Grew up smoking heavy weed to Drake's new CD's which was Take Care & Nothing Was The Same, was 17 at the time, now when you hear Take Care album it's nothing but Nostalgia & music that aged well 👍
Nothing was the same had me in my bag in middle school💯. Every song hit he separated himself from a lot of rappers with this album, and he’s definitely right that this album aged well that’s facts.
I don't know if I would out replace Started with 5am. As an artist today, you still need singles and "club-bangers" and that song still gets plays. 5am is cold but doesn't necessarily fit on an album.
Nothing Was the Same was so much more than an album- it is also a metaphor for his life and career from that moment. For me, this album is what got me interested in the music, as well as, the man himself.

Also it was this album where I not only experienced my first Drake concert, but first concert in general. It was just a moment in time I will always look back with fondness. NWTS was his most mature work and highlights what drake does best. Every single song is amazing or very good on it. Take Care had lots of cringe moments but that was it's charm during the time. I always refer people to songs like The Language, From Time, Pound Cake, Connect, Come Thru, and Tuscan Leather and compare them to Marvin's Room, The Ride, Hate Sleeping Alone, Doing it Wrong and Practice. The former just has more of an umph to it that conveyed where drake was at the time. Although, Take Care's charm is it's vulnerability

Sure, Started From The Bottom is kinda lazy, and All Me & Hold On We’re Going Home were overplayed. But what about Wu Tang Forever? Pound City? Too Much? The Language? Tuscan Leather?
Started From the Bottom and Hold On We're Going Home were the two main singles promoting this album and All Me didn't even make the original cut so they are not substantial

After 10 years and listening to it recently. I'd say its gotten worse since 2013 i used to think this was a 8/10 but now its gone down to a 6/10. The content is poor and cringe and his flows are very mid and his bars are mid as well. The flows and bars aren't good to great or amazing just mid. On top of that his singing voice isn't that bad, he can stay on pitch but his vocals do come off monotone with no passion and emotionless when compared to other pop and r&b artist. I can't say its classic material besides certain songs but overall the project is okay. From time, pound cake, tucscan leather and hold on, were going home are the best songs imo.

NWTS woulda been perfect if Started From the Bottom was replaced with 5am in Toronto and 305 to my city would be replaced wit the motion
