    That’s really interesting! I will probably go on gel too when I (hopefully) have access to HRT. I’m 15 now. Thing is, I live in Eastern Europe and in my country testosterone injections that you can do on yourself are illegal under the steroids ban, which leaves gel as the only safe option. It’s been really cool hearing about your experience, especially since it makes me feel like I wouldn’t be ‘missing out’ on anything by not having the quasi-universal trans guy experience of injectable T lmao

    The prospect of having to inject every week bothered me too, until I found out that in my country, the only option was Nebido injections.
    Nebido is cool because you got one injection every 3 months, so there's little risk of mood swings.

    omg im so fucking glad that gel is just as effective as injections, i relate a lot with forgetfulness due to adhd but ALSO i am so incredibly scared of needles just the thought of injecting myself regularly literally makes me SO weak FGKGJHNFJGBMJFDN thank you so much for this video, its kind of hard to find videos on gel

    If you do your laundry with anyone else’s clothes, are you concerned about t-gel getting onto the other people’s clothes for yours?

      I have never heard of that happening

    Interesting - so you wait for it to dry by itself? I just rub my E gel into the skin thoroughly, so it's dry right away. I've heard people say you shouldn't rub it in, but it hasn't given me problems (like, my blood test E levels are above the cis-woman average, so it's getting absorbed).
    Also, I had the exact same thought process on gel vs injections - I've heard transfemmes who have fortnightly injections describe it as "going through menopause every two weeks", which didn't sound fun to me.

    • @TheosGhost
      @TheosGhost  Před 2 lety +4

      I probably could rub it in a bit more thoroughly but even so the instructions on mine say to leave it out to dry before putting on clothes, probably just different topical medications absorb different

    i chose gel because i just can't be bothered to go to a huge hospital every time i need t. also huge needles terrify me.

    This is super helpful, thank you! I’ve been using patches for a month now but I have a worsening allergic reaction to something in the patches (not the adhesive, but something in the T potion) and will likely need to switch to gel (I have a mild needle phobia).

    I liked to know more about the pros of gel. In my country there's free medical transition if you don't have private healthcare, but they mostly give inyections. So I won't use gel

    i’m on injections every 3 months and didn’t get that thing at the end, i also have adhd i would trust my self to do the gel every day so it’s just one injection and i forget about it

    Interesting, I’ve been on Androgel for 3 months (after being on IM injections for 4 years, big relief) and it says only apply to arms or abdomen! I wonder why the thighs aren’t an option.
    The only benefit to injections is that here it’s $60 for a vial without insurance instead of $150 for 30 gel packets (but I have insurance now so it’s $20)

      This comment is kinda old, but it's like the exact consistency of hand sanitizer. If you're sensitive to smells, it has a bit of an alcohol smell, also like hand sanitizer. I haven't really noticed the smell much, but other people are really bothered by it
