- Neuweiler Brewery was built in 1911. The brewery, featuring its own generators for electric power, first started its operation in 1913. The brewery closed in 1968.
By 1932, the brewery and warehouse buildings were joined as one structure, and the former machine warehouse became an independent electric plant with an ammonia tank and ice machine.
The complex consists of an office building, brew house, stock house, chemistry lab building, bottling house, fermenting cellar, and more.
Neuweiler produced several brands of beer:
Light Lager, Cream Ale, Stock Ale, Premium Ale, Bock, Half & Half, Porter, Stout and Hochberg.
Neuweiler beers were available in the 12 oz. "Steinies" bottles, quarts, cans or kegs. When in full operation, Neuweiler was one of the largest employers in the city.
In 1950 the bottling plant and stock warehouse were expanded, but the brewery operations ceased in 1968 due to growing national competition.
The building was abandoned for over two decades until it was leased from 1992 to 1998. The new owner operated a pesticide, herbicide and detergent re-manufacturing business.
The site was abandoned in 1998 and has been vacant since.
A New York Firm, Ruckus Marketing, purchased the brewery for $1.7 million in March 2014. The firm currently has plans to redevelop the entire property, converting the majority into a new brewing facility.
The remainder of the space will be converted to mixed use commercial office space. The new plans call for a $30 million renovation.

I'm binge watching your stuff, your editing skills and video quality blow my mind. Really great work man, thanks for sharing with us! Also, I'm living in PA, your giving me so many ideas!
I love going back to this place!
Lol the chicks yelling in the beginning is the perfect representation of people in Allentown
I live in reading but can confirm this is accurate.
Read the first line and would've had to ask if that was you screaming.
Thanks for not screaming.
Lol
Allentown in buffalo ny? Sorry never heard of tgis brewery
@@mousejjt2 no the real allentown in Pennsylvania
Drove past this place today for the first time, I thought it was amazing building so tried to find out more about it. Thank you so much for posting this!!!!! ha ha woman screaming in beginning of the video does seem to capture the flavor of the neighborhood glad you did not edit it out!
Wow that would look amazing turned into apartments. The architecture is gorgeous & the stair rails & other bits & pieces inside are beautiful too.
Hebe Goncalves Knowing how old it is, I wonder if it's full of asbestos and would have to be completely gutted out and remodeled, which would cost a lot of money.
yes yes i want to steal the stair railing
That brewery would make into some of the finest luxury condominiums. Those arched windows are in high demand these days, for the big time clients, even higher profile retail and hospitality services. Medical clinic, and maybe even daycare facilities. Lots of room, can be earthquake proofed without too much work. Keep the original image, and use it for promotion. High profile design concepts could be integrated into the interior. VERY effective and preserves the history at the same time.
This was so awesome to see. I grew up right down the road and always wondered about this place. I always walked passed this place and thought it was such a beautiful building.
A gem and their memorabilia is very collectable
Would love to see pics of this place when it was new and in operation! Awesome architecture!!
Great video, such a cool old building, hope it comes back to life again. Thanks for the adventure!
theUnknownCameraman What wonderful work you do Just Love this went there and took pictures from outside the same year! Too old now to go in Places 70 years old, drank their beer when I was young.
Going to where none has...gone in a long time, awesome videos
There has been a lot of respect given to that complex
Good Lawd, that was awesome! Love the editing, the history and visuals. You nailed it again. These last two videos are by far my favorites (next the Mt.Manor Inn) Well done, buddy!
that old wrought iron hand rail is so cool!
I love it when they take beautiful redbrick industrial buildings like these and repurpose and renovate them instead of thoughtlessly demolishing them.
Beautiful piece of architecture...glad it will be restored.
Thanks for Posting this.
Loved the bits of info you included, nice!
Beautiful old building....
That Neighborhood is really shaky, I was at an old dance hall around the corner looking at a jukebox and the owners told me a lot of shootings happen on the weekends. It would be nice to see the place get brought back but they have to make that town safe or forgettabouit!!
Thank you so much for this video !!! Lived here all my life and always wondered how it looked inside that building
Awesome, thanks for watching!
Nice video -- thanks! Hope they make a great success of the renovation.
I'd grow up in Allentown and never seen inside of this place!
I see this is a popular spot.
I was a year old when this place closed its doors, makes me feel old and moldy too. lol
Love the intro. Also nice info graphics throughout the video too. 👍
awesome video mate
Great find mate, that's one big brewery! 👍
Another great video. I miss the historical before shots you would add.
hey unknowncameraman back in 1984 my brother and me went exploring a old train depot in KCMO ..busted windows 80ft vaulted cieling ..bout 1000 pigeons & now its a main attraction called science city or something like that we just called it the old union station thanks 4 upload
Thank you for showing us this ...scar.
