In this episode we build a 5 kWh mobile portable rolling solar generator in 15 minutes or less for less than $2000. This portable power station is the Delta pro in Delta ultra killer because of its massive storage capacity and it's massive solar input. This e.g. for hybrid all in one inverter can take 5000 W of solar input and put out 3000 W continuous with up to 6000 W of surge capacity. With enough solar panels you should be able to run this all day. You could run it in your trailer set up for whatever you need it to and you would be good with mounting solar panels on the roof of your trailer. This is a great set up which is portable because it's on wheels and you can wheel it to where ever it needs to go and can easily be recharged by mains power or solar.

Very creative build! It’s a great 120v inverter for the money and the 500VDC charge controller can take in a lot of solar panel power if run in series. I opted to go with a generator cord output that I could connect directly to my generator transfer switch. Worked great! I could run my house loads for 4-6 hours depending on what I used. Keep building! 👍⚡️☀️💡🔋🤠
Nice clean setup!
Great job! I really like how compact it is.
Good stuff! Thanks for sharing.
VERY GOOD BUILD,THANKS FOR ALL YOU HAVE DONE.
I'd put inverter other way around so standing up it vents nicely as designed and power strips are higher up...also breaker being down at the ground is going to get bumped, drug thru water etc...that should be up top. Pretty clean compact setup though. I like the MPP 3048 since they work better on smaller arrays that might fit the role of a portable system.
You are a brilliant guy. Take care.
Thanks!
Fits perfectly. Does that EG4 unit allow a limited amperage to be pulled from its 120vac input? Eg. If you had a 1500w load and only a 800w generator, or will it just pass the full load to the generator (ac input) and try to load 1500w on to the generator?
Good design power station
thanks!
My question how the hell do i put the solar panels on a mobile rv or trailer to supply this if they are so big theyre not meant for rv or trailers... anyone have an answer for rv trailer use bc i dont see one beside spending thousands onna heavy duty roof rack to run this in an rv
Is the inverter neutral bounded? If so, how you did it?
GOOD EXCEPT FOR TEH DUST IN THE INVERTER PART
i do think just using washers and some extra glue is better then rivnuts
on plastic, you're probably right
Great idea nicely done. Do you happen to have the inside dimensions for the Ridgid box? There are 48V 100ah rack mount batteries on sale for Prime day. Could cut the cost down. Again great idea thank you
I just built this system. Can you give me an idea on the settings on your controller?
Just saw your video, great information and clear instructions. Do you know if you can do pass thru charging with this?
If you configure the inverter to proper mode it can charge and power loads at the time
Can you make a case for the eg4 6000xp and this type of set up. I’m torn between the yellow one and the 6000xp
SAME QUESTION. IS IT WORTH IT TO HAVE 240V
I did this type setup with EG46000XP and 3 lifepower batteries. Its built on a homemade cart 1200lb capacity. goes easy through doorways and easy to roll around and roll on a trailer if needed. The EG46000XP folds down for compact storage. Its recommended the EG46000XP be vertical when in operation.
@@colormaker5070 very cool.. Something I'm going to try over the 3k I think
Can you charge it with just a 450 watts solar panel? Or does it have minimum solar panel requirement?
No, you need 120V minimum, so probably 3-4 300-400W solar panels depending on the specific panel's voltage.
Does the battery get hot in the box? Should I add a fan?
Was thinking the same thing. Vent holes at least
Nice. You just fill your inverter intake was saw dust.
Will this work with 4 12V 100AH LiFePO4 Lithium Battery's in parallel
Not in parallel. The batteries would need to be in series to reach 48v (assuming the batteries support being in series)
wow very interesting. thanks! so if i double this i get 10kw battery.. and 240w so i can charge my tesla
at 30 amps?
You can only get 12.5 amp out of that box
dont see a ridgid box with wheels like that. did you custom build the box to add wheels?
I would like to know the dimensions
I bought one like that.
@@2hotscottpro Would you mind sharing the link?
@@ImASurvivorNThriver lookup ridged box with wheels.I guess they are still sold at Home Depot.
The battery doesn't get hot?
Not in my use case. Not drawing enough for long periods of time
Technically this is not considered a hybrid inverter, but I get what you are referring to.
That box is not vented. Battery will over heat. A hand truck with nematic tires will make a better unit . Less bumpy.

Bruh man. I know you want to show off your unit! Do it away from the dust particles though.
EG4Electronics looks sketchy to me as they don't have the EG4 WP Waterproof Lithium Battery on their own website and have incomplete tech specs for other products. Who know how much it weigh, EG4 doesn't say. When you are holding that much energy, Thermal Runaway is a huge issue if it starts.
if I watch the Video I only have 2 mins left for the build, shopping for parts, ect 15 mins does not seem very long LOL
Watch while shopping
NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO
Easier to just get a refurb Delta Pro for $1600. :-)
You get more power ,more satisfaction, at a way cheaper price.
I'd rather buy a Diesel Generator of 5.5 Kwh for 500!.
Then when you run out of Diesel and you can't get anymore what do you do? Also with this you can live off it, you can't do that with diesel.
@@oswaldmosley6179 Have both :)
So now we're speed racing towards finishing our builds .... less than 5 mins here, under 30 seconds there, 1 minute for this one and 1 minute for that one. All while sacrificing safety on so many levels .... even if you could build this from scratch in 15 minutes or less, you're probably going to end up shortening your life exponentially. This build is about as helter skelter rigged as it can be.
Why,
what a load of rubbish refurbished only 100ah for over $1000 must be insane
100 amps at 48 volts. This is a great price! This is 5120 watts. Do your research and you will see this is way better than the pre-built.
Cheap Cinese made, lightweight, high frequency, transformerless inverter chargers like these offer a far shorter life expectancy than far more reliable, heavy duty low frequency, transformer based inverter chargers. High frequency inverters like these also offer a far poorer surge capacity than low frequency inverters when it comes to starting inductive more loads.
You write this on every video. Get a life?
Hater
Are you kidding me? This is DANGEROUS. You are being irresponsible. DO NOT DO THIS based on THIS VIDEO. If anyone gets hurt by following this video, it's THIS GUYS FAULT. DO NOT attempt this unless you know what you are doing.
People build these every day, are you crazy!
??? What part is dangerous?
@meilyn22 inverter should be in upright position when running
Can you elaborate more??
One could get electrocuted or blow things up. Also it could be dangerous for others and cause fire etc.
