- With all the rain and snow lately i decide to head back into the highlands of Tasmania where I have sniped eluvial crystalline gold in the past this meand battling the elements of snow with recent snowfalls. Join the adventure as we touch on some old gold mining history and take away some beautiful gold aswell.

Scuba diving navy years off the Oregon Coast. Just put a long strip of velcro in your kit, and secure a big rip in the ripped suite that way. Oddly enough it works pretty well until you can repair it. 😉

Levi you are a very good prospector you brave the freezing cold in a mountainous area for a gram or two of gold, with a ripped wetty and never once complained, just like a surfer it’s all about ( search and you will find ) at any cost.
Such an array of colour in that hard fought gold a really great find, well deserved my fellow Aussie 👏👌

Great job mate. Found some nice gold there.
Get yourself an ultrasonic cleaner to clean your gold. I use it to clean mine. Any bits of gold that fall off are trapped in it so it's never lost. Even though the plug in the sink does well.

Absolutely love that coarse gold! Found a patch with my SDC last year, all coarse or beautiful isometric crystalline gold pieces. Next day a storm dropped several inches of snow on the area!
Nice one Levi. When pin pointing with the SDC to find your moved target, tip the coil up on edge as being a mono coil the whole outer edge is very sensitive & will really bang on the target with a small narrow footprint & not the whole width of that 8" coil. :).
crystal gold forms after it gets heated twice. a deposit in rock when another intrusion reheats it, allowing it to crystalize as it slowly cooled. i have a very bright piece i found from New Guinea.
2 thumbs up, great video, I live in Ohio, which is under Canada, we received gold from them from 3 glacial pushes. I found some ore samples while gardening so now I am going back to this fissure that I am having no luck at and looking for more
Great video and I'm envious of the beautiful fresh running water. We only have dry dusty gullies here but we still have alluvial gold. I find the easiest way to dry the last out of my pan is to put it into a small white breakfast bowl and sit it on top of the toaster. Within a couple of minutes it's nicely dried out. Then I strain it through the tealeaf strainer that removes all the fine black sand (and some fine gold) I keep that sand for another process later.

My lesson for the day, I now know the difference between alluvial and elluvial, thank you :) I always wondered what you meant when you said alluvial. You are super dedicated getting out there and in the water in the depths of winter, your hands must get so cold. Need to treat ya self to a new wet suit. Nice and warm here, but hard to put a coat on once you plunged into that meltwater. Detect that black clay mate it looks to be loaded. The old blokes would have used a puddler. I bet there should be one there or a tough. THAT GOLD LOOKED GRAND.

Howdi from Nanaimo. We have gold like that here up the island too. Lots of ancient rivers. It's everywhere actually. It's amazing that we have the same topography and vegetation. Same trees and ferns. Millions of years ago we must have been connected before plate tectonics did their thing and placed us both on the opposite sides of the planet. Have a nice day. Love the vids.

Yo love your vids, hot tip, dont risk the rusty razor, I done it once an knocked the top off a little pimple on the top lip hidden under my moe an ended up with blood poisoning, I didn't think anything of it till I passed out taking my son to school an wrote my car off luckily we both walked away uninjured.

Over here in the United States where I live there are 6 different types of clay that I've run across black, red, blueish - gray, pink, green and white.
You've got the same ferns, the same mud, the same gold, even the same crunchy bars as I do on Vancouver Island! I'd feel right at home down there!👍
