- The purpose of translating this song is to explore how to convey the emotions hidden in the obscure and concise Chinese language in English, which I found very interesting. In doing so, I borrowed some of Shawn's lyrics (the English version of this song), Baidu translate, 360 translate, Google translate and my trashy brain. The finished product is still not native enough, not concise enough, nor vivid enough. I've checked the basic grammar errors, but there must be other mistakes, so you're welcome for more corrections ~
I don't think that person would ever come across this video, but I kind of wanna let him know that the only one thing I do admit having done wrong in the very beginning is that I once sincerely believed that I could really change someone, that person would change for me out of love, and as for me, love, tolerance and patience is all I need to pay. Totally wrong. After the same plot happening over and over again, after having it enough of all those inappropriate jokes, verbal abuses and threats, making up things that are not the reality and use them to attack people, intolerance of dissents, I'm tired of self-defense, and became mentally exhausted completely. I came to the realization that as adults, you can barely change anyone anyway, even towards a good direction. So a lesson to learn is that don't ever expect you might be able to help someone out, no need to watch articles or therapists' videos to learn how to heal them, no need to oppress your own feelings to try again and again. People don't want changes if that makes them uncomfortable, so sometimes you just need to respect their fate and let them go. Besides, don't ever use a relationship to deal with problems that already occurred in your life, that's not a shortcut but a trap. Only you can fix your own problems yourself. And don't ever over sacrifice, some people would take advantage of that.
