Did you ever talk about BUICK ENCLAVE
What is the name of the good one???
@@michaelsindberg6328 Valroc ZCX OBD4 Pro
For scan tools for someone on a budget (say the $150 range) whats the best one for the money?
Scotty what is the rule of thumb, to leave a car parked still and not drive it? I mean if you got more than two cars and you use one more than the other.
I wish you had said what the scan tools you had. So I could avoid that bad one.
U know that's right
@Sal Samaon except German manufacturers lol
@Sal Samaon ???? he bad mouths every single one for car brands modern products. he only talks good of mid 2000s toyotas and hondas. do u even watch the channel?????
@@ZaraPhyte woah calm down there a little scotty jr.
That good ones he showed is the CGSULIT. My local mechanic loans me one of those all the time and they work great for the destroynics like me. 😂
"Not only does it take forever and I can't wait any longer" 🤣🤣🤣
I got the Blue Driver scan tool after a Scotty video. Does everything I need it to do for $100. 👍
We also got the BlueDriver on Scotty's recommendation. We're very happy with it. It works with blue tooth and you read the data on your tablet, phone or computer. It's the first scan tool recommended on the video description.
Same here. It’s great! $100 well spent!
So did I.
Link?
Scotty man🙏🏽💪🏽💪🏽 u helped me alot last yr. we never spoke etc but your videos• kudos big guy🙏🏽🔥🔥
All of a sudden in my notification! Scotty with "Don't buy this crap!" Haha
I bought a CGSULIT because I saw you review it . It’s the SC301. Works fine for me and loads quickly. It can clear codes, so I’m happy with it. I trust Scotty’s reviews!
A couple years ago I bought a basic code reader for $45 (on sale) at my local NAPA Auto Parts. Innova model 30203.
It seems to do fairly well for me. I doubt I would want a more expensive scan tool for my car since it's 24 years old and doesn't have computer controlled everything, unlike more modern cars/trucks/SUVs/etc.
So, Scotty came on here to tell us all about 2 scan tools that he says are horrible, great. What are they called? Any suggestions of some good ones, rather than say ask a mechanic?
What was the point then?
Just look it up from the closeup he so obviously set up to make it easy. Literally the first link that comes up on a search.
Watch the video and pause it when you see the name.
Pay attention, kid! The main point is to not assume that price is an indicator of class.
Ask a mechanic to get the latest info. The advice will be different in a couple of months because new models will appear on the market.
Scotty showed some Xtool scanners in yesterday's video, as examples of good ones.
Pay attention, kid!
He said only one of those two are crap.
He's is avoiding getting flagged but still showing you...
Maybe you can tell us which ones to buy ...
Scotty is holding the VDIAGTOOL VT100 Scan Tool.
@@Zebra_3 what kind of name is that??
He does in most of his videos in the description box. Low, mid and pro.
@@T9RX3The name is the name
Always worth to watch any video of you!
"Not only is it slow" 🤣🤣🤣🤣
My laptop best scan tool. Vcds is so quick and so easy. And with mpps I can easily tune my euro cars. Perfect money makers
I bought mine at Walmart for $40. It can do simple diagnostics and show live data to an extent. Helped me with a few problems more than once. Worth the money but I definitely want to get something a little more high tech in the future.
You're awesome Scotty! Keep up the great work!
You need a video on the best scan tools!
Scotty is a 2005 sienna CE minivan with 175,000 miles still a good buy these days for $4,500
I am not Scotty I am Timmy....if the body is fine I would snatch it up....change the timing belt with a Toyota one/ go to rock Auto or other place and get the timing belt, water pump (aisin) and idler pullets and tensioner and also change out crank and camshaft seals.....throw out the belt that came with the water pump and timing belt kit....best vehicle to buy now since nobody wants a minivan....
A mini van you out of style stuck in the 90's
Might be cool to do an updated scan tool video with suggestion per price range Scotty! Like $20/50/100/300/500+ I think you did one like that awhile ago
Lesson learned from Mr. Scotty Kilmer. We may think both items we're looking at cost the same, but one of them are built much more different.
