Fwiw, in 2021, someone took your advice (or it's a coincidence) and moved _Smart Compose_ &
_Smart Compose Personalization_ together, in the right order, exactly the same way you described it in this video.
It's great to know more about Gmail! However, I'm wondering why many of my emails have landed in Important when I have done nothing (to my knowledge) to make that choice. How can I stop it? Sometimes I can't find an email in my inbox, so I have to search in Important or All Mail to find it. Maybe I don't understand the interaction among All Mail, Inbox, and Important?

On the top of the new emails there is a number of emails and next to it is a < > to move back and forth from the newer to the older emails. Suddenly my < and > have been replaced by huge numbers. I have unsuccessfully tried to get the < and > back. How does that work?

Thank You. At one time I used an automatic delete when certain senders came up such as an irritating message which is being sent repeatedly, Gmail will delete the message in that email and save you the trouble of having to delete it later.
Great video. Is there something I need to turn on? Some E mails only show the first line of the E mail none of the body seems like it is from mass mailings or news letters?
Use smart tabs to sort the inbox - Priority, Social, Promotions and Update. It takes only a few days to teach the system how to assign incoming mail. Very helpful.

Solid tips as usual Scott, going to give send and archive a try. Something I noticed from my own use. Nudges do not work without conversation view on. (Perhaps different in personal gmail I use gsuite) I personally don't like conversation view so I miss out on nudges.

Great question. 2 Gmail add-ons that I use frequently (in addition to Boomerang) are CloudHQ and Assistant.to.
This is a great video! Is there a way to set that you always observe your oldest emails first instead of your new? I know that you can change your view to find your older emails but I would rather have the old ones on top? Thanks!

When I begin typing my addressee's name in the "To" area, there are certain contacts that autofill, and others that NEVER autofill, or appear in the pick list, even if I type the contact's entire name. yes i suggest we learn using filter specific mail a seperate folder so we wont miss jumbled in between other mails

I did turn on the short keys on. So I can go my email with just my keyboard. It's so much faster.
I also turn on the option go to the next email. So when I archive a email I don't return to inbox, but go immediately to the next email.
I just looked it up and it's called keyboard shortcuts. My apologies for the mix up.
When enabled you can press a key for different actions. Some examples that I use :
C: compose
E: archive
F: forward
R: reply
A: reply all
L: label
And many more. Shift +? shows all the shortcuts.
You can customize them if you have a setting in Labs enabled.

Hi, I applied few filters and labels and I want to remove all and move my messages to primary from updates and categories what should I do?
Is there a way to reset everything.
There isn't any space between my lines so much it cuts off the top of the font on email page, could you help me?
If I create an email template to send to clients and you open it on a mobile device the font size in the body is larger than in the signature, how do I fix this issue. I did select "normal" on the text size for signature and the body of my email, so I am confused, on the pc it looks good....
I had my emails set up the way I wanted and Google did a new and improved way to use Gmail and now I can't find several labels that I had before. The labels used to run down the left side of my emails, now they (the one's I can find ) run across the top of my emails. To bring these up I have to have at least one email box checked. Can you explain what happened. I had some important emails stored in these labels. Thank you very much.

How do I request a read receipt in GMail if I don't have the option under settings?
I hate in gmail on an email string that the newest message will be at the bottom of the email chain. I would prefer the newest message to be at the top of the email chain. Can I change this?

Good video, but my problem is getting to settings. I don't use GMail hardly at all because there isn't a toolbar above the actual emails that has the settings gear or anything else on the same line as "compose". I'm sure I must be missing a toolbar, but have no idea how to get it back. The help icon does nothing, does not open up any boxes, etc. I's just a "dumb" button on my Gmail.

I need to start using the nudge. Also need to learn how to set "Hey Google" to yell at me every morning at nine or ten with a "Hey, Lazy Lady! Check Your Email!". The older I get, the less I feel like taking care of business. Good video, as always.
