Highly recommend the tour at Ben Holladay. Really neat property and tour experience. Yes, you get to go inside the "cave." If you weren't aware, Missouri's bourbon standards are every bit as rigid as Kentucky's, however, the average temperatures during Missouri summers are 5% higher than those in Kentucky, and the average temperatures in Missouri winters are 5% lower than Kentucky. Cheers, y'all!🥃✌️
Discovery 1, 2, and 4 were all KY
Bardstown #4 was all Kentucky
I’m just here patiently waiting for Virtue Rye Barrel 3 to drop so I can buy it.
Appreciate all you guys do. Glad to see you guys growing and building your brand.
As a Scotch lover as well, one of my old favorites and go-to single malts was Glenmorangie's Nectar D’or. Specifically, the 12 Year Old before the revamped the wine finished line and dropped the age statement. What a beautiful, elegant, and easy drinking single malt. It, too, is finished in Sauternes wine casks and is huge on fresh baked pastries. I will certainly keep an eye out for the Angel's Envy. Cheers.
A local shop here in Atlanta had a Laws Rye finished in a Sauternes cask. It was fantastic
One of my favourite finished scotches is the arran single malt finished in Sauternes casks. Highly recommend
hey lot's of good stuff coming out as usual. Hope you get everything you are looking for. Also looking forward to your new releases. Cheers
I’m really looking forward to the Dusty Backbone pick.
Heaven Hill 17 was a small batch. Included up to 20 year-old bourbon in it.
Bardstown disco 1,2, and 4 are all pure Kentucky whiskey
The caves in Missouri are super consistent with their temperatures and they are very humid. The billboard they used to advertise for one off of I70 highway said “A cool 68 degrees” in the summer and they switched it to “A warm 68 degrees” in the winter
Lot's of Limestone Caves here in the KC area. Temps are generally in the 65 - 75 degree range all year round.
Heading to Holland this weekend for Barrel Bash hoping to score a Dragon's Milk Origin Toasted Barrel Release. Definitely enjoy watching your content and being from SWMI it's nice to see local guys growing. Keep up the good work!
What tx/rx gain settings are you rocking for the DJI wireless mics and have you experienced any bleed over from being so close to each other with picking the other person up on the opposite mics?
Looking forward to the reviews once you get the bottles.
I was at Woodford today and got to try the Master's Collection Sonoma and the Batch Proof mentioned, personally I preferred the Sonoma Master's Collection of the two.
Penn Brewing in Pittsburgh has a tiny cave on the property and the barreled some beer and threw it in there for a bit and served it during Oktoberfest this year.
The new OF decanter just released at $2.5k too…prices be crazy
Drove into VA this morning to pick up a bottle of Bare Knuckle 6 Yr High Rye Bourbon Cask Strength on clearance for $36, happened to catch some of the limited availability drop from last night and also snag a bottle of Jack Daniel's 2023 Special Release Twice Barrelled Heritage Rye for $74. It was good day.
Sauternes-finishes are usually only good with malt whiskey (American Single Malt or Scotch)
I really like Sauternes wine and have a lot of it in my cellar. But I never open it because even when it's a half bottle my wife and I can't finish it.
In Napa, everybody puts their barrels in caves. Depends on what you are trying to do (limit or maximize tannin/ wood sugar extraction)
A Cave is like a cellar, for aging purposes.
We dont get the whiskey row series here in Australia and it bums me out ive only tried 1920 and i love it
you can put brown forman 150th anniversairy in the same category as eagle rare 25, only 150 bottles of BF being released...
Have you guys had the Sauternes finished Hillrock bourbon?
Disco #4 was entirely Kentucky whiskey
I bought 5 EcBP c923s that's all I care about
Disco 11 - delicious. Enjoy!
I think you have a typo in the HH18 mashbill. I believe you swapped the rye and corn values
2024 Wishlist (That actually may be attainable for me)
OF1924
ECBPs
Larceny BPs
KC 12 & 18
LE ECBP French Toasted Barrel finished in bacon lined barrel
Weird to see knob creek 12. Thats always on the shelf for 60 here
@@LeatherDaddy97I've only seen it once in TN for 70
@@LeatherDaddy97 Def not here, I’ve seen it once and it was $99
@@justadudeintheworldman.120 sorry to hear that man
dam thats a old bottle of john j. bowman thats my daily bottle just picked up another bottle today along with larceny bp and ECBP one good thing about living in VA
OF King Ranch is no longer a Texas only release. I've been looking for one no luck yet
I want an OFBS Rye!
HH17 was not a single barrel. was a small batch just like 27yr and 20yr corn. The HH 85th Anniversary was single barrel as it was only 1 barrel release.
what kind of ham is in the spiral cut?
I've heard Disco 11 is very good.