Scotty you must have saved us subscribers at least $100,000,000 collectively by following your advice over the years!
Any chance you can recommend ones for quality on mitsubishi and hyundai
You didn't mention brand names model numbers Etc in the video🙄
Which one is the best to program keys Scotty
I was going to buy the autel programming tool for my 07 eclipse, its 500$+ BUT you are limited to only key/fob programming etc...im trying to find a diagnostic tool for around the same price range that can program keys and fobs etc,but also has the capability to control all the modules spread throught the vehicle
So what’s the best shade tree mechanic obd reader (the one that keeps you away from the Main Street mechanic)
I have a 2022 f150 I was bummed in the rear now my bumper has to be replaced. They want 150 to re-calibrate my rear park sensors can I just buy a scanner and do it my self maybe even be helpful in in the future and save me some money in the long run. If so, which one would you recommend?
which ones are the best for your money Scotty?
Hey Scotty I'm a new mechanic who's been in the field about 2 years out of school can you recommend a decent scan tool that's worth the money and any other tips for me?
What do you think of the autel scanner - and which version is good
Is the snap on triton d8 still worth buying? Does it read diesel trucks? Found one at a pawnshop for 1600
Scotty: if you don’t buy this scan tool for $30 you’re stupid
Also Scotty: You get what you pay for at $160
Scotty, do you have a recommendation on scan tools for European vehicles? Specifically, Mercedes-Benz, and Porsche.
For some reason I'll always trust a guy with a Keychain ring like that. Especially Scotty.
I thought the same
I’ve got cheap Obd 2 reader I paid $40 for it and it works pretty good and it’s pretty Accurate
What OBD 2 scan tool would you recommend? Would you recommend one that can also program key fobs?
Thank you
One question señor Scotty…what about the FIXD little cube that bluetooths the car information to your cell phone??? Maybe you can teach us how reliable are those things 👀😳
I bought 3 of them for my mo. Sister and me my mom's was all linked up and she had just replaced the alternator.Driving down the road the car just died I read the fixed scan tool and it said it was all good. Well it was a faulty alternator again and the frigging thing wasn't even seeing that what pieces of garbage they all turned out to be!!!
@@Marebo07 Wow 😮 that stinks so sorry that happened to you…it’s a nightmare when the vehicles break down on the road away from home I will not trust those things and keep an eye on the maintenance of our vehicles, I really appreciate the Scotty Kilmer channel for all the advice and he nailed it with the reviews about Nissan my son bought an Altima and before the 100k miles the a/c compressor went out and then the Cvt automatic transmission was slipping and that was the end of the 2015 Nissan Altima so like Scotty said “stay away from those money pits “ You guys have a safe Christmas!!!👋😊👋
Scotty waved products around so I never know what he touts.
Hello Scotty, can you help me to choose what scan tool would be best for my Ram 2017 2500 Diesel pickup
Scotty what's the best one for a 2003 Ford Cobra 10th Annv with 40,000 miles? Thanks for the help bud!
Scotty. Iam looking for 1 scanner with electronic parking brake disable (retract) maintenance mode .lowest cost u know any ? Thanks
What’s the best scanner for a 1991 accord ex?
Scotty should make a video on which scan tools are the best 👌
He's mentioned a few in the 2½ years that I've been watching, but he warns that something better might come onto the market next month - and it certainly has.
Hi Scotty. Is there a scan tool for obd1 still?
Hey Scotty, I’ve taken my 1993 Lexus SC400 to local mechanics and to a Lexus dealership and none of them have a scanner that’s compatible with my car. I’ve been chasing what seems to be misfiring issue with no luck (replaced spark plugs, wires, ignition coils, cleaned the throttle body and MAF sensor). A scanner will be a big help. Can you recommend one? Thanks in advance!
