I'm the guy in the green helmet you pass @ 11:39. My bike just died for the second time. It turned out the positive battery nut vibrated loose. I fixed it just as the sweepers were coming through. So yeah, passed over 200 people, then got passed by 200 people, then fought back to repass most of those by the end of the first lap(50 miles). I called it quits there, did you finish?
Bummer, looks like you got hit hard! Glad you were ok! Interesting race. I am from Missouri and our courses are very tight single track. We also have ribbon marking the course, we are only allowed 10 feet on either side of the trail. There doesn't seem to be any markings, looks like you can pretty much go wherever you want. Super interesting! Our typical classes will have 5-30 people on a line. Is that whole line one class? That is A LOT of people in that race! We will have around 200 total. Sorry for the interrogation and long comment LOL.
This is a big race with about 1500-2000 people in just the first start, this is a big opennfield until it closes into a 20ft “holeshot” so everyone is going 40-50 mph

Can you imagine THAT many people taking off at the same time? I have so many questions but didn’t want to bombard the guy with too many 😆 Have you done one of these?
Yes... it's an open class event. There are ribbons throughout the course and you have to stay within 12 ft. Should be the largest race in the nation, right in my back yard! (3hr drive). It definitely has something for the entire family and that's the main reason I do the race. (3 kids and counting). Broke 1 rib per child I have)
Before the crash, it sounded like your clutch was slipping like mad. I did see that you had a recluse cover but not sure if you had an actual recluse but I would check your engagement with the throttle blip test.
I might have to look into the clutch. Its a rekluse auto. It felt good the day before, but I didn't rip it into 5th gear. I think I might upgrade to the 2023 xcf 350.
That sucks. Might have seen you on the ground at the start. I started right in front of the cannon and got to see it go off. Did your exhaust get messed up or something? Bike sounded bad after the crash. Hopefully the rest of the race went better.
Me too! Broke my rh wrist Friday out in the field. The desert has bite. My son still got to race, his video is on my channel and worth checking out. 🤏🏼
@@frostycone3170 yes but should be able see a decant bit in front I would expect and when everyone is weaving away from one point logic would dictate something is there.

Front exhaust popped out of the exhaust port. Don't know why the bike bogged out... first time in 5th gear at full throttle on the 250 XCW.

That second hit broke 3 of my ribs and the 3rd person ran me over, ripping a huge hole straight through my pant and through my hammock!