You should rename the show Shook & Paisley…sounds like an 80s cop show name. 😂
The OF 1924 is supposed to be a 10 year BIB. Ironically, this year they were playing with the 117 Series offering a 9 year BIB. I was able to sample that at a tour last month and they would neither confirm nor deny if that will become the 1924.
I’m sure someone else already said. Disco 1&2 both all Kentucky. Disco 2 still the best one IMO
Any word on the OF 1924 MSRP?
I whole-heartedly disagree, the 20 year mellow corn was amazing. Too expensive. But, amazing.
Just finally got my hands on a ec c923. I’m about to also finally go pickup up a jack daniels single barrels rye bp.
Really thinking about picking up a disco 11. Just don’t know if I want to spend so much on bourbon. SMH. Wife is going to kill me.
The highest SRP thus far is the Space Whiskey, 75000 pre-pay. Well all know you two are looking to slide into Zach’s DM’s. He is willing to! Cheers fellas.
I passed today on the woodford Sonoma today. Just couldn’t do it for $150
Hey fellas I didn’t hear the Dickel 18 release on your list? 😢
What do the years indicate on old forester? Anything. (I’m a noobie)
They each have a story to them, so for instance the 1920 is prohibition style, the 1897 is for the bottled in bond act.
Compass Box Menagerie
Looking for 2XO gem of Kentucky
Ok, a video on when this bourbon bubble bursts, would be really interesting.
Normally I’d give you relentless shi7 however …. I have to say the lighting and sound on this video is GREAT! Do this on the livestream
Got luu fir u boys
Heaven hill 18 isn’t coming out this year
Disco 4 is all Kentucky
how old is that Bowman? They've been putting GREEN labels on their single barrels for a couple of years now. Even their tour guide couldn't explain why it was green... BTW, disco11 is my first disco and it's really good.
Would you bet considered doing reviews on different types of milk? And different brands? Lately my family is just so confused at the grocery store. We don’t know what to get. Any help would be appreciated.
😂
Straight from the teet small batch
@sharpdressedcat230thank you for your input❤
@@red5standingby419where did you find that?
Disco 2 was all Kentucky
So I’ve never had Angels Envy but my local is offering a private barrel not sure on the proof but higher than 100 for $82. Should I jump on that? I’ve never had Angels Envy but the way Sean talks about it it may be a good deal
I recommend whole milk
@@ThaPABproductions Yea you would like thick white stuff in ur mouth
Bought me some Raye glasses before the video was over.
Good on you Viski for sponsoring BJ.
No sponsor link, no pop up? I had to google it like a heathen. Boo.
Holy Shit, Holladay is selling Glacial Age from The Outer Worlds 🤣
Mad Mythbusters vibes
The rum finished Angels Envy tastes like an Antique/Candle/tchotchke shop. You know, the ones you find in little old down towns.
That makes sense considering it has flavoring of some sort in it
Temperate climate in Missouri? Over 100 in the summer and in the 20's in the winter...
I mean considering the winters dont get very low id call that fairly temperate
Is it me you're looking for?
I can see it in you eyes….
I can see it in your eyes
@@hammerdown5x I can see it in your smile
@@Wild_Danimal I can see it in your smile
Well played 😂
Just here for all the “disco X was all KY” comments.
Balcones did a Sauternes finished whiskey, The Pilgrimage.
What is proof of Old Forester 1924 Ten Year Old?
100 I believe.
Not the first disco to be all kentucky whiskey. Please check your facts. Disco 4 all Kentucky. Disco 2 all Kentucky. Disco 1 all Kentucky.
I tried rip 10 recently and hated it so thats off my list in the future. Also tried 2xo tribute. It was very meh. Wouldnt go over $50 for it. Im not sure theres really anything left this year ill be seeking out. Btw 11 definitely isnt the first all kentucky disco and mellow corn>buffalo trace.
I'm looking for the twinkle in Sean's eye to return.
0:33
What? No $2500 Old Forester 150th Decanter in your list? 😂
So many commercials popping up during the clip. What is going on! 😖
Not accurate about Discovery 11 at all.....Disco 4 was all KY.
Bourbon Junkies not Bourbon Geniuses
1st
I myself am looking forward to some VIRTUE SPIRITS to be honest.
Thats definitely not true, disco 4 was all kentucky
At what point do you decide to buy a $200+ bottle of Bourbon?
I'm looking forward to losing every state lottery I enter, and not seeing any interesting bottles at all.
I swear, I'm normally a happy person.
I am just sick of every bottle being released being 200+ it seems... we need new releases under 100 imo. We just don't need anymore limited, lottery releases at 200+... the market is swimming with them.
Those Norlan glasses are awful.
I have bottle of each expression (4 total bottles) of the Ancient Cave Collection. From what I hear they are AMAZING! @bourbonjunkies
If you have all 4 previous bottles why would you need to provide a review of them "From what you hear"?
@@red5standingby419 I literally just got them and since they are suppose to be so amazing I am waiting for the right time to open it. 😁
