Why have I never thought to buy a skirt too big and altering it?!? 😄 I will definitely look more carefully when thrift shopping.

You should, but sure that the waistband is really simple. This is the type of waistband I look for. The jean skirt ones are super complicated to alter.

Wow, thank you for this I will surely give this a try. I am just wondering how I can create the A-line shape without the ruler. Do you have any ideas?

    • @sewaldodiy
      @sewaldodiy  Před rokem

Yes get a long rectangle piece of paper. Width is quarter length of your waistline, then your desired length. Slash and fan the hem it by 2 inches apart. Be sure to not cut it all the to the waistline. Just fan it out and you will get an A-line shape pattern. I hope it makes sense what I mean.

Wow, I need to do this! I have an oversized skirt, which touches the floor. It would be perfect for this! It's more of a stretchy jean. Do you think that would be a problem?

    • @sewaldodiy

I'm glad to hear that you found this helpful. Anyway, no the stretchy fabric should not be a problem when taking in your skirt.

I suggest that when you say "do the same to the other side" that you don't need to show us a second time. That gets boring. Good otherwise😊
