table if there’s no stains. And oooh I’d love a word with that pilot. Cleaners DON’T choose when to board the aircraft. They don’t choose how long they get. And they often don’t get to choose the standard of cleaning. It’s all hurry hurry hurry go go go go no time to do a decent job just get off fast.
      What a jerk. Yeah the cleaners were most likely late because they were being rushed from plane to plane without sufficient time between slots.

    I feel like the name melbourne Orlando is just such a lie as someone who lived in melbourne FL for a hot minute lol
    for a bit more context on why orlando melbourne is "new" melbourne was never allowed to say they are "orlando" for years, (proof is at 21:59 notice there is 0 mention of orlando!) because they simply are not in the orlando metro area at all! (nor is there realistic transit to get there nor are there any plans to incorporate any as Brevard county has denied Brightlines many offers to build a station in the county. the county officials are under this allusion Brevard county has a trouism industry and a train line will somehow eliminate it) yet the only airline to bring tourists is TUI who are going to "orlando" and the only attraction we have is a defunct space center and an crappy rundown beach. after they were allowed to market themselves as "orlando" they started going after orlando sanford airport's airlines (which actually is close enough to orlando to be in the metro area) even offering to remodel and thus why the only international airlines at Sanford jumped ship for melbourne because tourists will just assume they are in orlando and the airlines saved money! MLB actually did have international flights before the "orlando" name but it was a Canadian airline called porter and it was seasonal and obviously canadians are not going to fall for this as they have multiple non stops to MCO. I'm glad you finally reviewed this flight i've been very curious how tui is as the essential sole operator at MLB other than regional jets only flying to 2-3 places.

      @@alcaviation very true at least there is public transit in England. In Melbourne you’re just in the middle of the city you’d have to drive to Orlando or even to the port honestly. I highly doubt any cruise lines offer a shuttle all the way to Port Canaveral for such an underserved airport. They do have services from mco ironically the further airport lol

    flying on a TUI Dreamliner

.hardly a Dream and certainly not a Liner. I’ve just been on a TUI Dreamliner from Gatwick to Cancun and back. The flight out was pretty rubbish, the flight back was a total embarrassment. I sat in the front row (bigger seats etc), my screen was broken, the tray leaned so far to the left once out of the central armrest my food tray would fall off if I didn’t hold onto it. My seat and surrounding area was filthy and the crew didn’t know what food we were having - ‘chicken with something, beef with something and pasta with something’, take your pick. To be fair the crew were lovely, however the aircraft was like flying in the 80’s on a knackered old Trident or similar, not flying in a 8 year old Dreamliner. Sorry TUI, you were terrible and I will not fly your airline again if I can help it.

      Oh you aren’t kidding about the awful state of Tui Dreamliners. There is one where one of the trailing edge flaps hangs down from the wing instead of laying flat in alignment with the rest of the wing when on the ground. It’s not dangerous otherwise the pilots would refuse to fly it but it sure looks tacky. Another one has the innermost layer of one of the windows broken and taped up and while I was kneeling across one of the rows to clean the other side, the whole plastic cover on the side of the chair fell off.
      The whole thing looks tacky and old.

    The rubbish in the window seat area is just disgusting. I dread to think what the toilets are like. That’s Tui off my list of carriers. It seems the return to pre covid has caught everyone in the airline industry by surprise.

      Tui do it to themselves. They refuse to land their planes in the mornings and then arrange it so that anything between 3 to 6 planes all land within 2-3 hours or so after lunch. This means the understaffed cleaning teams scurry from plane to plane with no time to do a proper job.

      If it’s the music played when the plane had passengers boarding then that was Tui’s fault.
