If someone actually decides to build that I‘d recommend to plug the remote into a short extension cable that always stays plugged into the camera. That way you don’t ruin the port on the camera when plugging and unplugging the remote. Or just keep it plugged in as it has been said in the video but this might be useful for transport.

I got the Sony RX100 VI 20.1 MP because I needed the telephoto lens. There are magnetic filter rigs you can use but they aren’t heavy enough to attach a wide angle lens. I can also recommend the cage. I got an intervalometer that doubles as a remote release and extends the time lapse capability.
I especially like your confidence in gluing to your camera.
Cameras were always such sacred artifacts that were given white glove treatment. In today's times we have countless choices with new models baking like Friday night pizzas. This was very interesting, tHanks for the video!

Honestly this doesn't look more compelling than my phone, it is slightly better than my phone at low light for sure, but if we use very well lit scenes then a phone is enough!?
My phone has a 1 inch sensor and i could clip on some lenses on it to get a tighter focal length.
You phone is definetly not using the entire 1inch sensor i can guarantee that

Can it output 1080p 1000fps through HDMI?
No, the HFR modes just write out to a file, and lock the camera while it's doing that - you can only get a couple of seconds of real-time from what I remember.

You should make a video some phone lenses, their super cool and they mount to your phone! Basically they have macro and telephoto and wide angle and fisheye, and my favorite brand is apexel. Nice video! ❤
What is the quality of the video tho? Looks like phone quality
The videos show as 1080p, but they are recorded in a lower resolution closer to 720p and then just scaled to 1080p in the camera.
it's pretty low-res - 1136x384 scaled up in camera to 1080P - it would be interesting if they had an option of outputting the actual resolution and letting something like Topaz do the upscaling.
TBH 1824x1026 (250fps) isn't bad, 1676x566 (500fps) might be more usable, and take that down to 1000fps in post, but you're still limited to capturing 2 seconds worth
I had this camera for a while and had some fun shooting slow motion with it, but never had any show that were actually pretty or usable professionally. I now have a Lumix S5 that shoots beautiful 10bit 4k but shooting 100 to 180fps with it really decreases the video quality and sharpness.

My advice is don't waste your money on this RX100 IV or any of the RX line. The video quality is just not there!
so not for 500 xD, I buy used, but that one you got is beaten.