Someone's going to renovate this place? Best of luck with that!
It's amazing that in 2014 someone paid 1.7 million dollars for this place. YES, it's super cool, but where would you even begin to renovate it to your own use? AND, how safe is it? It's a cool place, but 1.7 million? Wow!
Abandoned factories are interesting.
Amazing building
When I was there in 2006 this place was full of garbage. I see they've cleaned it out pretty well. I take it you guys didn't get to go into the locked areas. When I got to explore the place we had permission of the caretaker and he let us have free roam of the place.
saferkefka Were you able to get any video/pics of the locked area?
Yea, they're on uer. It was mostly full of junk the previous owner hoarded there.
saferkefka Ok
@@saferkefka is that in a computer? uer
There was also histoplasmosis which is a similar disease caused by bird crap first time i heard about the disease was when we were living in Indianapolis between 1973 and 1979, It was about 1975 when I first heard of the disease, there was an abandoned amusement park on the east side of the White River which closed in 1970
The first 4K video I ever saw and though I only have a standard HD display, the image quality is amazing.
Awesome....
I like your video's better with out other people around talking, just you and your friend!
What an incredibly fascinating place. Great video, even if the noise in the beginning was
little disturbing.
Lady yelling in the beginning, but amazing video. Please post more videos soon
Any news on what will happen to the place? You mentioned someone bought it only a few years ago. I'm amazed they'd toss a few million bucks out and still no restoration work yet...
I drive by it all the time and want to go in it but, we all know fines don't come cheep in Allentown now in days 😭😂
Would be nice too see a vid about the work going on when it happens.
How in the world did you Get in when I went there I could not find a way to get in anywhere.Love That Old Brewery, drank their Beer when I was young was very Good Beer and their Cream Ale was wonderful! Wish Ruchus Brewing. would have redid it like they said they would and saved it.
Brewed good beer at Neuwilers, much better than the swill Bud, Miller, Coors and Sam Adams brew now.
Chock full of stuff that could be repurposed! Very cool.
Well now I need a Beer 😁
Awe childhood ☹️☹️
Those steps where fine bro, they just broke out the bottom few too keep people from going up...just scoot up the rail around and be on your way.
Hey unknown , date recorded?
does anyone know if you can get arrested or persecuted for going here? I am just wondering if it's still open too
Fines if you get caught, yeah.
how about a throwback thursday style retro style vid with the voices hidden. long time fan here . I always thought the hidden voices made the vids bad ass and on another level. lol i bet anything other explorer vids would start copying that trend.anyways thank you for the content and keep it comin.
I liked other video intro much better it was very catchy please bring it back thank you
very nice video, SIR! Only time will tell if anything happens to this place....$30 million dollars.....sure
the text in the movie was to small to read.
Sorry about that. The text is also available to read in the video description if that helps. Thanks for watching!
Next time can u make the font with the buildings history bigger, it was squint worthy on my phone! Great video though!
Sorry about that. The text is also available to read in the video description if that helps. Thanks for watching!

A while back a homeless guy was busted for stripping all the cooper and brass from this place he got quite a bit before caught!
looks like somebody has been to the lehigh valley!!!
miklosscus for once
Sucks That nothing is being done to save it! as of 2018.
You never have problems with people inside that places?
There were a few other people walking around inside but they were cool and we tried to stay out of each other's way.
And am still a METAL head by the way. Good sht.
Damn that's an aggressive outro
What's with the ranting woman at the beginning threatening to call the cops?
Squatters?
moparedtn That was the "nana of pilsner", old lady Neuweiler herself.
This place is in the middle of a residential area.
saferkefka and?
Why is that woman yelling about calling the cops? WTF
twogreatguitars I could barely understand what she was yelling about.
Hey can you make written commentaries a little bit bigger, I'm old. Thanks.
nixx besser !
Kinda sad it could be a potential place for business.
It may be again in a couple of years.
thanks for uploading man
Too bad it's filthy & would infect the beer, or I'd brew some there.
The people who are talking are obviously not a part of your exploration, and am scared for you guys.
There's nothing in this world worse than a loudmouthed woman. Cool video though.
Todd E Walnuts This is the reason they invented duct tape
Todd E Walnuts What was she saying? I could barely understand her.
yeah, what was going on there?
Lets just say I hope she doesn't talk like that around her mother.
Dude this girl like me I was the spaghetti!
Get a stabilizer for fuck sakes!
OMG IM SOOOOO EARLY