I bought a $250 Foxwell tool right before it discontinued.. 🙄 How do they rate?
Good advice .. lots of reviewers on CZcams for them all
So Scotty tell us which one is better! Provide a link or give us the information on the good one!
Just buy a 1960's classic ride and throw away scan tools.
😁
Which ones are good
Scotty, which is the budget bidirectional scan tool to buy recommend by you ???
Well what is your preferred one to use?
What’s your opinion on the blue driver scan tool?
Scotty ,what is the best scan tool for the money
Yeah what's brand names on them which one is good or better one ??
I got the one that runs on a lap top. Mx scan or something. Full color and graphing. Raw data nnd everything. Back then it was $159. Better than the program volvo penta sold us for $10.000.
which scanner do you like under 300
Or buy a Toyota and maintain it good and you may not need tools
Hi I’m looking to buy a scan tool what’s a good one Thanks
So wich obd2 scanner should i buy??
do you have a recommended Scan Tool program for an Elm327 device? paid and or free? just curious your recommendation if you have one.
I have a Innova 3011 scanner I got for under $50 at Autozone works good for me
What's the best scan tool for Volkswagen (VDCS)?
Fixd any good?
Good scan tool for Lexus LS?
Chevrolet vortex 5.7 distributor timing with raised rpm
I've been satisfied with the blue driver it give me a lot of live data and clears codes and tells u how to fix the codes.
That's a good scan tool..... I actually like Innova...... the 2 I have have never given me any issues..... one is more basic and just reads the code and can clear it, but my other one breaks it down Barney Style for me or the person I'm scanning for
Anyone know the cheapest one that can actitivate ABS servos for bleading brakes? Heard u can just go slam on the brakes a few times on a dusty road or field
Are the bluetooth obd2 readers any good?
I drive for a living and I want a scan tool that can give me the absolute most amount of features at a reasonable price. I want something that can give me just as much info as the pros get so I can avoid going to a mechanic in the first place. I try to fix anything I can handle on my own.
And I don't mind paying for an expensive one because if it can save me going to the mechanic a handful of times I'll come out on top.
whats the cheapest tool i can get with misfire counts?
What is the best TPMS scan tool on the market?
What's the best scan tool under $250
The only mechanic I trust💪
Wats a good obd2 one that is a cheap starter version
Which one is better the snap-on code reader or xtools D8
Howre the FIXD ones?
How about a work up on Auto Enginuity.
You have to use your own laptop, but that's a bonus, as you are not limited to some proprietary device that you can't maintain.
Gracias señor
What’s a good scan tool I can get under $100?
Rev up your engines!! Go Scotty!!
Which o e do u use
Scott is the best!
I bought OBDLINK MX+
Scotty!? What the best cheap one!?
Is Micro Mechanic a good scan tool?
I got the Harbor Freight one cause I’m poor. 😢
Where can I buy a Matter Baby?
I need one because mechanics are nothing but rip offs, charging $100 just to do a scan. Like I'm going to pay that.
Launch, thinkcar and xtools scanners are from the same manufacturer.
How’s acdelco scanners ?
What about scanners for European cars??
Best scan tool is disconnecting the battery and for some reason code goes away….. lol no no
Blue driver is good 👍
There are code readers w/ and w/o live data. $20 - 1000
And there's Bi-directional scan tools. Big $$$ but a must have for professionals. $1000+
Everything between $200-1000; if it doesn't have bi-directional control you got scammed.
Use what toyota trchs use vreader
RIP Scotty
_Bruh chill_
Ok Scottie I need a giod one for a 2012 audi s4 please help!!
Not sure how much even the best scan tool would help me since my mechanical IQ is around 27.
It may not work for you to work on the vehicle, but if you start having issues, you can scan and do research so you know whether or not your mechanic is honest or full of crap
It's the chips in them.
bought the crap one and it works fine. not only does it work good but I got what I paid for haha!
Why don’t they come installed in the car?🧐🤷🏻
